Don't let the top-knot/ponytail fool you: Fumiya is a DUDE.👍 [I made the same mistake when I first saw the bassist (Asa) from Wagakki Band.😬 Asa is awfully pretty for a dude.😅] The only ladies in the band are Fuki (vocalist) and Jill (violin). The guitarist who is sitting down is Shiren; and you're correct about the medical condition: he has a condition that causes inflammation in his tendons when they get worked too much. This can make his endurance on stage limited from time to time. {By the way, Wagakki Band actually has TWO drummers; one plays a normal drum set, and the other plays the taiko drums.}
To be fair, ASA in is solo stuff often dress as a woman and is definitively a bit effeminate. It's not the case of Fumiya, it's not long hair for a metal head is unheard of, lol. If the video had a front shot, I'm sure no one would have made that mistake.
Just a couple of corrections, the band has males for guitars, bass and drums, violin is Jill and vocals is Fuki. This is performance is a ladies only night for the audience, not the band. This is a great band, they are independent, not signed to any label, they only sell their CD's in two stores in Tokyo. The guitarist on the far left is the main composer for the band (Shiren) at this time he also had a serious problem with his elbow that prevents him from playing for long periods (the Violinist has taken over some of his parts). Thanks for the reaction. For Maximum the Hormone, I'd recommend you watch offline has they will strike.
"they only sell their CD's in two stores in Tokyo" wow as someone who is 32, that is insane to me that CDs are still being sold LOL I know vinyls have already made a comeback but damn :))))
Fumija is a beast, he shows a lot in the video, I'd say 30%, he's really outstanding in his solos, he's also a great pianist. UM is also a top-shelf band, all the musicians are top league including Jill (violin) she's not an accessory but completely on an equal footing with the guitars she can take on the lead part at any time. But more closed internationally, I hoped for a while that there would be more international but they manage themselves, so it's more local to Japan, the main thing is that they feel comfortable. But if you're interested in the band you'll get everything. Fuki (singer) usually dresses the guys, which can sometimes give the wrong impression hahahah......😀😂 A fun group
It looks like you have been corrected about Fumiya, who is male and is very much a beast of a drummer. I think a good video to watch is the cover of EVH's Eruption by Jill, followed by a cover of Dream Theater's The Dance of Eternity. The video is of the instrumental band QUADRATUM composed of 4 members of Unlucky Morpheus - Fumiya on drums, Jill on violin, Jinya (male) on guitar and Ogawa (male) on bass. Here is the link - ruclips.net/video/XC2A1hbuLmI/видео.html
Violin players appear in several Japanese rock and metal going back to Luna Sea their guitarist Sugizo will also play violin in some songs and has used it during some of his X-Japan performances. Ayasa plays violin in the bands East Of Eden and Morfonica. Tonerico is a project made up of two violins Jill of Unlucky Morpheus and Saori Hoshino of soLi. Kanata Yumishiro does a lot of classical songs on his RUclips channel but also plays violin, guitar and sings for Aurorize
@@DrumRoast Yoshiki the drummer for X-Japan is probably one of the most famous musicians in Japan. He is not the fastest and there are better drummers out there but he is probably one of the most musically intelligent people to step behind a kit being a high level concert pianist, classical composer, guitarist and trumpet player. He has suffered for his playing being an asthmatic it is not unheard of for him to require oxygen on stage because of over doing it. He has had to have several operations on his neck and has severe nerve damage from head banging and hitting so hard but he won't lighten up his style, doctors wanted him to quit but he persuaded them to let him continue if he wore a neck collar.
I read before that he is also the Drummer for Galneryus.... I was hoping you do him but the song Cadaver there is a whole drum cam video... Also Recommend Versailles Revenant Choir live Yuki version.
Fumiya is an amazing drummer, before being the drummer for Unlucky Morpheus he played drums for Galneryus for four years... need I say more? 😎 From the promotional t-shirts it's easy to tell that this is the end of the gig, after 90 minutes Fumiya was still going fast and furious. 😲 It's a shame that they recommended this video to you which is a piece of garbage, drum cams are not synonymous with quality... Unlucky Morpheus has many other top quality live videos where you would have enjoyed Fumiya and the band much more. 😕
"drum cams are not synonymous with quality" I actually got good quality suggestions too,I just ended up picking this one and shot myself in the foot because like a moth to a flame, my drumming background drew me to mostly drum cam videos with live audiences 🤣🤣🤣
May I suggest something from sokoninaru, most of their official MVs also come with a playthrough for each instrument. Shoto Saito is their drummer since 2021. suggested track: ruclips.net/video/bUV9HNa9liE/видео.html But feel free to pick any.
yes I have added their reaction, only scared of bands with big followings bc their record labels are very predatory on reaction vids like mine and could end up blocking it 🤣
Well, a few things about this group. As you noticed, Jill on violin separates them from other bands. Fuki the vocalist is also the vocalist for DOLL$BOXX. Overall they are all virtuoso musicians ... except the sound engineer who needs to be fired :p .
@@DrumRoast Doll$Boxx also includes members of Ghacharic Spin who you have already seen. The further you dig into the Japanese music scene the more connections and friendships you will find between musicians and that it is not uncommon for people to be involved in multiple collaborations and side projects.
