Within Temptation is a Dutch symphonic metal band founded in April 1996 by vocalist Sharon den Adel and guitarist Robert Westerholt. They have been classified by critics as gothic metal and symphonic metal, although each album contains other influences outside these genres.

привет, очаровашка! если интересно, послушай их песню "парадайз" вместе с тарьей. а вообще, в 90-х, визин темтейшн и найтвиш были одними из самых любимых симфометал групп! помнится, у найтвиша любимой песней была тарьина слипинг сан, свон хед, а у визин - мэморис и ангелс. люблю, когда вокал красиво звучит.
Hearing this one live gave me the biggest chills ever. She does that choir part at the end with 'once you will know my dear' all by herself and it puts you in such a trance ❤
Was introduced to them last year live, she sounds fantastic. Would love to see them again.

I have always loved Sharon's hand dancing in their music videos, something she picked up from Balinese dancers while living in Indonesia as a teenager. Her Dad was a Dutch diplomat stationed there.

So happy you reacted to this one!! I love this Within Temptation song, it is one of my favorites!! The video is amazing and was one of the first introductions to the symphonic metal genre for me.
Within Temptation, and this song, was my introduction to Symphonic Metal, and cemented my love for the genre. I've seen them play live twice as they toured the US, and they are even more dynamic live. This song was my assigned ringtone for my Mother when she was alive, and it always brings back wonderful memories of her. Sharon has such a crystal pure voice, and although she does not have the dynamics of Floor Jansen, I place her alongside as a brilliant front woman. She does what I call "hand dancing" that really enhances the song and I've never seen anybody as graceful. These Dutch women really have the pipes ... must be the water! Withion Temptation has an interest dynamic, as Robert became the "house husband" for the children he and Sharon have, so he doesn't tour any longer. Ruud is a brilliant guitarist, so that is covered, but Robert continues to compose and is the driving force behind the band. This band should be twice a big as they are ... thanks. Maggie, for showing them off to the world. You really should watch the music video of "Frozen" ... it's like a mini movie, and insanely great!
My guess about the pipes: it’s not the water. Most of the country is below sea level, that’s the reason I believe.

Sharon (pron sha rōn) and band have been on regular rotation in my playlists for years. Wide variety and deep catalog keeps it fresh. Their evolution has been awesome! Recommend FASTER by this band.

Feels like a reupload that I’ve seen before. Still a great song. Their recent music has gotten rather more industrial, but I’ve been listening to their latest album a LOT lately.
Thank you for your reaction. Please next time go for a live version. Same as with bands like Nightwish and Epica. They deserve to be appreciated live. Because that is when they are at their best. Especially Sharon sings even better live than on their albums. She has so much energy and soul on stage. They always put on a huge show and sometimes even have a full size live orchestra with them on stage. What is alo special is that Sharon taught herself to sing and she designs and makes her own stage dresses. Very artistic temperament :)

Freaking love Sharon and this band, they recently released a new album called Bleed Out, and the song is another powerful track just like this one but a little far away of the symphonic or gothic metal, it's all good, still love them.
She was totally my queen before i met SuMetal from BabyMetal (shhh don't tell anyone, i don't want she get jealous lol).

This is ancient for Sym Metal standards, latest WT, is so mature now a days, their DVD "Black Symphony" with Metropole Orkest is a must watch.
