- This week we was on the pasture where Rick once found his stunning Roman Otho while out metal detecting, this week we find some amazing bit but were unsure to what it is, is it a georgeon pipe tamper? is it a roman hair pin? who knows but one thing i do know id we had fun as always metal detecting the secret location in North Yorkshire.

Top notch upload chaps, that field still holds some good finds, did you see the speed of that soil snake trying to attach its self to mikes hand, just as well he had gloves on lol. Not too bust your bubble but my grandfather was a pipe smoker and he used a pipe tamper and he also use to use a nail to scrap out the bowl of the pipe. So it is possible that you have a multi tool pipe tamper.
Could well be mate, we have found tampers before similar to this but this one just has a real old feel to it, and it's made of Bronze rather than a copper

Lovely job guys. A few interesting bits for sure. Managed a half day dig Saturday gone which was the 1st in a wee while. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Can't wait to get back out. Think permissions are a thing of the past for me sadly but I'm in a nice local club. Sometimes it's just going over the same fields but hopefully have more options after the summer. Also find it difficult finding the time to get on the digs 🙄. At least I got you guys to live it through 😄

Ah yes me too, the thought of a tick is horrible but it's a rare thing on the short grass in our area, it seems to work for the mighty midges though :-)

Hi guys from an ex pat Yorkshiremen living in the highlands of Scotland, I hope your insect repeller works in the fields of Yorkshire, I have the same one and the vicious Scottish midge just laughs at it 🤣. On another note I have just purchased your hoodie and T shirt from Metal detecting supplies, but where can I get the polo shirt from that is being so fantastically modelled by the both of you today, cheers.
Awesome mate, really appreciate the support. Fingers crossed the midgeys down here are a little softer haha but I've a feeling with them been yorkshire that may not be the case. Ah the polo's we were we are currently trying to sort out something but finding it difficult, we got these made as part of package deal with coats etc but they will not do Polo's on demand :-(
@@TheMetalDetectingChannel Hi guys, that's a shame on the polo's but fingers crossed for the future. I was born and bred in Bradford but didn't get into detecting (Manticore driver) until last year really, I am that far north (about 45 mins West of John O Groats) though we don't get Roman up here, but I am always hoping for some Viking stuff. Keep the great videos coming chaps 😁
