    THANK YOU - finally, something actually similar to an Inovativ for a fraction of the cost. And being able to get everything for the basic build from a single store is a big deal. Definitely will be copying this build

    Possibly getting this for audio. Anything to avoid buying another rock n go. Thanks for this vid! Awesome stuff. Plus thanks for showing it can be used with a ramp as that's what I currently do for my live sound stuff

    Thank you for this! I followed this set up as I have a van and it works perfectly. I put a bar 3” below the top so I can slide all my c-stands. Fits 5 no problem!

    Have you ever tried attaching a cstand or low combo in that cart? I'm wondering if it's strong enough to hold it

  • @davidp158
    @davidp158 Год назад

    Nice cart idea. I have a large RockNRoller Stealth cart that has served me well, but I’d love to have a cart to work from once gear is unloaded. Do you find your cart is able to carry as much gear with 2 shelves as your former RockNRoller cart with only 2 shelf?

    • @t_c
      @t_c  Год назад +1

      It carries a lot more gear than my RockNroller cart! The main advantage is having 2 shelves, the top shelf you can stack almost as high as you would like since there is nothing above it. You have to be strategic about how you pack it, but it definitely holds way more.

  • @thegloryboyspodcast

    Okay so we just did this exact build - it’s sick! We sticker bombed ours and it looks rad but my one minor concern is the sheet metal at the bottom.
    Even when turning the wheels there is some flex in the bottom of the tray on the swivel side with it being offset. and I’m wondering if that gets worse with time or if this cart is still holding up well for you?

    • @t_c
      @t_c  Год назад +1

      That’s awesome! I’m glad you like it. I’ve been using mine weekly and hasn’t been an issue for me. I put my sandbags and grip gear on the first shelf which may help any flex you’re getting. I think the way you distribute your gear is more important with a build like this. I suppose if you are really concerned you could add some wood in the tray of the bottom, or add reinforcement metal below between the bottom of the tray and the wheels.
      Keep me posted with what you come up with!

    • @upsiddwn
      @upsiddwn Год назад +2

      I created the same cart over 6 years ago and I did add aluminum 90 degree rail around the lower shelf/tray to reinforce the cart from flexing when loaded. I attached the rail via holes I made that also hold the wheels I added. I also bolted the rail to the cart along the bottom edge half way from the corners. I went with the 8" pneumatic wheels.

      @@t_c The rail is on the inside of the bottom tray, covered by the lower carpet so can not see it

    What is the current height from the floor to the very top of the cart?

    • @t_c
      @t_c  Год назад

      It is about 43-45 inches off the ground (no equipment on top shelf)

  • @JS-rh6cs

    Where did you mount the other 2 super clamps? Because in the upper shelf there is only the side usable without the handle? So did you mount the other two on the sides or on the down shelf?

    • @t_c
      @t_c  11 месяцев назад +2

      Sorry, I should have clarified this - I have 4 superclamps on the side opposite of the handle. 2 on the upper shelf side and 2 on the lower shelf side - this way you can attach a stand vertically and clamp the top and bottom of the stand.

    I tried this but returned. The metal was too thin and didn't give me a lot of confidence with long-term use.

    • @t_c
      @t_c  8 месяцев назад

      Understandable, I have been feeling the same way too since I've been using it every week for the last 7 months. Adding a sheet of plywood underneath or stronger metal sheet will do wonders, so I am going to try that at some point. But for now, it has been killing it!

    So how does it fold down for travel. To me the mean function of the innovative carts are their ability to fold down, and quickly re-assemble,

    • @t_c
      @t_c  7 месяцев назад

      If you watched the video, I mentioned it does not collapse (being the main downside). If you want to fold it down, drop another $1-2k for the innovativ or get a Proaim cart : )

      @@t_c Actually, I own 3 of the Inovativ carts already. Not knocking you ...I did what you did about 10 years ago but I used the rubbermaid carts.

  • @thekylenovak
    @thekylenovak 11 месяцев назад

    I wouldn't even begin to compare this to an innovative. I think this would be more described as a rubbermaid alternative. Good find though. For anyone else that may not know, you have rubbermaids, rock n rollers, magliners, backstage carts, yaegers and sons, yaeger pro, camera jimmys, innovativ, and true innovativ alternative would be like a pro aim or adicam cart.
