Don’t do any of this nonsense. Keep your stick upfield as he goes above gle de your body to protect against a roll back

No need to call coaching pointers from an All Pro and Team USA defensemen, nonsense 😂

Multi AA and former pro here. Glad it works for him but I’m not teaching defensemen to keep stick behind an attackman as they drive to the island. That attackman can easily feed and most likely get their hands free for a shot.

He's not the only guy this works for. But that is fine to have a differing teaching opinion, and teach players to do something differently. We recognize there are more than one way to do things. But coming on here and saying don't do any of this nonsense... c'mon now. @@jmac-oi2uk

@@jmac-oi2uk there's not just one way to play defense - pro's and con's to each, but that wasn't a focus of this particular video. i play out of a v hold regularly and teach it to guys as well. v hold can be extremely effective, it's just not the only way to do it. This video isn't about that. The stuff in this video has worked for me, my teammates and many of the players i've coached. Doesn't mean it's the only way, but I wouldn't say it's nonsense.
