    Avalokiteshvara
    while practicing deeply with
the Insight that Brings Us to the Other Shore,
    suddenly discovered that
all of the five Skandhas are equally empty,
    and with this realisation
    he overcame all Ill-being.
    “Listen Sariputra,
    this Body itself is Emptiness
and Emptiness itself is this Body.
This Body is not other than Emptiness
and Emptiness is not other than this Body.
The same is true of Feelings,
    Perceptions, Mental Formations,
    and Consciousness.
    “Listen Sariputra,
    all phenomena bear the mark of Emptiness;
their true nature is the nature of
    no Birth no Death,
    no Being no Non-being,
    no Defilement no Purity,
    no Increasing no Decreasing.
    “That is why in Emptiness,
    Body, Feelings, Perceptions,
    Mental Formations and Consciousness
    are not separate self entities.
    The Eighteen Realms of Phenomena
which are the six Sense Organs,
    the six Sense Objects,
    and the six Consciousnesses
are also not separate self entities.
The Twelve Links of Interdependent Arising
    and their Extinction
are also not separate self entities.
    Ill-being, the Causes of Ill-being,
the End of Ill-being, the Path,
    insight and attainment,
are also not separate self entities.
    Whoever can see this
no longer needs anything to attain.
    Bodhisattvas who practice
the Insight that Brings Us to the Other Shore
see no more obstacles in their mind,
    and because there
are no more obstacles in their mind,
    they can overcome all fear,
    destroy all wrong perceptions
    and realize Perfect Nirvana.
“All Buddhas in the past, present and future
    by practicing
the Insight that Brings Us to the Other Shore
    are all capable of attaining
    Authentic and Perfect Enlightenment.
    “Therefore Sariputra,
    it should be known that
the Insight that Brings Us to the Other Shore
    is a Great Mantra,
    the most illuminating mantra,
    the highest mantra,
    a mantra beyond compare,
the True Wisdom that has the power
to put an end to all kinds of suffering.
    Therefore let us proclaim
    a mantra to praise
the Insight that Brings Us to the Other Shore.
Gate, Gate, Paragate, Parasamgate, Bodhi Svaha!
Gate, Gate, Paragate, Parasamgate, Bodhi Svaha!
Gate, Gate, Paragate, Parasamgate, Bodhi Svaha!”

I'm chanting this now in Honor of our dearest Thay, who left his earthly body today on 22/01/22, whose spirt touched mine and it will still be in everything I see. May your love touch and linger in all living beings.
My deepest gratitude to you dearest Master, because of you I walk and breath as a free person.🌸🌼

This is Thich Nhat Hanh’s translated version of the Heart Sutra. Probably the most celebrated Sutra in Mahayana Buddhism. A treatise on the buddhist concept of emptiness. I’ve never heard it chanted as beautifully as this. Thanks for sharing it. 🙏🏻

As long as I have known about the Heart Sutra, I have found it increasingly meaningful, accurate and comforting. It is in line with a modern scientific view. Much of Thich Nat Hahn's lectures and interpretations I agree with, but some interpretations I find misleading instead of guiding (which may seem an arrogant and insignificant point of view from a Westerner like me).
In short, it can be said that I understand Thay's interpretation of the "emptiness" of phenomena in the sutra as motivated by their interdependence to create a whole. I think this is New Age thinking which can certainly be said to be true but leads away from the message I see. If I lose one of my useful legs, am I completely lost or transformed?
I want to see it as the singular entities we identify and classify are essentially empty because they are actually arbitrarily divided by us. If, for example, humans had instead developed X-ray vision, we would have seen through certain tissues and therefore mentally divided the world in a different way. Had we instead had sense organs that could only identify energy currents and no matter, we would have made yet another division even if the world were largely the same as it is now. Our mental constructs depend on our conditioning in and around us, but they are the illusions we create from our conditioning and are, from most other perspectives, empty and non-existent.
In addition, I also think that Buddhism's belief in the reincarnation of one and the same coherent consciousness is absurd, especially since the heart sutra also says that our consciousness also is empty. Although energy and matter are never destroyed and have always existed in one form or another, they are continuously and inevitably transformed. No matter or energy can reasonably be derived and held together from the previous existence of one and the same human being into the existence of a new being. Reincarnation, like the Christians' Heaven or the Pagans' Valhalla, is a fantasy to comfort and motivate fearful individuals who do not see that they never really exist independently in the universe in the forms they believe.
But I have to say that I think Thich Nat Hahn's translation of the Heart Sutra into English is excellent.

it is my understanding that buddhist rebirth and the idea of reincarnation are distinct ideas - rebirth doesn’t imply the same continuation of a distinct ‘soul’ or essence that reincarnation in (for example) hinduism does
