i love how the game went from "holy crap its getting super good! they are fixing a ton of stuff and making the game overall better. cant wait till tarkov comes out!"

typical BSG fashion. Theyve been on a roll of great patch followed by a patch somehow making the game worse than it was to begin with. This one is just a straight betrayal of the supporters. Sheef said it best $20 is about the most i would pay for that upgrade and even that's pushin it.
and its so sad because the other changes in the patch are actually really good, less inertia and less aim punch.
I started playing just two months ago after drooling over it for years but having to bad of a pc. Been playing 10+ hours a day since. Absolutely fucking obsessed with it, best game i've played.
Makes me so sad to think they'd just dump this piece of art as a cashgrab. Can only imagine how long time players with thousands of hours played feel about this.

@@RickyHimselfthey removed references to the content of EOD that specified the Gamma container was "unique to EOD" - that formed part of the contract entered into when the EOD edition was sold. The fact they've now removed that is a breach of UK consumer law and is legally actionable

@@PvMFrosties It's not the extra gear. It's not the bigger stash or trader rep or even the big pockets. If it was just that people might be upset for a minute but it would blow over quickly.
The things that really cause rage are the DLC that was supposed to be included with EOD and isn't, the magic special item that makes you invisible to scavs past 60m, and the "Avengers assemble" item that lets you call in backup players to your raid.

Had I known I’d be wasting 100$+ on DLC I wouldn’t get I would’ve stuck to the base game edition and just kept on playing SPT

Mid Lvndmark stream they changed what the website said on the EOD edition, it said Unique secure container (3x3) and now it says Secure container (3x3). This has to be illegal.

They didn't fix base game issues for 7 years. They never fixed the cheater issue. It's been almost a decade and there are still warp hacks, that's an easy server side fix. They do not have a (real) dev team, they are all designers. they lasted so long because they sat on a great idea, but ran the company in the worst way possible. They know its over and are trying to milk money before the game dies as competitors release their games from real game dev teams (gray zone and arena breakout infinite). It's a slap in the face because its so obvious: they are milking an extra $100 from EOD players, because of course no reasonable person is paying $250 for a video game, let alone a game running on 8 year old tech. They aren't reaching out to new players by fixing the game or making it better, they intend to milk existing players (arguably addicted) before the game collapses.
no game or anticheat on the planet has fixed the cheater issue. it is not possible. every human on earth could have an anticheat from 1000 years in the future implanted into their brains and people would still figure out how to cheat.

The past few weeks updates from BSG before this one were so good and doing so much to improve the game and BSG's reputation for many people and I think the game was in one of its best states in a long time and then this just dropped it to one of its worst.

Fun fact: PvE still depends on free available resources in the online cluster, so expect "matching" load times up to 10minutes (even alone with bots, no other players in coop), while SPT-AKI you get instantly (in a few seconds) in the raid.

It’s really sad honestly I paid $191 CAD for EoD, and it would cost me roughly $160 CAD ish for the upgrade, so essentially $300 - $350 to have a “complete” game experience.

To put it into context. Here in Brazil the upgrade, ONLY THE UPGRADE, is R$1341.93 (taxes included). The minimum wage is R$ 1412. Even the most recent Ubisoft scummy game that was announced (Star Wars Outlaws) is cheap compared to that.

Here in NZ, EOD was 140 dollary-doo's. I barely play the game but thought, hey down the line once Tarkov is shiny and perfect Ill have all the cool additions. What a fucking joke
On top of all this when I hopped on today the patch reset my Weekly that had 5 days left on it. It was to kill Sanitar 10 times and had a green key card as one of the rewards and I only needed 3 more kills. Gonna go play a game in my backlog and try to forget about Tarkov for a while lol.
Just let the game die we just need a real company to make tarkov and once it dies another will fill in and hopefully be better

The fact they added a back up feature in a $250 version of the game is absolutely wild.
I play mainly The Division 2 and there's been a built in call/respond to back up feature which also has it's own rank progression system for players who respond to back up requests to help other players.
BSG really just said fuck their game, let's start milking the community who has backed there game for the past 8 years.

You don't have to give then anything. 90% of the player base will never play co op offline because you can't do anything with that, it's not fun. Everyone will play the standard version you have. I was talking with a group of friends whom we all played the crap out of this game. I told them 4 years ago that BSG was heading down a slippery slope and wasn't going to turn out like we had hoped. They called me crazy. Then they stopped playing after today. I hate so much how right I was.
Another crazy thing is the timing of this, this wipe was seen as the one to bring everyone who got bored back with all of the new systems and changes, people were saying this was one of the best wipes in the recent history of tarkov, and they dicide to drop this out of nowhere and completely implode, even if some how they completely walk back everything which would not be easy considering people have already purchased this, its the fact that THESE are the kind of ideas that float around over there, they really cant be trusted after this

Also in the spt part there is a literal zero percent change of getting banned if you install it right
what it looks like is they feel like the people for pay for unheard will tell them in the test servers what they will pay for in the future. Test serves no longer there to improve and test but instead "what do you want to pay for and we'll add it"

A question I also have is since you get ets with this bundle, do you get the ets gift package for the main game. For those who don’t know, if your an ets member, you get a gift you can claim once every wipe that gives you a weapon case and some other nice stuff. Does this mean you’ll get both the weapon case from the ets package and the one from the unheard bundle. Cause then that’s insane

You can't release something like this in a 300€ Version without a way to ONLY buy that, that's so predatory, I would have, even with years of EOD, been fine with paying $20 for the PvE, and having it like $40-50 for non-EOD.
Just as an Update: The Knife is NOT from the Asset Store, just to clear that up, polygons and rivets are different on them too.

the only thing needed to avoid the negative backlash was give EOD users the PVE CO-OP with a DELAY, even 3 months would be reasonable for BSG to check how many people are interested, and how much further the server infrastructure needs to be expanded for that feature.

BSGs response to the backlash has resulted in them announcing a new matchmaking service that EOD owners wont permanently get which is an even worse situation than before they responded...

Something makes a lot of sense. If it's true that most players have EOD, it's not very lucrative to sustain a game to develop things that no one is going to pay for a version you put out that claims they're going to be free. in my opinion, the mark of the unheard radio device is pretty balanced. for every raid you kill a single scav in, you lose .05 fence rep and get -50% xp from scav kills. is that really worth it to not get shot by sniper scavs when we know where they all spawn anyway?
I specifically bought EOD for all future dlc, not even for the extra space and BS. Literally just for all future dlc
I Bougth EOD mid 2023 because they said they're deleting it, literally hyping it as "Buy it now! be one of the rarest in the future!". Guess where that got me...
just to note, as of 5 hours ago from this comment they said that having EoD will give access to PvE for free and that in the future they will add modding support for PvE

I've wanted to play SPT for months, but haven't because of the ban BSG holds over our heads. Now they want me to pay 100 dollars extra on top of the 150 I already spent? And all the people I brought to this game? I've bought EOD for my friends, and now it's just like.... wow. I'm actually pretty upset about this. Offline version of the fucking game for another 100 dollars. 250 if you don't have EOD!! NICE!!!! GOOD WORK!!!!
There is NO way to backtrack at this point. That ship has sailed. Even if they completely undid all they have done/said in the last 3 days the damage is already done.
It's honestly not that hard to monetize a game. Regardless of weather you have a free to play setup or people purchased the game a long time ago and now you as a studio need to proved entertainment to an audience that isn't expecting to pay more for more experiences. Granted this sounds like the consumer is being unreasonable, but the reality is people bought EOD for 2 reasons, 1, Gamma container. 2, access to all future additions to the game. So it was BSG's choice to offer this and so they must lay in the bed they've made. And it does make sense for them to want to find an additional way to make more money for their game so that they can remain on a development track that will see them create the game they set out to when they started. But the way of doing that is not through making your FIRST and most LOYAL players feel like they've been betrayed, it's through the means of selling digital items (things that can be created once and sold infinitely) like cosmetics, custom posters in your hideout, different backgrounds, stash space lines, etcetera. They could even do custom watches for your wrist or custom gloves for your hands. There is a huge list of possible options that do not include giving any outright advantage to any player purely based on how monetarily invested they are in real life to this game.
To be specific about the 'advantages', starting gear is not too much of an issue. maybe the starting gear is decent but ultimately could last you as little as your first 3 raids and doesn't give you any way of replacing the good ammunition that you have started with (like 7.62x51 M80 and 7.62x54 PS) so realistically giving people a couple more guns/armors/medicine/roubles to start with, not having the ability to buy, isn't really the end of the world. It starts to get concerning where BSG puts in a new game mode or whatever they want to call it and don't give it to the people that paid for a package that includes "all future dlc". And you can tell BSG wasn't so sure how this would be perceived by their fans and that it was maybe not that great of an idea based on their response on twitter. *presses glasses to forehead with index finger* "Technically, since you're not downloading anything and we are only using already existing assets, it's not DLC" -Local not very intelligent BSG guy. That was not an exact quote btw but I did have fun imagining that's exactly how it went down. Bro if BSG really thinks that jipping its fans and telling them it's ok based on a technicality, then technically, it was my computer that made the purchase of this game so I need a refund. And although I 'accidentally' played nearly 3,000 hours of it but BSG also 'accidentally' planned produced and sold digital assets in their game whos player base has already paid more than DOUBLE what other games of its caliber are on the market; and now BSG has DOUBLED THE PRICE AGAIN, disrespected their fans and says it's ok because 'technically', fill in the blank. The expanded pockets are definitely a bit much and the situation can be compared to people who had alpha or beta containers playing against players with gamma, the only problem is that you have to pay and extreme amount of money for this, which doesn't really make sense from a realism perspective, gameplay perspective, and doesn't even line up with what a player would consider 'worth' and ADDITIONAL $250. But the chef's kiss is that fucking radio distress signal. What the fuck are they smoking over their that they just stole from the mines of Ukraine that could possibly give so many extra chromosomes to someone to come up with this idea. Are we playing Destiny now? Are they now not only trying to squeeze every penny out of us, but are also so enthralled by doing it that they are trying to make obvious the similarities to the greatest scam of all gaming, Bungie's Destiny?
The big things here to worry about, 1 PVE not included for EOD users, 2 Expanded PMC pockets, 3 starting cases, 4 in raid cost reduction with interactables (BTR/ Vehxtract), and 5 starting skills/rep. But why are they problems?
1)PVE- Not including pve isn't driving me insane like it's the new streets and i cant play it cuz I don't have the bread, I have absolutely no interest in playing that dogshit. But i do feel uncomfortable with BSG telling me if I give them a bunch of money they'll give me this game and everything in this games future will be available to me for helping play/test/fund this project in it's infancy, and then them doing this and saying they're ok to do it because of a technicality that they made up. Again not that the game is ruined bc I cant play PVE, but my trust is ruined in BSG, and now as a player I feel less valued and more used.
2)Expanded PMC pockets have problems outlined by what sheef said, allowing you to risk less and gain more. Its exactly the dilemma of Alpha/Beta case vs Gamma case being pay to win. It is. We've all had plenty of time with the game and with the different secure containers to understand that the Gamma container is OBJECTIVELY better and OBJECTIVELLY makes the game easier in multiple ways for the player and this is ONLY because of real world monetary investment. And this was presented in this manner at one point where people were torn on weather or not this was in fact pay to win and now we are seeing history repeat itself. Gotta stop supporting the bullshit here before it continues to fester and we get more
3)Starting with the cases is NOT the end of the world. However, i would argue that giving such items at the start is taking away from the game. The game is about survival and procuring gear to help you on your journey. AN ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE PORTION OF THIS GAME, IS STARTED AT THE BOTTOM NOW THE THICC CASE HERE. My point is that part of playing the game is the progress you make; and that progress is rarely felt as much by the player when they get their first new case to store things in. Some will say they are trying to cater to newer players and that's why this change was made, but this is not helping new players. This is actually hurting them in my opinion. Because they won't know the effort it took everyone else to get their first scav case or weapons case or whatnot. They're literally taking the fun out of the game. Like why play a game, to have fun on whatever journey it is you are making. You start at the beginning and go to the end. Now I'm not saying the game is over now that you have one case but it definitely feels like starting the main story campaign on mission number 4 out of 10, and you're not preserving the wonder and novelty of the game for newer players, you're actively killing it to make things 'easier'. Got news for ya BSG, we DONT like the game for being easy, we like it because its hard.
4)In raid cost reduction is pretty stupid and unnecessary. Like not really that much of a difference in gameplay except you might be able to have the btr follow you all over the map killing everyone because you're constantly paying for cover fire, which would be highly annoying. But it really just feels more like ok we are gonna charge more that $200USD for this new thing, we gotta add more stuff. The result is a bunch of random perks/bonuses that don't aren't cohesive, no one cares about, and isn't adding anything to make the game better. You're just making the game easier by trying to cater to newer players when that's exactly the reason they wont stick around. You're trying to attract the casual gamer into the world's least casual game. Let the morons keep playing cod and paying for it every year like they're just getting new dlc (btw that is ultimately what call of duty is. every year they just add new guns to the same shit game). The point here is mainly in line with what I said above. You're ruining the longevity of you're own game to please people who's attention spans can't allow them to stick around longer than a few tiktok's.
5)Starting at anything other than zero makes no sense. I mean if everyone started out with all the same stats and rep, that'd be one thing. Because since everyone start at the same place, that would be the new zero. And any version of the game that allows you to skip the game to the end is like skipping the movie to watch the credits. Who tf does that. you watch the move to enjoy the story/plot. To be entertained. You play a game to be immersed/challenged; unless you're a cheater, in which case you don't even know why you do the things you do. Literally purchasing a VIDEOGAME meant to be PLAYED, but instead you'd rather download a game than then also download a player and watch the game play itself. Genuinely, what the actual fuck is wrong with you.

And to think I thought $50 was a lot for a game I felt I wasn't going to enjoy but bought it anyway.
With the thing where they let newer player to the testing servers over an exerienced one, does make sense if you have both parties. To have experienced players you need a way of hooking on newbies and then you can think about how to keep the experienced ones (also there are no microtransactions so they need player rotations to keep the servers afloat)

Now I don't feel so bad buying the base edition all those years ago (3k hours). I actually enjoyed the grind to Epsilon container at the start of every wipe. But yes $250 USD is absolutely nuts, I couldn't justify Edge of Darkness being $150 USD either but this is next level insane.
Man, $250 for this is A DUCKING LOT in some regions. I'm from Brazil, that's almost the minimum salary (and what majority of people live on). I allegedly could pay rent, groceries and utillitys with this kind of money (it can vary alot from place to state to state).

as a EOD owner who doesnt have alot of time to play these days the PVE mode is my dream come true ( i know about SPT dont care ) its a real shame what they did

They pretend they do not understand what "downloadable content" is. Any game feature is a part of game content.
Sure, they have to run single-player on their own servers to prevent 95% of piracy. To pay for this they should have sold SP separately for $20 - 30, having apologised and explained to EOD owners that this is the only feasible way to have SP developed and running. The rest of the content is content, DLC is DLC. Thus, must be included into EOD.
For many customers, the main selling point for an expensive $150 EOD version back in 2016 - 2020 was that it includes all future content (downloadable one). It was a lot of money in 2016 to take from life and family and invest in the future.
This is like construction workers charging you extreme amount for a bathroom renovation and you agree to make a deal because they include 10-year warranty. In 5 years they ask for extra unheard money because the warranty "does not cover electric wiring because this is a bathroom and not an electric power-station and they did not mean it was included".

Im interested how the split between "Single player mod (SPTarkov) vs $250 Single player access (UnEd)" is gonna go down for people, personally? I could barely afford standard edition and have been playing spt for a long time 80/20 compared to live edition but mostly because I like playing it casual/ fuck around and find out kind of setups. I do like in order to play the mod you have to have a legit copy
