I main Baizhu. I turned him into a hybrid so he facetanks everything with infinite heals...but now I split my time between Baizhu and Neuvillette.
My main is Wanderer, because he's my best build character. But Neuvillette is coming close to becoming my next main.
My favourite moment in this cutscene is when Clorinde asks Neuvillette if he's sure he doesn't need help. On this calamitous occasion which threatens to destroy the whole country if not more, he takes two more steps forward, without looking back for a second, and calmly but sternly responds "Quite sure." He fully understands he is the only person who can stop this, and feels that it is his duty, and yet after he does he seems melancholic, asking for forgiveness that he's done it. Absolute expert work from Ray Chase, singlehandedly convinced me to finally switch to english voice-over. lol
I'm really curious who was he apologizing to. We already know he's the Sovereign but he says the sentence is to severe was he apologizing to Egeria the previous archon or Furina?

I just really like how they portrayed Neuvi‘s power here.
Freezing huge waves is nothing new, we’ve seen Shenhe do it as early back as the Liyue Arc (simpler times… oh dear…).
Neuvillette is way more powerful. Instead of freezing it he halts it in mid air and then - not only does he "walk it back", he effectively inverts the flow, overruling cosmic judgement itself in doing so as the sovereign of that element.
It perfectly demonstrates his current role as the strongest entity currently in the game.

What's crazy about Clorinde shooting that console is how narrow her window was. Too soon, and Wriothesley gets caught with the Water, dissolved, and there's no Cryo Vision to stall with for Neuvillette. Too late, and the gates are overrun and both of them dissolve. Either result would be catastrophic and potentially apocalyptic for Fontaine.
She's definitely crazy strong. Childe also says they spared but he could tell she was holding back
Clorinde is electro. The reaction between cryo and electro is superconduct in the game, which does an AoE of cryo, which would help Wriothesley to freeze a wider area of the water. OOOOR just there to quickly shut the whole area down since she's really fast lmao
The way I see it is that the mechanics need some sort of power to work. If the water shorts it in other places, Clorinde can act as a battery

Also since she is a sharpshooter she probably has great eyesight, which would mean she can see where the cracks are forming and allow Wrio to focus on the weak points before they break

Wriothesley and Clorinde made a bet about how many people Neuvillette would bring with him, and it turned out that he came alone. Wriothesley won because Neuvillette came alone, so I'm guessing the look is connected to that. Clorinde asked Neuvillette if he needs help because she wanted to win the bet.
Wriothesley definitely knows Neuvillete isn't human

My favorite detail is that neuvillette’s feet did not move at all as he took on that torrent of water. He held is ground, sturdy as a rock. And after he made the water submit to his will, he calmly shepherded it back and resealed it. Absolutely love it!

Wriothesley and Clorinde probably made their bet during the time when Traveler and Paimon were fetching Neuvillette while they were both busy keeping an eye on the frozen gate.
After Neuvillette sealed the Primordial Sea water, there was a small scene where they determined the winner of said bet. You were looking for some interactions between their characters, we'd say Neuvillette, Wriothesley, and Clorinde knew each other enough to make bets, joke around, and give each other gifts.
Also, right now, I'm maining Neuvillette 🛐👀🔥
I played this on jp dub so I just realize there's different context between jp and en dub. On the jp dub clorinde ask Neuvillette if he's really came alone because of bet she makes with wriothesley. But as for the en dub Clorinde asks Neuvillette if he needs a hand or not.

Definitely one of my favourite cutscenes from Genshin. Compared to the few ones from 3 years ago, these are on another level. It's great seeing them grow and improve like that.
Neuvillette, Wriothesley and Clorinde is the power trio I didn't know I needed but I'm very glad we got it lol
This is such an amazing scene. Ray Chase's lines were so well done... the emotion is so real it gives me goosebumps.
I only pull and play characters i really like, and I seem to like some that you don't XD. My mains are Childe, Wanderer, Diluc, Alhaitham and now Neuvillette.
And Neuvilette is likely stronger then all characters lore wise.
Clorinde (woman in purple) has an electro vision, so lightning.

The water they're fighting off is the Primordial Sea, which pretty much melts people from Fontaine if they touch it.
The prophecy of the destruction of Fontaine by the Primordial Sea was given by the previous Archon of Hydro, Egeria, to her successor, Furina, though it is unknown if this "tsunami of wrath" was her will or not- probably not.
Neuvillete knows a lot more stuff than he lets on because of him being the reincarnation of the Hydro Dragon Sovereign, which is the original being that ruled over Hydro.
If you're doing in-game cutscenes, other big ones are "Moment of Life or Death", "First Sage of Buer", "A Dream of Falling Branches", "Homecoming", "A Wish Upon Shooting Stars", and "At the Tempest's Crux", I'd also recommend two older trailers called "Tsubaki in Thawing Snow" and "Endless Suffering" that use the Live2D style.
Nice moment was the slight nod while running telling her to make a shot, and then a hint that Worcestershire knows Neuvillette's secret but noticed he wasnt happy about it being exposed. And how Neuvi over rulled ...probably previous dragon's sentence for the Fontain. ... these 2 cut scenes tell is a LOT. Also... my prediction for Gatcha is that Clorinde will probably work well with W's skill ...maybe ending his cooldowns sooner via her electeo powers? Or boosting it?
Clorinde (the female character) is an electro character. I'm personally still unsure of what she was supposed to do to back Wriothesley up at the door (beyond shooting it locked for him, hah) but I guess they figured having a capable Vision wielder was better than no backup at all and she was already present in that area for other reasons.
Neuvillette is indeed very powerful and I can't wait to see what else he does in the story.
My "main" is probably Kazuha, for the record, but I've been having a lot of fun trying Neuvillette out since I got him on the banner the other day.
Oh yeah, and I had been thinking that exchange of looks between Wrio and Clorinde behind Neuvi's back was sort of them going, "of COURSE he's going to do this on his own. How surprising. Not."
There's also a little scene that comes after this where they comment that they'd made a bet on whether Neuvi would bring any entourage with him so maybe it's just them having a silent exchange on "well I guess I won the bet, guess you did," kind of thing. :)
I think she is there for 2 reasons, electro x cryo reaction actually deals aoe cryo damage, aka it helps spread ice, so she could help him generate more ice,
and if we say thats just a game mechanic and would not work in the story, then she is there simply to help escape quickly, electro characters are always fast, and we have already seen her speed in a cutscene where she just rushes through all the guardamechs, so we know she could help wrio escape if the water was too fast for him.
@@darekpoweryeap this is one of the reasons, the other is that canonically (as seen in the Genshin manga) vision users aren’t limited to attacks; In the manga, Amber used her vision to make a barrier/shield, and so Chlorinde could’ve also made an electro barrier to buy time for just a bit longer until Neuvillette arrives.
that look maybe means a bit of both. they are close to him personally but he rarely uses his power so they probably never seen it.
i heard that the final lines from neuvillette of the 4.0 quest (the quest before this) completely changed ray chase's perspective of the character so he asked to rerecord all of the previous lines and they let him.
Actually this water is "primordial sea" and it dissolves every fontanian, Fontaine is newest region, come out only 1,5 month ago
Hi have you done the perilous trail finale cutscene. It’s from the chasm event with Xiao, Yelan, Yanfei, Itto, Kuki and ofc the traveler. Its called “moment of life or death”. I think you might like it if you like this.
10:18 they are looking at eachother because they made a bet. Wriothesely said that Neuvillette will come alone while Chlorinde made a bet that he will at least bring two people with him. Since he came alone that means Wriothesely won. They are looking at eachother because of the bet ☠️ it's amazing how every Fontaine character is so serious and chill at the same time.

I think reacting to the cutscene at the end of Neuvillette's story quest would be cool too, but that relies on a lot of context from the quest itself.
This was an *EPIC* cutscnene. A thrilling one. And all of the English voices fit SOOOOOOOOOOO well.

(SPOILERS FOR THE ARCHON QUEST PT4)
Im just gonna give you an rough rundown of the history of genshin, for some context. Teyvat, the continent genshin is set on, was once ruled by elemental dragons, and there were 7 dragon "soverigns", one of each element, and they were the strongest beings of said element. Then the "primordial one" came and went to war with said dragons, and won, taking control of teyvat, and seizing a part of the soverigns elemental power, using that as the basis for the archons "authority" (this is the term we are given in game, we dont really know 100% what it means). Neuvillette is the reincarnation of the hydro soverign, who was born in human form. This is why in his teaser her says " i neither know why i was born in this form". So hes basically the strongest hydro being in the game, surpassing the hydro archon. The funny thing is, hes not even at his full strength. Due to the dragons power being taken, he "doesnt have his full dragonhood". Only if the hydro archon dissapeared, and gave his authority back would he be at full strength.
Kind of makes me think. If the Archons are using a fragment of the sovereigns‘ power in their gnoses to be the gods of said element, how strong must the dragons truly be?
Consider the following: Zhongli literally shaped Liyue. He erected these mountains you can see all across the region. If this was the power given to him by the gnosis, the actual geo dragon must be stupendously powerful.
Neuvillette is the hydro dragon, the dragons used to rule the world until they were overthrown, some of their power was locked away into gnosis which the archons have, the gnosis elevating their power to beyond the power of the other gods. So basically you have dragons who are stronger then archons, who are stronger then your standard gods. So how strong is he? he is basically the strongest character we have ever seen in the game as he is the first dragon that is playable. and lore wise, only a handful of beings (other dragons, and the beings that overthrew the dragons) are on the same level or stronger. Now yeah he is not at full capacity, none of the dragons are, as a portion of their power is in the gnosis. But they are still plenty strong compared to normal humans, gods or archons.
Should he be stronger than the archons after being weakened?
I mean Apep is stronger than Nahida for sure but could Neuvi, who is a descendant of the original hydro dragon, be stronger than someone like Zhongli?
Just asking, tbh I don't really know what to think. I said Zhongli bc he is probably the stronger archon that we know even after retirement
The problem with Neuvillette was that he maybe stronger than the Archons but he probably does not have enough chances to show his entire strength to us. He did now that he sealed the Primordial Sea water. Why he could not solve Fontaine's prophecy is because the prophecy might be too complex for him to unravel on his own or it is beyond his current power to handle.
Also, Zhongli is known to be the oldest (at 6000+ years old as an Archon) but it does not mean that he is the strongest.
Neuvillette is also a successor to the previous Hydro Dragon, and he turned to human, too, so his power as a dragon might not be as powerful as the original dragon. Better comparison is Apep rather than Zhongli.
I think Neuvillette is at least on the same par with the strongest archons, at this moment. Just like Ei effortlessly killing Signora, Neuvillette slapped Tartaglia down effortlessly.
And I don't think Neuvillette is a descendant, he is the reincarnated Hydro Dragon Sovereign despite him saying that he is the 'successor'. It's more like, he referring to himself as the successor due to his reincarnation in human form instead of his old Dragon form like Apep. Still, he is the same OG. OG in soul, but new in body form.

I saw someone point out that the layer of ice on the door had gotten thicker between when traveller is sent to get neuvillette and when neuvillette arrives, implying wriothesley had been freezing more of the water constantly the entire time !
13:04 The answer to that is: He is the Hydro Dragon, Not just any hydro dragon but The OG "Dragon Sovereign of Water" the one before the Archons, before the Primordial ones. The one of the 7 sovereign that Once ruled this land.
He's not the OG Hydro Sovereign, he's the new one.

The way I understand it is... Neuvillette is the same OG Hydro Dragon Sovereign as he used to be back then when the Seven Dragon Sovereigns still ruled Tevyat. Reincarnation in human form instead of in his old dragon form like Apep, made him referring to himself as 'successor' (if he claims he is a descendant instead of the hydro sovereign himself, then he has no right to claim himself as the hydro dragon sovereign. but here we are, listening to him claiming that he is indeed the hydro dragon sovereign).
It's more like, Neuvillette is still the same OG hydro dragon sovereign in soul, but at the same time new in human form. That's what I understand about Neuvillette's reincarnation lore.
@@sakurahirawa I dont think so, Neuvillette said he doesn't know anything from the old Sovereigns' perspective and he's their successor. And the lore found in Enkanomiya said the new generation of Sovereigns was being born. There probably is a way for him to gain some of the first Sovereign's memories/knowledge if he gets the authority back.
Clorinde (The mommy beside Wriothesley) is a electro character.
Her contribute probably electricity which makes the ice thicker and harder
I'm just waiting for Navia so I can make a whole Fontainian team. The region, the quests and characters are definetely my favourites of all. There were epic scenes before, but I feel like we get more and more details and between characters interactions, whichc is super fun.
My three favourite characters are Venti, Lyney, and Furina. Also my mains.
Followed by Neuvillete, Kaveh and Itto. I don't have these three yet...

Ive always add the little flavor of character they did to Wriothesley when he rolls his neck preparing for the onslaught of water. It so subtle but i really liked it. 3:24

My favorite character is Xiao, and he's my main. But I also love a lot of the characters, including Neuvillette and Zhongli. I also really liked Wriothesley - and the moment with Neuvillette, Wriothesley, and Clorinde was hilarious to me! XD
