  • My review and unboxing of the Maono AU-PM422 USB Microphone. I use it to record voiceover, vocals, acoustic guitar and percussion. I demo it on solo acoustic guitar and in a full track with vocals.

Good job! Very nice watching a review for one of these microphones that features actual musical talent. I've watched a lot of videos about different microphone brands and models and you're the first to do this. Music is life. Happy Holidays from Canada.

Thank you, really appreciate that! I was trying to demo it as a musical piece of gear rather than a podcast mic to give a different take on it, and I think it performed well! Happy holidays from the UK!!

How would you position the mic to record guitar and vocals simultaneously on the same track? Great review by the way! I was looking for a review of the PM422 for music recording and this was very well done! Thank you.

You would usually use 2 microphones, one on voice and the other on the guitar. If you want to record both you just need to experiment I think, see where it sounds best. You'll have to make sure you're playing the guitar at the right volume to match the volume of your voice! Glad you enjoyed the review, thanks for watching!

the only thing I hate from this mic is that there is no software for it and the live monitoring volume can't be adjusted. Sidetone is too loud

There are ways of achieving this by balancing the output of your software with the direct monitoring. It would be useful to have a "console" type application like you get with most soundcards.

What microfone did you use for the video? Aparte of Maono

I'm using a shure shotgun mic on the camera when I'm not using the Maono.
