Soooo true about waiting for the "perfect time". It never comes! I'm learning to just sit and paint even if I just have 20 minutes.
Yes! In our head, we always make it such a huge deal, but sometimes just sitting down for a few minutes is enough!
Balancing the water in the brush and on the paper--what a revelation! This explains why I couldn't achieve this look before. Thank you, Mako!
Even using cotton paper seems I usually paint to wet.
Will tap it on paper towel but still learning “brush has water, paint has had water added & if do wet on wet (more water) so believe more practice & ty for these videos!

Awesome video, Mako! I always like introducing Aerial Perspective to my students who want to learn how to improve their landscapes, and you shared the main principles here. The further away elements are from the viewer of the scene, the cooler in temperature (bluer/whiter), the more "blurred" and less detailed, and the lighter in value. It's amazing how we can really enhance our landscapes' depth by making use of these key points which are directly related to how we see things in real life due to the atmosphere! Thanks so much for your wonderful videos. 💚🌟

I would also offer that quality paper is a must, I even used both sides of cotton paper so that I could learn how my technique would work on that best supply, quality cotton paper!

Hi Makoccino thank you for this tutorial, I can't wait to try. My question is I used to dip my brush into the water and dab it straight to the pan to pick up paint and keep doing that. Is it better to not do that and pick up paint first put it on the palette and then add water like how you did in this video?
