      With the amount of cargo ebikes out on the market, this is something we are looking to show. When we get one at home in Wisconsin, we will definitely put the handling to the test.

      All the aventon and letric videos about the cargo bikes have never had cargo on them. I imagine lots of cargo with a small gear range and all the weight over the motors is not going to be the best with hills.

    I just purchased the Aventon Abound today. I walked into the bike shop to look at another bike, but when I test drove the abound, I was sold! Such a smooth, quick, and powerful bike with different settings to choose from for your journey like echo, cruise sport, and turbo. I also installed the kid rail seat in the back and took my some son on a nice long journey, which he loved to death. He didn't want to go home while we were out cruising.
    Money well spent!

      I’d like to know if anyone can tell me how Abound or Expedition is for smaller females to handle. I dont consider myself small but on the smaller side with lesser upper body strength. I can’t find any to test ride and have no idea how these handle and w cargo.

      @@finallythere100Hi! I’m a 5’4 mom of 3 littles…I just bought the Abound strictly because I felt I could handle and control it better. I previously test rode the Radwagon Cargo e-bike which is about 10 inches longer in length and I felt overpowered. The Abound felt like a great fit for me, and my kids have been enjoying rides around our very hilly neighborhood.

    Does this compare to the Lectric Expedition?

    • @EbikeEscape
      @EbikeEscape  Год назад +1

      It is a bit of higher spec'd product, besides the smaller battery. If you are looking for range, the Lectric is our top choice. If you are looking for a bit of a more polished and feature rich ebike, the Abound is a better choice.
      It is hard as the value proposition of the Lectric is really good. But the design and included accessories of the Aventon are really nice.
      Honest question for you: What are some important things to you when picking between cargo ebikes?

    I have had my abound for a few weeks and have about 500 miles on it. I absolutely love it. It has a bit of a front end wobble, but that seemed to have abated when I added the front rack. I think it might be a weight distribution issue that needed a tad more weight on the front end. It is great for grocery shopping with the large cargo rack on back.

      @Jan-pj7gn apply the brakes lightly. That seemed to stop the wobble. Putting some of my weight on the front helps, but is awkward because I am short. But the front basket made it almost completely stop wobbling. I really think it just needs a little more weight over the front fork.

      How important do you think the suspension is tho? I was going to get the expedition, but (looks aside) I like the chain guard and feature on Abound that keeps the chain from slapping, I’m don’t know if my concerns are warranted, but wondering about chain gunk, and the chain falling off on me. Also wondering about suspension bc of not good for me to have spine impact and lots of potholes fixed and bumpy where I live. Also abound has Tektra hydraulic brakes, idk how important that is. But it’s heavier . And idk if an 81 pound bike is hard for a woman to handle and then w cargo, Aventon does come w running boards. I want to know what others say..

    Thanks for the review. What car hitch do you use? Have you tried to put 2 cargo bikes on a car hitch/rack? Appreciate your advice, thanks!

    • @EbikeEscape
      @EbikeEscape  11 месяцев назад

      Ryan uses the QuikrStuff Mach2 and I (JT) use the Saris MHS. Both could accommodate 2 cargo bikes, but you might run into accessory interference (like kid area or rear baskets). So you might have to take those off for transport.
      Overall weight and capacity, for the rack is going also depend upon vehicle hitch weight capacity. But both the racks we use have a 70-80lbs per bike capacity. The Abound, especially with the battery removed, is on the lighter side. So it shouldn’t have a problem on the racks above, assuming your vehicle can handle a +250lbs hitch weight.

    I am glad that you keep mentioning the weld finish quality of the Aventon bikes. Their good looks are always worth a shout out. I wish my new cargo bike was pretty like an Aventon but mine looks like it was designed for World War 2. I got this Aventon beat on specs though. Got the suspension fork and hydraulic Tektros like the Abound. But mine came with 1000w Bafang hub and 34ah of Samsung batteries. Does 28mph off the throttle, has a lot of range, and climbs hills well. Rides smooth on fat 20x4 tires too. I'm not sorry that I chose function over style but it would be nice to have both.

    For $2200.00 you better see hydraulic brakes and front fork suspension. kind of of a wimpy little light for $2200.00. Those cables need to be cleaned up, they will get caught on things, potentially pulling you off the bike. that cable management is horrible! Why talk about folding bike and narrow handle bars when you are not reviewing a folding bike? compare the handlebars to other bikes in the same class... So far not a single word about those squeaky brakes.Two dimensional video doesn't tell or show the angle (steepness) of the route, the review needs an angle finder on the front cargo rack.

    • @finallythere100
      @finallythere100 Год назад

      If I get this bike (imminently) I plan to try to wrap those cables, you are right about that. I believe that the Tetra hydraulic brakes are supposed to be better than the Expedition, but not sure how much that factors in. A concern of mine is getting spiked from the chain, the chain slapping and falling off , so it might seem silly but the chain guard and other feature is a big deal. Yeah about the squeaky brakes! I don’t care so much for the extra sporty look bc I don’t want to be stopped a lot as one reviewer said would happen bc bike looks so good. Another I’d be paying for is the service for a while at local dealer shop. Do you think suspension is important w smaller wheels?
