Right at 5:38 shows EXACTLY why Harvey is Harvey. He does not give people what they want, yet they keep wanting it from him and Harvey knew it and used that. He may not have used it intentionally, but he still used it as a form of self control and control over others, not in a malicious way. Mike wanted him to lay him out, but Harvey just walked away. Donna died for 12 years for him to tell her he loved her. Louis wanted Harvey's validation for years. Scottie wanted Harvey to tell her that he loved her.
It's cause he finds emotion as manipulation it's how his mum used him to hide her affair, it's what his brother uses every time he's in trouble. Harvey wants proper facts but people can't handle that and want to get all emotional
Corporate settings are cutthroat and competitive. You need to have a lot of typically masculine traits to exceed. That's why those fields are mostly male dominated. But there are exceptions of course.

It's partly because they both read people well and appeal to them rather than make legal moves.
