This is literally one of e coolest things I’ve ever seen. And even though it doesn’t have any effect on performance, those red shelves look sooooo good! 😁
Nice find! Happy for you! If you don't have them already, get some Desiccant Silica Gel packs in those cases. Will help with the temperature fluctuations from cold/hot storage to cold/hot shoots, in or outside.
I'd gut the shelves and do a major reconstruct with the shelving materials. I've seen other video production carts that are super dialed into the gear and maximizing space. I doesn't look like you can load a production cart in and out? Nice find though! Totally jealous!!!
Having a truck does not mean to be putting all your eggs in one basket, might be risky. My advice to you is to prepare propessional check lists for different types of projects, these can guide you to take what are relevant to a particular job.
It looks like the perfect 'next step' for your production company. Not only is it amazingly convenient, it exudes a professional image. Just like breaking out a fully kitted camera sets a professional tone, so does pulling up to a site in a dedicated production van. Super happy for you!!
YES! Those shelves look dope! Although its only a matter of time till you get a couple carts and you gotta remove one side of shelves. The do and redo never stops :)
Great find with the pre fitted shelves! I picked up a Transit connect about 5 years ago, moving on from a car like yourself. Its a great little van but I did outgrow it pretty fast honestly. The only upside I have with the small van is city shoots or tight spaces. I can fit this thing in spots people would struggle to fit cars. I will get another year or so out of it and then move on to something larger.
congrats on your new van. I just bought one myself (vw caddy maxi) and its nice to see how you're going about utilising yours. Look forward to more content around this!
There is on the sliding door side! I’ve considered removing the shelves on that side to put in a work area, but for right now, I’m working with the narrow walkway!
Oh man... I have gone up and down the rabbit hole on these vans vs a truck vs my current minivan. Buying higher mileage vehicles always scares me, but so does $50k-$100k for a work vehicle. Question, in your geographic area, any concerns about the heat and humidity inside the vehicle? I am in the carolinas and fear storing sensitive eqip in a vehicle during the warmer months. Looking forward to more updates. Cheers!
Do you have production van dreams??
currently in the works. ;) but you're right: why didn't I buy this sooner?!

please have insurance, all gear in one removable unit, risky to me, like i need top flight security asap
Cool stuff 🎉
Security! Put some puck locks on the back and side doors and some kind of alarm or gps tracker system installed. Insurance also.

Wow! The seats and dash look amazing for 100,000 miles!! Use metal tool boxes for all the small stuff.

Bro I LOVE IT!!! Man when I got my 6x10 trailer, it took like a year to kit it out to where I was comfortable but it's SO IMPACTFUL!
Congratulations on the can! This is great!
Super dope. I'm in the market for one too. Probably get a Transit.

What a deal! But the space seems a bit narrow, is there any room for a magliner or similar?

Are you ever concerned of someone breaking in?
How is it going up steep hills? Does your warranty cover transmission issues?
It's been fine so far! and yes, warranty covers the transmission!
At 4:46-4:48 was that a huge alligator 🐊 in the water 👀
Haha, I THINK it was a giant stick but can't be sure!
