That is one of the places that you could say "If these walls could talk". George Jones lived for years in my home town in FL. He used to lose his drivers license and drive his lawnmower to the bar. People would pass him all the time riding the lawnmower down the road. Great stories Jordan. Thanks for sharing about these places. Awesome as always!
Hi Jordan, what a lovely mural of all those greats! Oh my, I can't believe all those photos, records and signed photos on all the walls of Tootsie's, so much music history there. I could of just sat, had a beer and listened to the music in Tootsie's. So nice they have some photos of Tootsie aswell. What an AMAZING grave of George Jones, boy, that sure is some memorial. Great vlog Jordan.
What a wonderful and rich history country music has. The The generosity, support and love the country music musicians have for each other is awe inspiring. They would help each other and by that they helped their selves was also. Another wonderful vlog. Looking forward to the next.
That huge mirophone and statues. Your right those country people would have had some good laughs in the day and even though some have passed on you vlogging keeps the memories open.....big thank you
Another wonderful vlog. I love all the old bars you went in. There aren't places like these much anymore. You just have to wonder how much awesome music was played in these places? I love your story about Sue. It's a great story. I just watch the TV special you talk about here. What a wonderful program. Sadly we don't have music like this anymore. Gone are the days of a bunch of guys getting to together and just sing and play. I wish we could go back to these days. Thank you for going to these places and telling these stories. Maybe we won't loose it all if more people hear about the good old days. Safe travels and take care.
Like a kid in a toy shop, happy. all that music history in one street, for a music lover you had to get here, glad you brought us with you Excellent work Respect to sue
So glad you discovered Sue Brewer and the Boar’s Nest. Sad it’s no longer there. It’s amazing to realize the influence she had on so many great artists and their music. I watched “The Door is Always Open” and it’s a must see. To think it was actually filmed at the Boar’s Nest, makes it even more special. What a great tribute to a remarkable lady. The banter is truly hilarious as well. Loved all your stories about the stars and seeing the mural and buildings. Tootsies is a fantastic place! I remember her smock from your Willie Nelson and Friends vlog. The cemetery is beautiful and it was so cool hearing you sing. Thank you Jordan! What an awesome vlog!
I just watched a 5 part video on youtube with Waylon, Willie and all the singers that went to Sue's Boars Nest back in the day. It was great seeing all the greats from way back. I had not heard of the Boars Nest until Jordan's vlog. Thank you so much for this bit of history. I have loved Willie and all forever & had not heard this story!!
I live right next door to it and have my whole live. I have an obsession with collecting stuff from it. I still have my season passes, employee badges, signs from all over the park, employee yearbooks, o even have a ton of the plastic juice bottles that were in the shape of fruits and the alligator from the screamin delta demon! There are some great Opryland pages on Facebook. Check out my home video from the park on this accounts page. Found it in a pile of vhs tapes.
I love music history . Mary Sue Brewer " Tootsies " . I've been in Earnest Tubs record shop , but I've never been in Tootsies . My parent's have been in there though. Thanks Jordan for sharing a vlog about her history . She'll never be forgotten .
My Dad loved George Jones! So much so that my sister put George's CD in my Dad's coffin when he passed!! Wonderful road trip Jordan!! Thank you for sharing your bucket list with us!! Unfortunately some of the movies don't paint a very pretty picture of our stars, but life's not always pretty, and it's not my place to judge!! I will always respect them for their contributions to music!
Awesome vlog! Wish there was more people in the world like Sue.thank you for this I had forgotten how much I loved the old country singers grew up listening to these guys with my parents.
Such a shame she died so young of cancer! But they didn't have the research and treatment that we do now. Hadn't heard if her till this vlog! Great woman!
Hey Jordan, I'm happy that you included Sue Brewer in this series of vlogs. I just discovered who she was these past 6 months myself. Anyone who researches this part of history in Nashville will discover what role she had in the success & well being of these great musicians. She made sure these guys had groceries in the fridge. Thank you as she was very deserving to be noted here.
I've watched that tribute special 6 or 7 times and I thought they were saying Boy's Nest, hah. Regardless, that concert is a treasure. Emotional and hysterical. Thank you for posting this video tour!
Oh man, you hit a lot of history today. I loved the tour of Tooties. And seeing George Jones grave was nice. I watched The Boar's Nest special you talked about. So many famous men on that one! And it just shows how thoughtful you are, to do your vlog on a woman that most people don't even know about. Sue and The Boar's Nest. Thank you for teaching all of us that it isn't just the famous people who lived interesting lives and contributed to the human race. God Bless Sue and those you loved her. Thank you Jordan.
First off i laughed when you said NO parking in Nashville. That statement couldn't be more true. Lol. Glad you seen Tootsies. That place always has someone famous in it. One huge misconception about Nashville is that most people think its only country music when in fact its all types of music. Thats why its called "Music City". You done Nashville a solid my friend. Wonderful vlog! Thanks Jordan!
in my opinion George Jones was the best ever hes my all time fave yes he was a rebel with his drinking and no show i,e, no show Jones but omg his songs and his voice were amazing i never cry when a celeb of any genre passes away but it broke my heart when he died i did cry and still get a lump in my throat when i think about him and hear his songs the day he died he really did stop loving her today but we never stopped loving him

These vlogs.. Amazing! Slamming down cuban coffee and watching these vlogs before i head out the door for the day, have become habit.. Tight work, brother!
What I have come away with from these stories is that the country music community really nurtures each other's talents. Jordan you have conveyed this nicely!
Jordan I loved this video and it sure brought back memories. I don't know if you'll answer this question or not but did you go on the rooftop of Tootsies? When I saw the lavender building I knew exactly where you were and were you able to see the original Grand Old Opry House behind Tootsies? I was lucky to go there a few years back and loved it. This is one of my favorite vlogs and you really made my day(as usual) Thank you so much and I must add that I enjoyed seeing where The Possum is buried. Your so adorable when you start to sing. Thank you again Jordan.... Nada
I had a chance to visit Nashville once and passed it up for somewhere else. I see now that was a mistake and it’s back on my list. I would have loved to visit Tootsie’s! I see a theme in these vlogs and its that people really used to take care of each other and it wasn’t all about the fame. I’ve really enjoyed these stories and I find them humbling. Thank you for sharing!
So cool! Haven’t been to Tootsie’s since I think late 89 or early 90......It hasn’t changed......Thank Heaven! Will have to stream The Boar’s Nest to the big TV tonight, thanks for the link to make it easy!
I have a DVD copy I bought. It took a month to get, awhile later when I clicked the link to go to their site it was shutdown. It probably was bootleged. It starts off on a concert stage with Waylon singing & talking about Sue.
What a nice surprise, Jordan. I actually thought the short one you posted today was going to be it for the day's offering. I had to go out and when I got back found that you posted yet this really great vlog. Thanks for going to these places. I managed to do that one year during my Memphis trips, and went to Tootsies in '78 or '79. It looks the same! lol Thank you for your hard work.
