THIS is music. Listen to that guitar going crazy! This is my favorite Stones song with incredible lyrics. "Is he gonna close the doors on me?" "The sunshine bores the daylights out of me." Those lines give me the goosebumps...

I never realized others loved the lyrics to this song as much as me!! When he sings " the sunshine bores tge daylights out of me" somehow makes me feel alive and sums up the stones!
I wanted to hear a real psycho live version of "Rocks Off." Gotta say, The Stones came thru once more. Took me about 2 seconds to find it too. Thanks to the uploader! Kudos, 66loser.
@exile1962 yes I think your right I think this is the best version I ever heard of the stones singing rocks of they should release this version it was way better then any version even during the voodoo lounge tour
@@mikebarooshian7255they should release a show from that tour, they were at a peak, killer set list, first five numbers, best start to a gig you could get, fantastic sound, everyone on fire !
110% True....Beatlescannot even come close to touching The Rolling Stones....The Beatles came to America and brought optimism and hope.....Four months later the Stones arrived
The Rolling Stones were at so many pivotal points in history...they brought an end to the 1960's at Altamont....They did things their way against society and opened the youth of the 1960 and 1970's to say fuck it I am doing it. My way like the Stones did and do
Billy Monahan Some okay bands in there, but Coldplay sucks the big one. Even combining all those bands though, they still don't even come close to touching the Stones' greatness.
This version perfectly captures the reckless urgency of the song. I feel like I'm hanging on for dear life. Breathless. I can't think of any other song that does this to me every time I hear it. This first song on "Exile" followed by Rip This Joint are the best one-two punch opening songs of any Rock 'n Roll album.
For me the is no other Rock n Roll band other than the Rolling Stones. People try to get me to listen to metal but I absolutely hate it. This is it here!
Yeah he was cool but Mick and Keiths songwriting from 68 we t to another level, remember they started later then other bands songwriting wise and they had peaked when he joined. I think people get it mixed up and think it was a good period coz of Taylor which is ridiculous it's the songs
This must be Down Under '73. By the time they hit Europe '73 they were not doing this anymore. Thanks66loser; this is by far the best version live of Rocks Off. One of my alltime fave Stones cuts. But they have never been able to pull it off live. Don't know why Jagger hasn't changed the key for live. This is superb here. Also, IMO the '73 Far East tour is the very best the Stones ever were on stage. Better even than US 72 and Europe 73 . There are a couple boots from the Australia shows (Perth, and one of the Sydney shows that are stellar)
That gig just might be taking place in Montreal, as we see a roady (black/white) walking to the stage with a Montreal Canadian (hockey) jersey. Anyway. GREAT GIG!
nobody knows, because this is clip a few of tracks from their tour in U.S.A, I think that where singing Mick and Keith together this may be the song Happy.
I have seen it before actually. It appears on the screen at the beginning of "Ladies And Gentlemen The Rolling Stones". That's the one and only time I've seen it though, so I don't know about patches, I popped in the movie and took a larger screen cap of it for you but RUclips won't let me put the link in the comments so I'll message it to you or something.
The procedure for recording musicians in the basement, with the mobile truck parked outside the Nellcote manse, given the available sources oof electricity in the south of France, summer '71. Arduous, inconvenient.
And of course Bowie ripped off Marc Bolan. I don't think it matters. Style isn't owned by anyone, and the music is what matters. Everybody was wearing psychedelic stuff in the 60's, glam stuff in the 70's, whatever you want to call 80's fashion in the 80's, and flannel in the 90's. These days all these alt-rock/folk bands (Mumford and Sons, The Lumineers, Fleet Foxes, etc) all dress like depression era school children. As long as the music's good they can wear trash bags for all I care.
Early Bowie is pretty "meh". Roxy Music and their first 4 albums may have influenced Bowie. Now that's early glam. This is great and I love the raw sound. Listen to Exile if you want it clean cause this is what it probably sounded like if you were lucky enough to have been there
@80sHeavymetalthebest There must be ten trillion, very ragged sounding, different bootlegs of the 1969-1976 tours out there. Surprisingly, no two of them sound even remotely alike. I've played in two different RS tribute bands, both of which tried at various times to learn the tunes from such tapes. It was pretty much hopeless until (much) better stuff became available after the Steel Wheels tour.
THIS is music. Listen to that guitar going crazy! This is my favorite Stones song with incredible lyrics. "Is he gonna close the doors on me?" "The sunshine bores the daylights out of me." Those lines give me the goosebumps...
My favorite too. I don't know if I've gone more than three days without playing it, for several years now.

good stuff. Compare this to justin beeber

Mick T and Keith the greatest guitar lead/rhythm combo ever....stones ruled the world back then.
Yes they did
Only cause the beatles broke up
George Harrison and John Lennon

Probably my favorite opening track to any Stones album.
I agree - but Gimme Shelter
Gimme Shelter and Brown Sugar are both really good. It's hard to pick a favorite.
peak Stones, the entire Exile album. To add the sax and piano into their repertoire was their coup de grace. Amazing music.

This is one of the absolute best clips on youtube. As soon as you hear the opening riff you know they aren't fucking around!!! Love the Stones!!!!!!
THe Rolling Stones have a sound that is simply inserpassable and immimichable. absolutley ecsquisit
I find it unfair that the Stones don't release this version of Rocks Off because it is the best live version I have ever heard in my life!!!

During the tour of Australia in 1973, at that time "Session Man" Nicky Hopkins played with his unique piano.

Other than the Ramones probably my favorite band. Sad thing is this is my parents music, but I don't even give a shit, The Stones are timeless.

I really enjoy the slight change of the vocal melody mick does during the verses here. It somehow solidifies the originality
