Question of the Day: what else would you like to know about the Vox Pathfinder 10 or the Orange Crush 12?
So in you're opinion which one would you rather use. The Vox or the Orange I'm going to start playing electric guitar soon so
I want to know which one is better.
If you talked less and didn’t beg for subs and likes people would watch your videos more
thanks for the video!
3:04 Vox - clean
3:38 Orange - clean
4:38 Vox - dist
5:02 Orange - dist
I was stuck deciding between these two exact amps, this video helped me a lot! Thank you!
this channel deserves way more credit
Thank you! If you would share my videos, that would really help this channel grow. Again, thank you for watching and commenting!
agree
Really good demo. I learned a lot.
These are the two amps I was interested in, so it was very useful.
Thanks man.
My pleasure! Thank you for watching and commenting!
Just bought the Vox and really appreciate the line out demo as that is how I will be using it most. I tend .ore to clean tones and add pedals as needed to I definitely think I made the right choice. Thanks for the insight.
I just got my Pathfinder10 today and love it...great practice amp
Fantastic! Thank you for watching and commenting!
I watched your separate videos on these amps and was already leaning towards the vox but I definitely think I'm gonna go for it after watching this 😅
dropping a sub 🤝
Awesome video especially where I am contemplating of purchasing one of those exact amps you tested,,,, Thank you great video.....
Great channel! So many other channels constantly showing off high end gear that’s unobtainable for kids. If I was a kid starting out, I would come here for all my tone suggestions! Any kid can bum enough money to buy any of these amps, even if they have to collect aluminum cans.
Great video. Looking forward to more.
The pathfinder is bloody loud for 10 watts. I love it, especially with the LED mod done to it.
Agreed! Thank you for watching and commenting!
Do think the capacitor mod is worth It?
I was just checking checking these two amps out for a home recording amp. The review came out at the right time lol. By what I’ve heard I like all 3 tones on the VOX more than the orange. Idk to me the orange had a more “muggy” sound if that makes sense.
I was really surprised at how big the Line Out sound was on the Vox compared to the Orange. That brings another dimension to home recording for sure! Thank you for watching and commenting!
These videos are really helpful and awesome! I just bought myself an orange crush 20 after watching your Fender champ vs Orange crush pros and cons video!
I'm loving my orange crush!!
Fantastic! I am glad you are enjoying your Orange Crush 20! Thank you for watching and commenting!
I shouldn't be surprised how good the Vox sounds. Marshall and Fender get the glory, but Vox has set the absolute highest standards for tone for decades. Love how they sound, just haven't been able to afford one.
They did a great job with the Pathfinder 10. I really have been enjoying the clean channel. Thank you for watching and commenting!
I watched your other video & I was sold on the Vox & after this one, I'm even more certain it's the amp for me, since it seems like the perfect match to the 335 style guitar I have & delivers the tone I'm after.
Sorry to say I won't be buying through your Amazon link though. I'm an old fashioned kind of guy & I prefer to buy stuff like this through my local music store. It's nothing personal, I just think it's important to support local businesses. I hope you understand...
Great video! I look forward to delving deeper into your archive.
Leaning towards the Vox and wondering how well these two amps take pedals. Thanks and keep up the great videos.👍
The OD channel is pretty terrible but the clean channel with pedals is awesome. The amp is arguably too clean, but with with an "amp-like" overdrive pedal it sounds really good-- sounds great with verb/delay in between dirt pedals and the amp. I run stereo out of my HX stomp into 2 of these-- I use amp sims but not cab sims, the little 6.5" speakers sound great! Best ACTUAL low volume setup ever!
Love my pathfinder 10.i diode clipped it to get rid of the overdrive but gives it more headroom. I also put in an 8 inch speaker of the same Ohm. Sounds big for a little amp. Atb.
very helpful. Thanks man! I subbed
My pleasure! Thank you for subbing!
Just got into playing guitar and ordered this amp last week, should be here by tomorrow, great review btw keep it up!
Thank you! Which amp did you get: the Crush 12 or Pathfinder 10? Thank you for watching and commenting!
@@5MinuteMusic the Pathfinder 10, I wanted to buy the Marshall MG10 but I couldn't get it
@@sound4life805 Awesome! Please comment and let us know how you enjoy it!
@@5MinuteMusic sure as soon as i pick it up :)
The Vox all the way. I was surprised. Both were able to get decent tone from a small speaker but the Vox really won me over.
Thanks for helping me decide between these two. I want to use it for recording, so I just went with the Vox. Can’t wait for it to arrive! I’ve been lazy with my guitar playing since moving overseas so this is hopefully going to get me inspired again. ❤️
Have you been happy with your Vox? Thank you for watching and commenting!
Hello sir, i was checking your channel (great content btw) and i loved the fender Champion 40, i want your opinion, is the Champion 40 good for grunge style? Thank you
The Vox is much warmer and has that vintage sound to me. I have recently ordered the Vox per my playing style which is rockabilly, jazz and so forth.
How have you been enjoying your Vox? Thank you for watching and commenting!
I prefer the Vox, I feel that is has more presence. The Orange reminds me of my Frontman 15G, that I don't really like it, "boxy" and compressed.
I own both and love both a reverb pedal in front and you can play either one all day and not piss off the neighbors!!
Excellent content Sir. Specially the Fender champion 40 video. Where did you buy the Fender champion 40 Sir?
I got mine on Amazon. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Is there a way that you can show how to get a indie tone on the fender champion 20?
I see neither of them have a separate "line in" for plugging in a phone or laptop to play over backing tracks while listening with headphones. Do you know if a headphone splitter adapter would work for this purpose?
Do you know what are the settings for clean on the fender champion 20 guitar amp?

very nice video and vibe bro
Vox wins and I've learnt what the channels are actually for too. Great informative and play testing - thanks buddy I'll be buying a path finder next week through your link 😊
Great video! I've got a question, so if I wanted to get an 'Oasis' type sound, which amp should I use? The Vox Pathfinder 10 can be found for 86 USD where I live and the Orange Crush 12 can be found for less suprisingly, for about 82 USD which is why I wondered about this. Cheers! I liked the video.
vox
NO GOD, No :D mem become real !
Good but will it chug?
I love the orange overdriven sound but prefer the vox clean sound.
The vox also works well for a bass guitar , in fact it's better than the box 10 watt bass pathfinder amp!
Doesn't it bear the risk of damaging the speaker?
@@bullfrogboss8008if you blast it at full volume, but I mean it's bass lol you probably aren't cranking it unless you love mud
Do you prefer the vox pathfinder?
Wanna buy one of these for my kid. So the question is which is easier to use? Both seem nice to me, but what do I know, I don't play any instrument. So, for a teenager....which suits better?
the end result is the tone your after is what you buy all have pros and cons your opinions are yours as is someone elese theirs and that does not ever mean any 2 people would have the same opnion and then you have the pickup outputs also change the tone as well as string guage and material the strings are made of as well .. i have had several orange amps i settled on the 35rt as my main amp and i have the pathfinder 10 as just a pratice amp with only ussing its clean and dirty the orange i use a pedal board with it . i have also owned tons of amps and the one i miss the most is probley the boss katana 100 watt 1/12 and havingit paird with the gt-1000 was the best setup but life happend so perhaps again eventually, big thing to is also showing single coil pup guitars as well like a tele and a strat then throw in the humbuckers on each amp then its more of a ok this is what you get from each amp with the 3 most comman setups
The Orange line-out recording gave me tinnitus - it was like a swarm of angry bees attacking my ears! However, its high gain through the speaker was nice and meaty. Still, I would choose the Vox for its superior line-out recording quality and price
The Vox price is hard to beat, and I was really surprised by the line-out signal! Thank you for watching and commenting!
Hey! i have a dude. I was beetwen a laney lx12, an orange crush 12 or a cort mx15r. I want an amp that is versatile and allows me to play with friends in a garage, and on my budget I can afford between those two. have you ever tried the cort? and if so, is it a good amp? very good video btw
The only one of those amps I have used is the Crush 12. If you need versatility, have you looked at the Fender Champion 20? What style(s) of music do you play?
@@5MinuteMusic i like to play rock, pop, punk, alternative, etc. and yes, i have heard about the fender champion, but it's out of my budget because in my country there are things that are very expensive unlike other places, so i was beetwen those 3 :)
How does the vox handle pedals?
I already answered someone else in the comments, but basically YES. The clean channel with pedals is awesome. The amp (clean channel) by itself is very clean, but sounds great OD > reverb > amp (I personally think the OD channel is awful). This is the best low volume setup I have found. I run 2 in stereo!
do a review of joyo dc 15 or dc 30
I might do those in the future, but right now I am looking at the Boss Katana Mini, and a couple of others too. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Nice review. I'll subscribe to your channel! One suggestion please: Could you play a little more? No insult intended, but play around the neck a little. And maybe avoid the same D-F# -G thing you do. You've been playing for 25 years so let's hear some of that experience on your demo! That little single note run you put at the end of the chord changes is great, so take it further! Amps respond very differently to pick attack and neck position and it would be nice to hear some of that. Thanks for listening!
I like vintage Tone on orange
Vox of course!
Don't play sound on one, talk, then play the other. It makes it much harder to remember the first sound. Instead, talk first. Then play one and be quiet and switch to the other. MUCH easier to tell the difference in sound. Free advice, but worth a lot.
Thank you! That is a great point!
Orange for dirt/distortion. Vox slight advantage on cleans.
Check out the Marshall MG for OD/distortion.
Hi I am using vox pathfinder 10 but when I switch to overdrive it makes so unwanted sound which is horrible but fine in cleans
The overdrive channel really hisses when you turn the gain up, but that is pretty normal. Thank you for watching and commenting!
The winner IS ?
Good demo...
Thank you! And thank you for watching and commenting!
@@5MinuteMusic welcome..i enjoy your videos
Most comments praise vox but i think thats because its like an underdog brand. And its not even that cheaper. Orange is basically more quality. I will probably buy this orange or fender frontman 10.
Também concordo contigo. Achei o Orange bem melhor do que o vox...
Found out that vox is a big brand too and fender frontman sucks. So my comment is off.
I go with the orange crush
the Orange has more punch but the Vox it's more versatile and has more "colours"
May as well get both for such low cost...Vox sounded more gainy...orange more bluesy or country.
Can you do Metallica kill um all Tone with the offender Champion 20 please
Vox for me I like it hot lol
Here in the uk we get shafted
deric might as well be my tone sensei
Thank you for watching and commenting!!
Orange
No vox amp has a mid range on it they all only have bass and treble
I wish they would ad a Mids knob! Thank you for watching and commenting!
3:05 3:39
The Vox Pathfinder crushed the Orange Crush 12
Vox Pathfinder all the way.
I’m becoming more of a vox guy. Vox for clean and crunch. Orange for high gain. If I can only have one, VOX. You can add pedals if you need to
VOX on top
ok sorry ac30 I don't need to crank you up no mores. Guess im getting the pathfinder.
In my country Orange crush is 15$ cheaper than Vox Pathfinder 10. It's hard to make a decision lol.
Lol here its the opposite vox is 20$ cheaper
Came prepared to like the Vox better, but man the Orange won in EVERY category imo. The Vox sounded muddy and muffled while the Orange was crisp and clear.
Vox for the win.
Marshall MG craps all over the Orange.
ตัวไหนน่าจัดกว่ากันครับราคาเท่าๆกันเลย
Vox seems to be a bit more "juicy" sounding. That orange color... man, I don't know... seems tacky to me. Esthetics matter 😊!
Pathfinder has 15 watts
The 15r
@@songoku433 and the 15
Need to learn how to play another tune bro.
i have the vox PF10, and i can tell you is a piece of shit, it sounds awful even with modifications.
Both over rated
