- We've built what we think to be one of the best video production vans in the world. It's a 2015 Ford Transit and is equipped with modular shelves, a power system with solar and inverter, seating for 4, drone antennas and tons more. This is a walkaround tour of the ultimate van built for filming.

Not gonna lie, I’m jealous, and I don’t even shoot video- that van is just that awesome! The countless little things that make your lives easier and making sure the mounts are interchangeable, just wow, that is some great planning and building! Next business venture: building custom work vans.

Having followed this on IG and here, this walkthrough just raises the envy levels to new heights. I remember commenting that we fly everywhere on productions so can't justify this kind of build... But that's clearly no excuse as you probably fly more than us! Urgh... Seriously impressive, the reason it works so well is because you're the client. Only somebody who works doing this very specific kind of filming would get why it has to be this way. Kudos team!

Bryn Musselwhite was originally built for 2 REDs (array). But it’s really too big. Became more of a science project.

Amazing job, very inspiring! I am working on a similar project customizing a Ford Transit. Do you mind providing more information on your choice of inverter and the power configuration?
We do primarily streaming events and want to generate our own power but Im a bit concerned about the switcher and some of the other sensitive gear we use.
We're using an AIMSPOWER 2000W pure sine wave inverter. Our streaming company has a separate similar setup in the trailer actually as a backup, but primary power is 2X 3,500W generators. The AIMS in this van actually kinda stinks - it hates generator power. It won't auto-switch to generator provided power most of the time. In my grey camper van, the slightly larger model AIMS inverter doesn't have that issue. No idea why. It works great on grid power.

What battery are you running in the digi cart ? How many hours are you getting from the remote battery ?

This production build is beast mode. For those location shoots that are in hotels, high rises etc where you have to drive up several floors to park, this truck is too high to enter parking garages. What solution do you employ to transport gear from ground to high rises or buildings? Also wondering what security alarm systems would be best for these kind of vehicles.
Yea. High rise hotels stink. We try to avoid those. Good example. Say Las Vegas. Don't stay in a casino. There's a nice Hampton Inn with an outdoor parking lot on the other side of I-15. We book around parking, security and ease of use for all hotels and lodging for sure! Nothing worse than having to lug 20 cases up 2 elevators and 3 hallways when the bell-cart is missing!
What model antenna did you select? love the build!
It's a Laird Phantom Fin. There's a few options on frequencies and ports. Ours is GPS/2.4/5.8/LTE & UHF 380-440)
This is insane ... we're buying a ford transit right now but we still have to figure out the customizations. Can I ask how much did it cost a customization like this? thank you in advance.
