    Brought to mind something I would see when I was driving.
    I used to see flatbeds with a toy grader or something strapped on the deck.

    The mountains so close in the background remind me of a family members home in Eldorado CC, it's directly across the street from the mountains. Just beautiful.

      I was in Eldorado last week. Back home in Oklahoma now. I recognize that empty lot and picnic table, have walked daily walks around it. It's going to be very hot in your area real soon. I think last year was a high of 122 -124 degrees. I don't know how the year around residents make it through such hot summers. Stay hydrated, and of course you're used to it. Be safe.

    I don't usually criticize other operators but for future reference you should not pickup and haul by the longsills of the dumpbody. You probably should've forked the tube that ran under the hitch tube.

    When securing the steering wheel, would it be easier to attach both strap hooks to the base of the seat (or to the brake pedal as you did here) rather than trying to get one hook to stay connected by the wheel?

    • @plazatowing
      @plazatowing  6 лет назад +2

      If it was a standard semi truck the base of the seat would have been easily doable but in this case there was no base to go to. Brake pedal was the only option unfortunately

  • @petemedina8446
    @petemedina8446 6 лет назад +1

    That was an easy hook and book no crawling around on ground and messing with driveshaft. Does your truck not have a place for chains in the bed?

    • @plazatowing
      @plazatowing  6 лет назад +3

      It does have a spot but I removed it because it scrapes the chrome. Thanks for watching!

      Ecko Black Tire Thumper. Used to check tire pressure. A properly inflated tire makes a different sound as compared to a low tire, also bounces back differently. Obviously not as accurate as a pressure gauge but good enough to detect a low tire.

      Ecko Black quickly check tire pressures.

    • @lfsheldon
      @lfsheldon 6 лет назад +1

      I know drivers that can set pressures within a couple of pounds with a thumper.
      My thumper* now lives in the kitchen for crushing store-bought ice.
      *wooded dowel with a steel weight on the end

      Dual tires have the ugly having one of a pair (the inner one more often Duals have the nasty habit (the inner one more often than not) going flat in a non-obvious way.
      At 70 mph the flat gets very hot and explodes. Common sense and the law require they be checked periodically and unless you are deaf, the thumper is an accurate and fast way of checking 16 tiresn more accurate that most in hose gauges and a lot of pocket gauges.

      Did you see him kick the rear wheel three different time st see of the brakes stop the wheel from spinning (fails twice).

      Avoid pulling the driveshaft. Saves the guys at the shop some time and is a little faster to hookup

    • @desertrat8322

      Laurence Sheldon
      That's actually called Tactical Parking and makes for quick egress from your parking spot so you can leave quickly . Being I'm a US Marine Veteran I park like that all the time it's easier and quicker for me to do this

    Where u out the axle fork the truck will slide back and forth

    • @plazatowing
      @plazatowing  6 лет назад +3

      The way it was chained down secured the forks toward the metal on the rear of the truck and provides downward pressure to keep it from lifting out of the forks. Only way it would slide is if there were no chains but there absolutely was. Thanks for watching!
