    It makes sense what you said about Bumble being a place where men can lay back, kick their feet up and say “lets see how many girls message me” as a self esteem boost while women need to put in all the effort.
    Because this is exactly what many men feel like with the other dating apps.

      I was actually shocked when she said that guys use bumble as a self esteem booster as I myself had been using it for a couple of months and actually found it to be true for the women on there (only ever had about two people message me beyond the “hi/how are you stage, most of them in fact would just match with me and then just let the timer run out and not ever say anything)

    • @dngrouscrgo
      @dngrouscrgo 3 года назад +27

      @prince Rak probably true for some, I did wonder what the thought process was behind it (matching with people and then never messaging them) but like the presenter says a lot of people probably just use it as a self esteem booster. I remember once I saw a girl from my work showing off all of her matches to a colleague as though it was some sort of human trophy cabinet, sad when you consider how many of those guys could have been using the app for it's intended purpose only to end up as fuel to someone's ego boosting...

    From a non- self esteem perspective, I like Bumble because in my experience, when/if she messages, that means she may actually be interested in engaging conversation. On other apps, I’ve spent time reading profiles & legitimately trying to start a conversation only for it to sit in her inbox unread. …regardless, it’s just another avenue to meet people.

    My experience with Bumble is that I get way more matches than other apps but almost no one messages me. I get a message from about 1 in 50 matches. I think a lot of women on there swipe based on photos and don't read profiles unless there's a match. So if there's something they don't like in your profile(like in my case I think it's that I have kids) they don't message you. On hinge and tinder I've gotten considerably less matches but at least usually get a conversation when I get a match. That said with hinge you actually have to be looking for whether or not someone has kids to know and I've had two hinge video dates with women who straight up said they hadn't seen that i had kids and weren't interested in someone with kids.

      @@sincerelycourtneylynne There's a big issue that you're not covering here that make online dating destructive for both women and men. Even though men must pay for most sites and women don't, there is a big imbalance. Men are lucky to get one message every few days, with an unlikely chance that the women will respond to more than one message. Men, on the other hand, are in near infinite supply to women. Having been on a few dates, and talking with the women about this, they do not feel a need to be invested in any one guy, since they can go home and have 20 new date confirmations within the hour, with a near 100% response rate from all guys they contact. This makes women desensitized towards men and makes it so they do not need to put in any effort. While, men on the other hand get frustrated by the lack of response. In no way does this situation help with forming a solid relationship, which is built on compromise.

    I guess the apps feel like “shopping” when you’re a girl. For me, it always felt like more of a job interview. 😂 I’m gonna be honest, I’ve never had a girlfriend. I’ve been in a handful of situationships, but I’ve always wanted something deeper. I’m mostly here to reflect and think if I should get back on the apps. I’ve had them deleted for over a year, and I’ve almost gotten into three relationships “the old-fashioned way,” just by putting myself out there. They were all situationships that hurt, but hey, at least I was close. I downloaded the apps because of the pandemic until about November of 2022, and I only met one girl in person. And I definitely texted less than 10 girls in the course of two years. The girl I did meet, I had to friendzone. We sadly didn’t click. This video was kinda helpful, but what does everyone think? I love hearing how much insight for men is provided by women. The reality is that any dating site ends up the same way. Men will get discouraged by never getting a response and end up liking ever single profile by the 3rd day of using the app. Men will always outnumber the women by 20:1 at least, and the women will all be chasing the same 2% of those men. Women are NEVER forced to take any date seriously since they can go online and get 10 more dates lined for the next night. These apps are nothing but destructive to both men an women. Women get ruined because they are no longer viable for a long term relationship and 98% of men are discourage because the only responses they can get are from bots, prostitutes and cat-fishers.

    My experience of Bumble app is negative, but I live in hope. Only had one date so far with a man who was clearly not interested in getting to know me yet he was listed as a good match in Bumble.
    Even now I can not figure out why. I am not sure if the matches are an AI mistake or people who are just making it up as they go along. I am a woman of colour and middle aged, age appropriate to me is 40 to about 55. Almost all of the age appropriate middle-aged men, are openly looking for a 30 year old. Way too many of the men are not attractive on the hygiene/teeth, live in other distant countries, short under 5 foot 8 inches, look like a weather-beaten and wrinkle ravaged father christmas, looking for something casual while lying about wanting a relationship, smoker, fudging photos and age, or saying something that flags red in the profile app message statement. You have to pay to see the people who find you attractive, so you have to swipe left consistently. The worst thing that happens is GHOSTING; so rude, lazy, and cowardly. Most of the good looking men are looking for something casual. The AI algorithm could maybe guess who I like in a million years; doesn't know how to filter timewasters, and just wants older women (over 40) to waste money. Anyway ladies, Bumble is way better than Tinder, so good luck.

    Any notion that Bumble is good for an ego boost for guys is absolutely wrong. Hinge is much better for that - much higher chance of receiving a like. 80% of men are lucky if they get a match a week on Bumble. (Area dependent of course). Bumble's algorithms are ELO based too, so the first 10 or so profiles are ones that people regularly swipe right on, ergo if you're not top 10-20% material the app actually relegates you down further. Not good for a self-esteem boost, it actually makes you even less eligible than you already are, according to the criteria most users apply when seeking a match.

    All 3 are awful. I'm still waiting for some company to come along and actually put out a quality dating app. None of these apps really work for most guys. Tinder was bad because it is filled to the brim with prostitutes, bots, and girls looking to rack up Instagram followers. Bumble is bad in particular because most girls you match with don't message and just let matches expire or message with a simple "hi" or "what's up", and Hinge is definitely the best, but because you get such limited swipes, it makes girls who are already very picky on those apps even more picky about who they will swipe right on. Overall, all are awful (at least from a guy's perspective) because you will get very few matches despite hours of swiping, will very likely not get a reply even if you come up with some witty or creative opener, and even if a conversation sparks, the chance you actually secure a date before the conversation ends are slim. I'm still waiting for a dating app wants to see people end up together instead of profiting off of lonely men buying the extra services in hopes of having a better shot that almost never actually makes a difference.

    • @sincerelycourtneylynne
      @sincerelycourtneylynne  2 года назад

      I don't think it is necessary to upgrade the account or pay for extra services. Weeding out people on the apps is no different that what we have to do outside of the online dating world. Dating is definitely work.

      @@sincerelycourtneylynne I agree that dating is definitely work, a lot of work. But I still just don’t think the apps work very well, they’re intentionally designed not to work too well. If they did, their user base would shrink. They thread the needle between giving people just enough hope that the apps can work so that they stay on, but not too much, so that they can convince people they need to pay for upgraded features for them to genuinely work. It’s a frustrating feedback loop. I stand by my earlier statement that I think all the apps are subpar at best, at least from the average guy’s perspective, and am still waiting for one that genuinely feels like a good faith attempt to help people find partners

      @@TheDynastyWarrior13 You have a point. "Dating" apps makes human relations worse, they are the devil's work. Ever since the "dating" apps entered the scene, long-term relations between men and women have only gotten WORSE with MORE break ups and more divorces.
      Since women are hypergamous by nature they will always try to date up, and with social media apps they are flooded with offers, and therefore have a harder time to settle in their younger years. Plus our sick society doesn't exactly help with creating *families* these days!
      Men on the other hand gradually lose the motivation/skills/self worth to TALK to women IRL since the apps kill their self esteem, and also it's much easier to go home to a dating app, and if not match, then at least LOOK at pictures and HOPE for a match...
      (Plus there's a war on masculinity, but that's another story)
      When women enter their 30's and 40's they will lose their looks (which is the #1 factor for men to pursue), and if they don't have a long-term partner in a nurtured relationship, they simply have a much harder time finding their hypergamous match, since the guys THEY find hot, always go for a younger model. Look at all these tik tok clips of miserable, middle-aged women, they can't find a satisfactory (for them) date! So women lose, too.
      To the women: Lock down a GOOD man in your 20's (forget these Chads and Tyrones) and learn to cultivate a good relationship. And men have to put in the effort, too of course.
      You can see through the s c a m that dating apps are. They will make a tiny percentage happy, and leave a ton of men AND women miserable, AND broke, since it's a money machine for the evil corporations, as well. It's ludicrous that people in 2023 still think these "dating" apps helps with human relationships! They do the opposite!
      Something is seriously wrong if most dating app-users think it's such hard work, even stressful to use these apps, AND divorces are going through the roof. DING DING! Can someone pick up the clue phone here? :D
      Focus your efforts IRL, the apps (and "social" media in general) is toxic, and also highly addictive for your mind, if you're prone to addiction.

      I know finding someone with the same religion is extremely important to some people, but I wouldn't let it deter you from meeting other people. Just because someone isn't religious doesn't mean they are a bad person or that it will cause issues in your relationship. People can share the same morals and values while having difference religious beliefs. But to each their own!

      Sure. Couldn't be that some people are not worth the time. As an app user, yes I get many matches and 99 % of them suck. And it's time consuming to find one or two guys that won't go straight to sex, send pics, be super creepy etc.

      @@Ariovistus50 @lennert cornette look, I have found a long term parter on bumble. But, it took a lot of time and a lot of bad apples. Lot of guys not ready for a relationship. most of the matches you get are not quality matches. Quality meaning people won't reply to you anyway, or won't hold a conversation for more than couple messages, people who immediately try to get sex, picture etc. And trust me, I filter out the dude with gym selfies and fish holding obvious fboys before even swipping. Yes,there are a lot of entitled women on dating apps. There are also a lot of men, who think women owe them dates and sex because they have been nice enough for three minutes. And that's just not what I want. Lastly, I think the dating landscape warries a lot depending where you are, maybe you're lucky to be in an area, where the dating pool is less horrible
