I greatly appreciate you referring to polygraph tests as nonsense. That is exactly what they are, and I truly wish their use could be outlawed. Any person on the APD spectrum can pass one with flying colors even if they are guilty of the alleged crime, whereas anyone who suffers from anxiety or is of a hypersensitive nature can easily fail polygraph even if innocent. I would imagine that many innocent people would feel freaked out (I know, not a clinical term, lol) just by virtue of being questioned by police. Many absolutely upstanding citizens have an inherent (and well earned) fear of the police and can feel extremely anxious just walking into a precinct. The fact that police keep using polygraphs is a bullying tactic which, in my opinion, only delays the process of getting to the truth.

I'd probably fail the polygraph test if they'd ask me whether I kidnapped the Lindbergh baby. And thinking of polygraph testing being used is just insane. It's like in Early Modern times they used to think that torture helps to find the truth.

    • @buttersstotch6752
      @buttersstotch6752 2 года назад +1

Polygraphs should be defined as "just rattling their cage to see what shakes loose" when used by police with a vested interest towards incrimination rather than verifying information. The idea isn't to qualify any facts, it's just to apply pressure to weakness, create inconsistencies and doubts.

I always thought she joined that Nvxivm cult where women join to be sex slaves, and they rejected her for not being compliant, leaving her on the side of the road. It is the only explanation that fits everyone's actions. Evidence shows she willingly went (folded up earbuds on phone), husband wasn't involved, police certain these "kidnappers" aren't patrolling the streets snatching more women. The cult was already in the hands of the feds (and don't kidnap women off the street), so the local police would have nothing to do with it. The only problem is that the cult brands their woman on their pubic bone, not the shoulder....
I suppose a lover gone wrong could be an option, but after beating her for a month, starving her, branding her, and providing her his DNA, the situation sounds implausible. People capable of such violence usually don't hesitate to tie up loose ends. Not to mention the police should be worried this freak would harm another woman and they aren't worried at all. The Nvxivm cult on the other hand, collects compromising material on their members, so that they will never tell a soul the truth about what they went through (like Scientology).

You know it's kinda sick to be talking about someone like this. There is literally no way you can be sure what happened, so try to consider that who you're talking about could very well be a victim, however unlikely that might seem to you. There have been other abductions where no one believes the victim and it turns out to be true, or they were hiding something but they were still abducted, sometimes abused. Just chill. Not everything needs to be said. If you're right then ok cool I guess? Congrats? If you're wrong you're being crude and cruel towards someone who really was a victim, and whose experience may very well be worsened by people like you, because what you say may affect how other people view the victim (sometimes people from the very town in which they live), and they or their family could come across it. I can't understand how an empathetic person would see that risk as worthwhile for a joke that isn't even funny.

I've looked into this case, in detail, for years and looked at pretty much everything that's publicly available about it. There is absolutely NO way you can tell whether or not this actually happened. Have you considered how horrible it'd be if it turned out to be true and you didn't believe her, basically implying she's a liar? Did you even know that a classmate of hers was also abducted on the same trail years earlier? Have you considered she could be lying and still have been abducted? The earphones, which many point to as showing she wasn't abducted, are not even conclusive evidence-- if there were 2+ kidnappers one could've just wrapped them up so there would be no "signs of struggle", or she could've wrapped them up and THEN been grabbed and simply dropped them. Anything is possible. You guys should come up with theories, but you shouldn't think you "know", or imply you know, what you don't KNOW, and is rather a mere theory.

Yes, Dr. Grande's theory at the end of the video sounds quite probably to me, indeed. On the other hand - it isn't a rare case that what actually later is found out to be the truth, impressed as the most unlikely thing at first. Our world often turns out to be a quite bizarre one. I can relate to everyone who is careful in his/her judgement here.

My friend, David, who has since passed away was kidnapoed when He was around six years old, his sister was around eight and and his baby brother, Nick was around ten months. Their mother needed to get a few things from the grocery store. It was winter and cold so she left the kids in the backseat with the heater on and the car running. A man saw the car running and stole the car. Then the kids made such a racket screaming at the man that he ditched the kids about a hundred miles away but kept the car. They found the man in the stolen car. He did 20 years in prison. David csnd his siblings kept the newspaper articles and always could make a conversation when things got dull about being kidnapped. It happens. This was in the early 1960's

Thank you, Dr. Grande, for sharing your insight in this curious situation, though certainly not the first of it's kind. On Wikipedia, a Fake Kidnapping is defined as a kidnapping that has been staged by the victim. Wikipedia also gives a list of Notable incidents. Joanna Grenside, an aerobics teacher from England, staged her disappearance a few days before Christmas in 1992. She suffered from the eating disorder Bulimia, and wanted to avoid the overindulgence of food that went on at Christmas parties. Another example is Karol Sanchez a 16 year old girl who, in December 2019 had two young adult men pretend to abduct her in front of her mother. Her motive was apparently she did not want to move to Honduras with her mom. In the Papini case, I agree that the police are reluctant to dismiss her story as fake, on the chance that it is true. It's better to err on the side of caution. Take the story of Marie Adler, who was 18 when she was tied up, blind folded and raped by a masked knifeman who broke into her bedroom as she slept. The police branded her a liar and charged her for "making a false report". Years and many more rapes later, police arrest a suspect in an other rape and discover he took photos of each of his victims, including Marie. Oops...

Was the basement she thought she was in really the belly of the ship? Were the alien lizard people gifted with shape shifting when in human form so they could change from female to male? It would explain everything. Enquiring minds-these such things are reported in the Enquirer-want to know.

Dr. G, as always, you bring us quality content in a way that examines the various factors, personality traits, what evidence is known, and what evidence is not. You are always fair and unbiased, whilst also sharing your own educated thoughts infused with discernment you garner from your emotional intelligence (not everyone is capable of the latter, as an unfortunate number of people lack both emotional intelligence and discernment).
Thank you for covering this case. I’ve found this case to be a most curious, unusual, and disturbing case. I’d like to add that, anything is possible. Those arguing that Sheri couldn’t possibly have willingly left, harmed herself, lost that amount of weight, etc- Clearly, they’ve not heard of the case of Canadian nurse, Cindy James. Her case and death were covered on a rather popular Unsolved Mysteries segment, 30+ years ago. There were also books written about her case. Speaking of Cindy James, though it’s an older case from the 1980s, I would be delighted to hear your take on it. Her story and death have perplexed and disturbed me since I was a child watching Unsolved Mysteries with my Grandfather. Maybe you’ll look into it and consider covering it for a future video? Pretty please! 🙏🏻

Catherine Herrick Excellent point. When I used to attempt to have discussions with people who believed in a particular conspiracy theory-I gave up making finally accepting it didn’t matter how logical and simple my points were HE/SHE wanted to believe in that particular conspiracy and I was wasting my time so stopped engaging no matter how tempted I was-anyway, when I naively still had hope at helping these misguided persons, I always introduced Occam’s Razor. It’s off topic to go into those discussions here but mainly at that time it was the conspiracies surrounding the 9/11 tragedy and the Twin Towers collapsing practically straight down when a commercial airliner was purposely crashed into each tower.
Their theories surrounding this were so ridiculously complicated, truly impossible, plus the various reasons believed as to why this was done and how many people that would have had to have been involved to bring down the towers in their ‘conspiracy’ but unbelievably not one of the hundreds that would have been needed to be involved to accomplish their ‘theory’ has leaked so much as a word about the conspiracy, immediately had me introducing Occam’s Razor...SMH...to no avail. Again this is perfect for this story, as the simplest explanation is usually the right one. A good example, President Trump lost the election to President Biden because more American citizens voted for Joe Biden. Thanks for your comment.

@@deemariedubois4916 except, we know for a fact, that the constitution states only legislature can determine election practices and judicial bodies determined it. This was the entire basis for the Texas lawsuit the Supreme Court chose not to hear, not based on merit, but based on standing/jurisdiction.
Razor doesn’t apply here. We have verifiable facts you simply ignore or deny and you call those who state the facts conspiracy theorists, inappropriately.
Pennsylvania judicial branch implemented voting procedures. 14th amendment of constitution states only the legislature can. SCOTUS exists to resolve issues like this and refused to do its appointed duty.
Under the conditions pa judicial branch set forth, Biden won. Under the conditions of the constitution, he did not. That is the crux
