my next video will be ‘the perfect anime for each zodiac sign’ 🤩 what anime should I include?? subscribe and stay tuned!! I’m so excited to film it soon 💕
I borrowed it from a friend a few years back and had low expectations (I’d heard it was one of the less good of the Ghibli movies) but omg I was so moved by the end of it. It’s such a beautiful story and I feel like it’s so under appreciated.
the wind rises is my favourite! "but remember this japanese boy, airplanes are not tools for war. they are not for making money. airplanes are beautiful dreams" ✨ the way i laughed too hard at how u introduced up on poppy hill tho 😭😭
I think tiny things are neat and all, but what made Arrietty so outstanding to me was the way he reacted so casual to stumbling upon this whole other world, acting as a silent helper (or at least trying to be one heh). Also the movie radiated so much peace, they literally leaked pics of heaven
Princess Kaguya... such a beautiful and touching movie that I have unfortunately not seen many people talk about! And you were right, I cry at everything, movies, music... and this is also the reason why it's so difficult for me to rewatch this movie, bc I get way too emotional :)))))
Next video should be “what your favorite non-Ghibli anime film says about you” that way I can finally come terms with my Perfect Blue obsession and how I might actually be a sick twisted individual deep inside lol
Yes definetely like i love ghibli movies but my favourite movie of all time is wolf children, it just gets me emotional and nostalgic, and omg the countryside is so pretty also I wish hana was my mum shes amazing
'from up on poppy hill' aw its cute, oh no oh no OH NO NO NO, oh okay calm down everybody we all good man this was the most accurate and relatable description of this movie pls-
I was in 2nd year highschool since I watched the wind rises and it motivated me to be a pilot/aeronautical engineer. Now Im graduating highschool and I already applied in a Aeronautical school here in our country and I am accepted in their engineering department. I wished to be like Jiro in the future, designing beautiful planes that are not for war. Wish me luck guys.
Porco Rosso is definitely my favourite Ghibli movie. I have a hard time picking favourites with them, but it is the one I find myself rewatching the most consistently. I find I watch Howls Moving Castle the most though if I want to relax. I love them all.
From Up On Poppy Hill is my number 1 (or 2 between Princess Mononoke, lol). It's just so chill with a tinge of melancholia and feel good vibes. Shows you there's always a rainbow after the storm and people willing to make the best out of life despite their tragedies or no guaranteed "reward" from their efforts.
my sisters favourite is Nausicaa and you literally described her exactly... it was kind of scary Monika!! edit: and mine is ocean waves, and you just described me perfectly too! wow
From up on Poppy Hill is one of my favourites, but not because of the romance. I simply love architecture and old buildings! Saving a Latin Neoclassical Building was just the ideal plot for me!
I loved From Up on Poppy Hill a lot because of the comfort it brings me. It reminds me of the few quiet, peaceful times I had during my junior high school days that I loved and cherished a lot (I rarely have those moments that I enjoy during those times, so they were special to me). The quiet yet strong connection between Shun and Umi makes me yearn for something similar as well (although the whole siblings or nah part was uncomfortable to watch). The setting was also a plus for me!
nice analyse! I'd like to add that castle in the sky is a bit scientific also, so someone who loves it might be drawn to science and knowledge of the unknown :)
Definitely Nausicaa and Porco Rosso are my favourite Ghibli movies - but I think that just summarise Porco as a “you are hard on yourself” does not make justicies on the film! For example Chio - the female character is empowering and a fundamental character in the film that shows that you can be anything you want, if you go for it :) Love your studio ghibli films!
My all time favourite is Princess Kaguya... and yes, you were right about every single thing. I SOB every single time I watch it and feel so intensely about this story
Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind and When Marnie Was There are my follow up favorites and you're spot on for the first, though not as much for the second (when you mentioned sexuality)! I feel like When Marnie Was There has a similar approaching theme as My Neighbor Totoro, except much more character focused, in this case, being introverted.
I might be a little late but strongly agree with you, Marnie never crossed me as a queer undertoned film. I've always been a lonely person so making friends was always hard for me, to meet a Marnie in your life would be amazing! Plus I love vintage, spooky ghostly things so that's a bonus for me
I am just now getting into watching studio ghibli films and my utmost favorite film is When Marnie was There. Beautifully crafted movie that I believe is underrated by a TON. Anna's character really resonated with me and I could literally see myself within her (aside from her illness). The connection between the two characters was just filled with love and deep care for one another and it truly shows :,3
Totoro was my favorite as a child and will always have a special place in my heart but I can not deny the chokehold Arrietty has on me and it certainly is my favorite now that I've expanded from my childhood.
Yesssss I feel like no one gives that movie any love! It’s definitely one of my favorite ghibli movies. I get why some people may be turned off by it since it is a little long and by the end i didn’t really feel super connected to any of the individual characters, rather just the racoons and their movement as a whole. But I thought the whole thing was insanely imaginative, beautiful, and funny.
Subscribed because of your Studio Ghibli content haha. I just watched Only Yesterday last night and my gosh it was so good. It made me smile and relax. I remembered my childhood days when I go to the province every summer and spend time there with my grandparents and cousins. Also, even though it wasn't exactly a sad film, I felt some sad and nostalgic feelings haha I don't know how to explain it. Studio Ghibli doesn't release a bad film, okay except for the 3d one hahaha. I hope they'll release more movies like this with watercolor background ✨
I love Castle in the Sky and Arrietty, and it makes me sad that not more people do. You were completely right ^-^ (Besides the tough part, I'm a soft bean)
I was waiting for the turn of the tale of princess kaguya, when you said "you're probably an artist" i was like "wow" and everything after that was 100% accurate, i was surprised !
my favorite used to be whisper of the heart but the more i watched ghibli films, i couldn't pick anymore HAHAHAHA but i always find myself re-watching when marnie was there just because it made me cry a river the first time i watched it and the it's full of emotion. but oh my god only yesterday also made me cry especially the ending 😭
omg !! u totally got me on the princess kaguya !! i am such a nostalgic person who feels heavily with my past/childhood experiences or stories !!! and im an artist LOL ^-^ loved this video so much monika !! :D
It’s so hard to pick one favorite Studio Ghibli movie because they all have their own individual charm. Princess Kaguya, From Up on Poppy Hill, Ponyo, Howl’s Moving Castle and the Cat Returns are some of the ones that stand out the most to me.
Ok I just watch From Up on Poppy Hill recently so idk if its a favorite but when she said "bullet journaling, spotify playlists, and poems" I - who did she know?!?!?!
From part 2, when marnie was there, the cat returns and only yesterday are my favourites. I could also relate a big time with what these films told about me.
my next video will be ‘the perfect anime for each zodiac sign’ 🤩 what anime should I include?? subscribe and stay tuned!! I’m so excited to film it soon 💕
Haikyuu!! I'm so obsessed with it
Mob Psycho 100, AOT, Card Captor Sakura, Sailor Moon.
When Marnie was there is my comfort movie but I love all the studio ghibli movies
Comfort??? I can't watch that film without sobbing. I've seen it six times and I sob every time without fail. I watch it to feel something.
I borrowed it from a friend a few years back and had low expectations (I’d heard it was one of the less good of the Ghibli movies) but omg I was so moved by the end of it. It’s such a beautiful story and I feel like it’s so under appreciated.
aghh it pains me how underappreciated it is it's the only movie ive ever watched that's made me cry
Its the only film thats made me cry more than once during the runtime.
I love when marnie was there too!! It reminds me so much of my grandma and I was sobbing by the end
the wind rises is my favourite! "but remember this japanese boy, airplanes are not tools for war. they are not for making money. airplanes are beautiful dreams" ✨
the way i laughed too hard at how u introduced up on poppy hill tho 😭😭
“The wind is rising, we must try to live!”
yes!
When Marnie was there is my favourite and you are absolutely right what do you want me to say I do listen to girl in red
same
Omg same
Oh someone said it 🖤 same
I think tiny things are neat and all, but what made Arrietty so outstanding to me was the way he reacted so casual to stumbling upon this whole other world, acting as a silent helper (or at least trying to be one heh). Also the movie radiated so much peace, they literally leaked pics of heaven
I just watched "Only Yesterday" this morning and it was beautiful and so underrated!
agreed!! i can’t believe it’s not more popular.
yes so underrated! it's isao takahata's best in my opinion
YES it’s probably my favourite Ghibli film (together with The Tale of Princess Kaguya)
@@tamsinsylvie4331 it’s definitely one of my favorites “3”
Was about to say that is my favorite film, what does that say about me Lol
Tiny things are so comforting, they just make me feel warm 🥺 so accurate
i know!! that's why i loved polly pockets so much as a kid, everything was just adorable lol
Princess Kaguya... such a beautiful and touching movie that I have unfortunately not seen many people talk about! And you were right, I cry at everything, movies, music... and this is also the reason why it's so difficult for me to rewatch this movie, bc I get way too emotional :)))))
I would definitely love a "What your favorite Wes Anderson movie says about you" video
great idea!!
tbf Wes Anderson films feel like a series of episodes of a whole show. They share more things than they differ so it wont be easy to separate them imo
Oh my goodness,
Yes!

Song of the sea?
Porco rosso was really good!! It's so underrated!!
From Up on Poppy Hill is my comfort movie
You're in for a treat then. It's my favourite movie and she described me perfectly lol.
Aaah finally I’ve found someone else who loves From Up on Poppy Hill the most, I don’t know why but I find it so so comforting
'from up on poppy hill'
aw its cute, oh no oh no OH NO NO NO, oh okay calm down everybody we all good
man this was the most accurate and relatable description of this movie pls-
The "From Up on Poppy Hill" one was too spot on for me omg
Is there anyone here who doesn't have one specific favourite Ghibli movie cuz I feel like every movie is special to me
"When Marine was There" is such a beautiful movie!! I honestly loved it and have watched it like 1000 times
"Howl's moving castle" and "Marnie was there" are my two favorite Ghibli shows
Agree
I only saw Marnie for the first time in January, and not only has it become my favourite Ghibli film, but also one of my favourite films.
My favourite is the cat returns
I was in 2nd year highschool since I watched the wind rises and it motivated me to be a pilot/aeronautical engineer. @@cinemoni Thankyou for noticing my comment! I will surely do my best🤗
Ps. Sorry for my bad english tho
My favorite is When Marnie Was There… everything is so accurate, but I force myself to be social. And yes, I do listen to girl in red.
My favourite is ocean waves!!! It perfectly encapsulates the bittersweet feelings that i feel as a teen :) plus, the analysis is super accurate 😳
yes that's a perfect description! so bittersweet
My neighbour Totoro has always been my biggest comfort movie- I literally grew up with it basically -
Nausicaa and monoke are my favorites and loved what you said
I relate a lot to what you said about Castle In The Sky and Nausicaa ❤️
CASTLE IN THE SKY🥺♥️
Yo same!
yesss
Sameeee❤️❤️❤️❤️
Porco Rosso is definitely my favourite Ghibli movie. I have a hard time picking favourites with them, but it is the one I find myself rewatching the most consistently. I find I watch Howls Moving Castle the most though if I want to relax. I love them all.
I'am sooooo here for all the studio ghibli videos
i love making them!
As someone who's favorite movie is when Marnie was there. This is true. Every much 🏳️🌈
It's a queer comfort movie honestly
castle in the sky, when marnie was there and whisper of the heart best comfort movie for me
From Up On Poppy Hill is my number 1 (or 2 between Princess Mononoke, lol). It's just so chill with a tinge of melancholia and feel good vibes. Shows you there's always a rainbow after the storm and people willing to make the best out of life despite their tragedies or no guaranteed "reward" from their efforts.
Wow, I came into this wondering what you'd say about Porco Rosso, but damn you nailed me with that lol.
my sisters favourite is Nausicaa and you literally described her exactly... it was kind of scary Monika!!

The wind rises and whisper of the heart are my favourite movies 💞
I think i said about trying this with Pixar movies or Tim Burton movies before, I always enjoy these kind of videos, Thanks Monika.

My favourites are 💜 -
Grave of the fireflies
Whisper of the heart
Ocean waves
From up on poppy hill
I hate grave of the fireflies and wisper of the heart

Only yesterday is my favourite. You are right about the being guilty and hold on to past. I love simple life. Not nostalgic.
My all time favourite is Princess Kaguya... and yes, you were right about every single thing. I SOB every single time I watch it and feel so intensely about this story
