Your videos I think are informative and provide good instruction. This will be very helpful when I install an RS3 grill to my S3 in the coming weeks. Perfect time too, to install my Maxton front splitter while the bumper is off.
Great tutorial mate. That said, you absolutely don't have to remove the bumper. Simply unscrew the front half of the fender liner (or remove the whole thing if you want), fold it back, and you've got direct access to the bulb access cap. Easily half the time of removing the bumper. Highly recommended.
Peter, I was just about to have to pull this to install my lip properly and vinyl my front grill! Thanks for the share, will be using this in just a few weeks!
Nice one Peter! One to help you provide more clarity in your videos, the aim is not to criticise but to improve your future content; the screws you keep referring to as star type are actually torx screws (6 sides). Star screws only have 5 sides and the inside of the head looks like a star.
Hey Syed, no offense taken at all. When I am filming my videos, I tend to get lost for words. Perhaps I should put together a bloopers video. Then you'll see that I call screws all sorts of things. LOL. Thanks for the suggestion and support!
Forgive me for asking a silly question but is unplugging the sensors enough to ensure the actuators are not activated. I worry disturbing the sensors unplugging and plugging back in could activate the actuators, and if activated the actuators are expensive to replace not to mention having to reprogramme the computer safety system. Your help would be greatly appreciated because I have a 2020 S3 and thinking of changing the grill.
Actuators are located either side of the car running parallel with the upper hood below the windscreen, they are part of the safety system designed to lift the hood upon impact to avoid a pedestrian going through the windscreen.
@@carlopegna9653 Thank you for explaining what the actuators do. Frankly, I do not believe this model was equipped with it. Due to this fact, I cannot answer your initial question.
Sorry this is off topic my friend . I am looking at buying a injen intake for my S3 . I have read there is water drainage issues. Did you have any of these problems? If so, how did you resolve them. I like this unit and think it’s one of the best for the S3. I live where there is snow and a lot of precipitation yearly. Cheers
Lee, for as long as I owned the Injen, I had no issues with water drainage. Even when I lived in Seattle where there's more moisture, I did not have issues.
Hello sir, please if you can help with your answer🙏🏻.I have a audi a3 s line 2015 model. @ Pascal, the bumper should come off. I think the shop forgot to remove the inside screws that hold the bumper in place. Check out my video again around 2:10. There will be a few bolts which need to be removed.
Hello there, yes, it's possible to retro the 8V FL onto the PFL chassis. I had a client who recently performed this. I will warn you though, it's expensive, will require *slight* modification, and will need to be coded.
@@AlexPaimus there are a few plastic tabs. Can you tell me which ones? Are they the ones inside of the bumper or are they the ones on the top upper grill, etc...
@@AlexPaimus The first thing I would recommend, install the bumper and usel two of the screws that hold the bumper to the grill. DO NOT tighten them, just loosely screw them in as it gives support to holding the bumper up. From there, slide the bumper in one side at a time. If you take a look at 7:09, you'll see the protrusions from the bumper that need to slide inside the rail.
Great video - having some issues now realigning the bumper back into the car - I seem to be left with a gap under the headlights - are you able to share the technique of how re apply the bumper back onto the car ? It is driving me mad ! Thank you !
Sorry for the late reply Rao30. You're probably having gap between your headlights because the edge of the bumper is not flush with the front fender. When you put the bumper on, first make sure it fits properly with the front grill. Then loosely install the bumper/grill bolts. Then work on the edges and make sure they are aligned and flush with the fender. This should make everything align up well. Give it a try!

Hey Peter. Have you ever noticed a sizzling kind of noise in the engine bay back near the turbo after driving and turning the engine off? I have an 2016 S3 and recently I’ve noticed it but cannot figure out what it is. It seems to stop as soon as the I’m assuming CAN bus finally shuts down.
@ Z S, yes, I hear that buzz every time I shut my car off. As you stated, once the CANBUS system completely shuts down, that buzzing/sizzling goes away. It's completely normal. Even my wife's BMW does this.
You will need a thin flat-head screwdriver to pop out the clips. Take your time and be very cautious as the clips break easy. Go one by one and slowly pull until the entire grill separates.
