- The 2501 Bernstrom giant pumpkin plant is doing well. The other two plants (1005 Clementz and 1643 New) are struggling with all of the rain we have been getting. Frogs have moved into my new patch with how wet it is. I have been continuing to bury vines on my plants and hope to have a pollination by the next weekly update!

You are owed some good breaks coming up here soon my friend. Have never seen anyone work as hard at this game as you. Good luck
Thanks! Hoping the hard work pays off.
At least you don’t need to worry about watering the new patch, haha. Maybe it’ll dry out a bit for you cause thy is rough growing
Let’s hope
My 1005 clementz started slow as well. Its only now starting to kick out secondary's with the first female at about 12 feet or so. Fingers crossed.
Hopefully my plant is really starting to kick it into gear when I want to pollinate a pumpkin.
Did you throw down any granular plant food? Maybe the lack of oxygen is the problem. Because of the flooding.
I am guessing it is the lack of oxygen. There was plenty of fertilizer put into the patch before the plants went into the ground.
I’m growing the 1643 New also and I have the same fused pumpkin/secondary as you, maybe it is genetics?
Interesting. I don’t remember having that issue with the 1643 New I grew last year. However, it had a nasty ribbon vine for one of its secondaries. That plant still produced my 1970.5 though.
Are you considering raising the patch for next year?
Really don’t know what I am going to do with that patch. We built our house 5 years ago and it has never been close to this wet. A lot of our lawn in the back of our house has standing water within the grass.
