    I know this video is a little older, but thank you so much! I have a Proform e620 that looks very similar to this. I'm not positive the issue as the moment it turns on, it seems like its trying to change the resistance and after a moment, slips. I have a video of this and would love your insight. Regardless, without your video, I wouldnt have gotten this far! Thank you so much!!

    Great video, but if the motor is bad or resistance change is not working, how can we add slack the way you showed when removing the motor?

    • @jason-m2p
      @jason-m2p 9 дней назад

      Mine is stuck in the zero resistance point, so there is not slack. The slack is all wrapped around the motor spindle. Can I unwind the motor manually to give more slack? It seems really hard to turn with pliers.

      @@jason-m2p No I don’t think you can unwind by hand.
      You may have to remove the motor from frame ,then take off the metal bracket that holds the cable to the motor
      You should get plenty of slack

    Great video and explanations! I'm still at the diagnosis stage, so not sure I'll need to buy a motor. Took off the cover. As soon as I power it on, without the pedals moving, the motor is making a knocking sound every couple seconds. The resistance chosen on the control panel doesn't change anything. Wondering if it's the motor the faulty here, or if the actuator is "stuck". I need to take more panels off to get to the "side access" that you have. Wondering if that knocking sound is characteristic of a particular problem. Thank you

      Thank you . This sounds like the motor is failing you can move the flywheel actuator by hand to see if is stuck . The best video I have on this is under ( understanding sole break system same type flywheel) Dave

    Hi, I just picked up a E7 sv on Marketplace. When that resistance motor goes out, is it true the incline is stuck in one position, and the display read out thinks the resistance motor is working, but there's no resistance?
    Also I removed the display, opened it up, and took the ribbon cables out, cleaned with Iso Alcohol, and put display back. Now, when I look at the display, the digits are light and dark grey, but if i look down from the top, everything is perfect, it's like the display on top, needs to come towards me, about 1 inch.
    Thanks for the video, and I believe my resistance motor for the E7, is on the other side, and I have white plastic looking cable, and not like yours...I think, I haven't looked real close.

      @@DarkSevariant Your unit probably has a link arm for the Resitance not a cable. But it has nothing to do with the incline if both are not working I would think it is the console. It could be the power board also

      @@FitnessTechnologyServices hi, thanks for the reply...!!! ...hmmm, so you believe the console is bad? I took the console off, disconnected the three wire plugs, and removed it. Everything looked good. Also, any idea why when I look straight at the console the numbers are all blurred, but if I look down from the top, it's a perfect screen? Not enough power maybe? I's weird, it's almost like one of those screen covers for computers, where if you look from side, it is dark, but if you get in front of screen, you can see everything. There were three ribbon cables I removed, and cleaned with alcohol and put back. When you say power board, is that the board in the console, about 4 inches by 4 inches, or is there another one, down by the main wheel? I saw one video where the guy removed the shroud covering the wheel, and there was a circuit board about 6 to 8 inches square. I haven't disassembled it, but in my .pdf manual, I don't see a power board. Another thing, when I first got it, off Marketplace, and moved it into my home, I plugged it in, and heard a motor sound, but it only lasted like 3 seconds, and since I haven't heard anything, even though I unplug it when I'm done with my 'exercise.' The guy I bought it from said the resistance doesn't work, it's why I got a deal. Also yes, the incline ramp, which is below me when I exercise goes from 0% to 20%, and the ramp is stuck at 15%. It has never moved. I'll have to take off the shroud and see what's in there. I just got it a few days ago, and actually I run on it. I ran about an hour, ran 2.25 miles, and got a good sweat. It's a form of exercise, but very low low impact, since no resistance, but still better than nothing. So you're saying if resistance AND ramp aren't working, it may be the power board? I'll check for another board by the main wheel when I get the shroud cover off, but for now, the only board I have seen is the small 4 inch square one, inside the console.
      Thanks for replying..!!

      @@DarkSevariant Well if it has a power incline it has to have a power board. The ones that don’t have a incline they use a 6vdc plug in type when both are having issues it got to be console or power board. IThink you will find a power board

    Wish you would identify the type of Nordictrack and model number. Mine is about 11 years old but it isn’t this model as you cannot manually adjust the resistance, only set workouts. I believe the resistance motor is shot.

    • @FitnessTechnologyServices
      @FitnessTechnologyServices  3 месяца назад

      @@flyingshamrockranch that issue is the same on 95 % of there models. Almost all Nordic Track ellipticals use the same Resitance motor. But I think you are right if your console seems normal then most likely it is the motor
