At around 1:02 there is a cave in the Sea in the Background where you can get a strong bow for free in a chest. Get there easily with Osvald and Temenos passives.
Bro, thank you for the tiny tip. I immediately went to pick it up. Throne's father is giving me issues. Not only did I leave with the bow, I left with stronger beasts for Ochette. Thank you again!
For extra cheese, you can recruit a chap that allows you sell for 25% more at Clackridge Harbour and someone that gives you a 8% chance at 50% off buying at totohaha - some save scummig and your leaves will go much further.
You can evasive maneuver to get the forbidden axe that is directly west of Agnea's starting torn Cropdale. it's in the "House Wellows Manor" I just walked there on a fresh oshvald save. also and I found this sick spear that gives 1 additional hit on attack (2 base up to 5 with boost) only +224 atk though "Sea God's Spear" I think it is in the chest that you see at the end in the middle of pillars of the "Seat of the Water Sprite" mid lvl area inbetween Flamechurch and Montwise(to the east of Flamechurch) just can't remember This one probably isn't cheeseable but mid lvl area. Personally I'm way above the level so it doesn't really matter, just I'm not sure how the level range for the these things is calculated, most likely not to hose the player but rather in a fair way I hope.

it is also possible to get into stormhail early which means stormhail loot + beneath the bridge(infernal castle) loot. it seems slightly less consistent because of a few long walks. I ended up complete looting the place with highest lvl in party being 16. First of all to get there u need to pass by a guard so either sleep + poison duel cheese or herb of serenity(these let u unlock so much stuff early and are fairly easy to find if u are looking for them). First cave u have to shortcut by taking the ladder then it should be possible to barely make it to the save point, snow area you are trying to make it to the dungeon for autosave/save inside(this one is hard might take a few tries or an escape). From there town is within easy reach, tho few chests up ladders from the dungeon, last one is lighting armor and easy to reach, pretty sure ladders dont count. oh and yeah.. sword in infernal is kinda hard to reach, couldnt make it to save point without an escape, rest of stuff is easy to reach if u use broken bridge autosave

Man every time I check these “early game” videos I realize just how far behind I am lol. I got a late start, I play any open rpgs slowly anyway, and I don’t get time to play anywhere near as much as I’d like to. As much work as I have ahead of me, all your videos have been a huge help. I missed the first game but fully intend on playing after this one, so I’m still catching up on how best to use combat, skills and building. Do you have a combat guide or one you’d suggest? I haven’t been able to find one. And I mean… like for beginners. I’m trying me best here man, but those of us who are new gotta start somewhere right? I’ve been trying to go in blind but I kept thinking i was completely missing things and doing them wrong… I wasn’t in terms of a playthrough but I wanted to start getting familiar with mon-maxing so i can at least get my team as efficient as possible. I watched all of your individual characters builds (multiple times) but it’s a little head of where I am and a little more than my understanding of the game mechanics so far. Do you have any advice for beginner beginners to help make the end of my playthrough have the least amount of regrets possible? Thanks plat and anyone else who can help!
not sure if this is patched or whatever, but My Ochette with the bow does sees the increase when hovering over the bow. But when equipped she comes back down to 200. Unsure if there is a cap or something. FYI 60k can be steep.

Quick question on the progerssion / endgame of Octopath: arn't you spoiling the playthrough by getting these items / farming tons of gold and jp early? Or is this only the means to an end cause endgame is so diffecult? I'm scared of grinding at lvl 20 because I fear I won't have anything to look forward to?
If difficulty is super important to you than I suggest skipping these items. Its already an easy game for the most part but breaking the game is half the fun for a single player rpg Plus I dont like putting artificial barriers on myself preventing me from getting stronger.
