Hi Orby. Thank you, but this model was a piece of JUNK!!! It worked awesome the first few months. Suction was great and a great cleaner but it committed suicide. The inside part that moves back and forth with the diaphram wore itself out and blew itself apart. There was no fixing it and the Amazon company I purchased it from was gone in 6 months.

Hola Helena, Glad that was helpful. You must have a Zodiac , Creepy Krauly or some generic brand. That said, this Songjoy cleaned better than the other 2 for the first 5 months, then it self destructed. I wrote back to the company without an answer. The suction part of the cleaner moves up and down inside the main cavitygiving it greater suction power that the others. This constant back and forth slamming caused the inside retainer to break out in a perfect circle. Glad I could help you figure out your problem. Dale, I am glad I could help. Just FYI, it is still running in my pool since my post. I think it does an equal if not better job than the Zodiac Barracuda. The only worry I have is how durable it is. My Barracudas body lasted 10 plus years. I just had to replace the diaphragm every 2 years and the sweeper fan and the saddle on the front that the sweeper fan attaches to. These usually wear out on gunnite or fiberglass in ground pools due to the constant friction on the pools surface. They provide an extra sweeper fan and diaphragm which is a great value. Whether the saddle is available as a replacement part could be an issue. When I have time I will have to look into that.

From the pumping action inside the diaphragm, it created so much internal pressure that the front retaining ring blew out rendering the cleaner unusable. I contacted the company but did not get any response. Do Not Buy.
Yes. Since it is underwater as it moves it just sucks up what it approaches. It does not agitate silt or sediment. This product is not good after 6 months it broke. Spend the $$ and buy the Zodiak. It will last a long time. If you find this helpful please subscribe. It helps us.

I assemblied it as per the instructions but when I connected it to the pool pump (above ground pool) the suction was great going through but the actual cleaner was NOT strong at all infact it was not going through it to make it work. After several attempts I took the cleaner off and used a manual cleaner using the connection of pipes and it worked well. Could the cleaner be faulty?
I do not advise your purchase of this. As stated, it worked at first very well and then self destructed. It was purchased so long ago I do not remember the cost. Sorry.

Hello Alejandra, no apologies necessary. There are two ways of connecting a self cleaning pool cleaner to your system. One way it is to push the pipe through your skimmer inlet, remove the skimmer basket, and plug the vacuum hose directly into the bottom of the skimmer. The second way to hook up your self cleaning pool cleaner is if you have a dedicated suction line inside the pool. Flip open The Little Door, plug the suction line in, and that should do it for you. Look where my left hand is about 4:27. Right below it in the shaft the is a knurled blue nut. Unscrew it and that whole section will slide out. Your diaphragm is on the end of that blue shaft. I hope this helps. Please like and subscribe.
I just bought the Zodiac G3. This product looks like a copy of that. But after reading the reviews of it on Amazon it is not a very good copy. It is not available on Amazon anymore either which is interesting.
You are correct! G3 IS AN AWESOME pool cleaner. Expect 5 to 7 years out of it. You will have to replace the diaphragm at least every year but it is a good solid cleaner. I like it better than the Hayward.

Your pool is clean !! Will it be able to clean fine sediments without disturbing the rest of the water.

Was the plastic diaphragm inserted in the end of the cleaner or was the pipe open all the way?

Not very well. It needs curved surfaces in order to climb the sides. Above ground, pools have 90-degree angles between the floor and sides.
