    I'm jealous you got to do this lol. Great video! I'm just stunned and happy (as a fan of the original) that they use the original Sprocket(s) from the original show.

    John Tartaglia! He was Princeton and Rod on Tony winning Avenue Q.
    Oh man. I couldn't do that job of body puppeteer for Junior . I get claustrophobic.

    Man I wanna visit the Jim Henson company! They’ve inspired me to make my own puppets, and to hopefully create my own puppet show!❤

    Oh my goodness this is such a eye opener to how much work it takes to create a production like this much respect to everyone involved and thank you for sharing, was it difficult as the puppeteer to hold the puppet and say your lines?

    • @TheMovieCouple
      @TheMovieCouple  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yay I’m glad you liked this video. It was not an easy task to puppeteer and improv. I’ve never tried puppeteering before so it was all brand new to me. But the best part was they were just letting us have fun

    Adam Savage has a video where he meets one of the in-costume performers for Junior and gets to see how they work inside the suit. Remarkable stuff.

    I smiled for joy when in the beginning of this video, you show Baby Sinclair from Dinosaurs. I loved watching that show. Baby was my favorite character. It was creepy just seeing only his dad’s head next to him. This was really cool, Wendy!!! I love this video!!! ❤️

    Thank you so much for posting this! As I'm a longtime _Fraggle Rock_ fan going back all the way to when the show first debuted on HBO, I'll likely sound insane or obsessed in my commentary here (which I actually wrote in three seperate posts, but out of consideration for the casual fans, I've instead decided to post everything in one comment here along with timestamps for anyone interested enough). Again, thank you - every moment of this video was fascinating to me -- and the moment they unveiled Junior Gorg? Nothing short of breathtaking.
    8:49 - With the exception of Mokey, of course. _Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock_ achieves the impossible in living up to the original, but the new Mokey is one of the few questionable choices. Each of the "Fraggle Five" were perfectly balanced in personality. Gobo was the young dreamer, Wembley the goofy sidekick, Boober the pessimisic worrier, Red the outgoing athlete, and Mokey the sensitive artist. The two females in particular overcame the fact that they were opposites and succeeded as friends and roommates, but the new Mokey is often more spastic than even Wembley(!) and while I'm hopeful today's kids will love it nonetheless, I can't help but lament the loss of my personal favorite as I fell in love with her back then.
    I was interested when the question of the ratio between live vocal performance vs. additional dialogue recording (ADR) was asked because I recently wondered about it while watching Season 2, but I'm a bit confused by Tartaglia's response. From what _I've_ read about _Back to the Rock,_ Dave Goelz (the original puppeteer for Boober, Uncle Traveling Matt, and Philo) is the only original Muppet performer still working today, but that he doesn't actually do the physical puppeteering anymore. The guest stars are also pre-recorded (as evidenced by a recent video feature that shows the guest stars "meeting" their Fraggle Rock counterparts). I guess I was interested to know if they pre-record the vocals for their songs _and_ dialogue, or if the dialogue is stricting ADR after the footage is filmed.
    24:50 The "tiny" radio-operated Fraggles that would peek out from the rock and run through the garden in the original show were one of my favorite elements. I recently saw close-up photos of them in the series retrospective book that released with the new series. So amazing.

    I grew up on Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock, Dark Crystal, Labrynth, Dinosaurs, and The Muppets. Fraggle Rock theme song was always so cheerful and catchy. The Creature Shop is full of such creative people. I wish they would bring back Jim Henson's Creature Shop Challenge. Such an amazing experience!!

    This is freaking AMAZING!!! I grew up puppeteering at my church and took courses to eventually become a master puppeteer. Not professionally, but for church and other events. I even had my own Conehead puppet, named Mop. I've tried on one of those full-body puppet costumes before (well, almost 30 years ago), they were heavy and very hot! Thank you for sharing this experience, this was so cool!

      Were you aware of the fact that they're currently in pre-production on a _Labyrinth_ sequel? "Pre-production" could refer anything from "we have a three-page outline for a script" to "they're building the sets as we speak" and it's sadly all-too-common for projects like this to return to "development hell," but I first read about that particular project perhaps a month ago. Google it under "news" and see what you find if you're interested.
