I picked up a version of the machine today at Best Buy. I believe you indicated the tested version had 16gb of ram. The one I purchased today from my local Best Buy had 32gb or ram. Initially it ran a bit hot until I took it off of my desktop mat. I would highly recommend to have this on a surface with a bit of clearance underneath. It runs quick and very quiet, to this point.
On the slim 7i gen 8, the laptop have issue that it unable to shut off power for the dGPU in cold boot. In Vantage and LLT will show that it is iGPU mode only but the dGPU still consume power like 8-10W. So every time I turn on the system even in sleep mode, I have to swap from iGPU -> Hybrid-> iGPU again for the laptop to fully cut power to the dGPU. This will lower 8-10W, so from 25-30W total on battery to 15-20W total on battery, extend the battery life. This is a bug that Lenovo never fix on the Intel version of Slim 7 gen 8. It gets very annoying ever time I use the laptop.
@@Tearis01 Good afternoon. I have not. I personally do not have a need to run the laptop on that configuration. To be honest, I purchased the machine for its NVIDIA card. From what I gather from your posts, you had issues when you would go back and forth between the onboard video and the NVIDIA card, correct?
@@joshuaharding6216 I have not. I had to return the machine. There was something wrong with the hinge and squeaked every time I would closed the lid. If you can afford the cost, I would contact Lenovo and see if you can negotiate a discount on the Legion Pro 7i, which is what I ended up getting. Runs a bunch cooler.
When you turn off the RGB keyboard and shutdown the laptop, does the RGB keyboard turn back on when you turn on the laptop or does the RGB keyboard turn on for a few seconds then turn off on its own?
Hello a question this computer is recommended used for the military ( national guard) because i want use by a lot of information and a little bit for games
So far i heared, the Lenovo Legion 7 Pro gen 9 (16inch AMD) has THIS chassis with a Ryzen 9 8955HX or G 55w (dual Z1 Extreme cpu) in it and the new RTX 5090 (max 100w+25w dynamic) Basically a real Ryzen 9 7950X + RTX 4080 desktop performance in 16inch thin 100% aluminium chassis.
Please make a review about it, im pretty sure you will be among the first to do review for this device other than 3 sponsored ads from bigger youtuber

Waiting the review regarding noise levels, gaming, battery
I purchased one today and the noise was almost non-existent during my normal use. I am certain if gaming, the fans would ramp up.

Where are you from? It’s still not available in Canada or the USA :(
I’d love to know the reading and writing speeds of SSD they put in there
Im interested in buying this for school but my only concern is the battery life on it, what has been your thoughts on it
Can you do the benchmarks and game test with some games?
Thanks for sharing....what's your real world battery life like?
Can you check the power consumption when on iGPU mode? Thanks
Do you want me to game on iGPU mode and let you know how much wattage it consumes?
