It is shocking that someone has to point this out to you but clearly DSW does not feel at all constrained by continuity, lore, logic or reason. Those hetero normative concepts would limit their ability to produce their cherished neo marxist intersectional feminist identity politics shows. You know, for a modern audience…

Here's a novel idea. Wait until the series is over until you start to pick at supposed inconsistencies in the show. Ki-adi Mundi is not on the Jedi high council at this point. There could be a cover up in the end. Perhaps Qimir is able to kill Sol and Mae before they get back to Coresant and the secret dies with them. Regardless, Disney owns the Star Wars franchise now unfortunately. They can decide what is cannon and what isn't. They proved they don't care about what George Lucas wants when they scrapped his ideas for the sequel movies. This is our reality now so stop whining

    • @Native.Heathen
      @Native.Heathen 3 месяца назад

      No, thaaaaank you!!
Ive argued about Qimir being a sith alone breaks canon in a more detrimental way than even the ki-adi-mundi argument, because the only sith who should exist during this period are Darth Tenebrous (who was born 247-167ish & lived to 67bby) Darth Plagueis or his master; whom is a Twi-lek & maybe Darth venamis. All of who are not human, and it doesn't matter if Tenebrous is the apprentice or master, 2 sith will still exist as per the rule of 2, & we all know this is canon; legends or disney Lucas. And the rule of 2 being what allowed the sith to thrive in the shadows all the way up to the rise of the empire! anyone who claims the title of sith other than those who exist at the time; becomes a rival, requiring a duel to the death for who claims the of Lord of the sith. & Ive gotten into some lengthy arguments trying to justified how this isn't canon breaking!😩 This foundational pilar is vital for the narrative of ep1-6 that disregarding the rule of Two and the current sith of the period fucks so many things up.

This is an interesting take but it seems to rely on a few things that are somewhat unclear.
1: It assumes that there aren't other groups/factions that use force powers or light sabers, that the Jedi deal with more commonly at this timeframe, that would the the more likely suspect in a case about murdered Jedi.
In a previous episode the Jedi mention other Jedi factions and such that they think could be responsible. So a bunch of Jedi missing or dying from light sabers doesn't inherently imply "Sith" to these Jedi, as that is a very specific religion/group. AND, as long as anytime a Sith would have had a run in with JedI through that time, they killed them all and hid it properly... such events can transpire without revealing their existence.
So Ki Adi Mundi not believing that Sith have been seen in a thousand years really boils down to what info/evidence he eventually receives.
2: It assumes that the Jedi's intent to do good, will always result in "good" for everyone else' perspective. That is not necessarily the case.
For example, the Jedi have every reason to worry about random force users out in the galaxy, as they could do a lot of terrible things by accident or on purpose if seduced by the Darkside. So they have every good intention when they go to planets and insist on meeting force sensitive children, and then training them if permitted. Nothing evil about what they are trying to do, just pushy, but sometimes that is required. However, from the perspective of the people who are trying to live their own lives, do their own thing, live by their own beliefs, raise children the way they see fit, Jedi coming there is perceived as "Bad".
The truth of "Depends on the perspective" is often a matter of what it means for your life.
Sometimes two people have every good intention and can still end up at odds with one another. Sometimes two tribes can both have good intentions and end up fighting. Conflict does not always come from one side is good and the other bad.
As for Sol lying - Qui Gon Jin lied to Anikin when he tested his blood for midcloreans. Obi's whole "darth vader killed your father" line to Luke wasn't exactly truthful. Mace Windu asking Anikin to spy on the palpatine isnt exactly forthcoming.
Point being - Jedi DO, in fact, Lie. They do it for what they believe is the greater good. Some might say that all lying is dark, but then we have to say that every rebel spy who saved the galaxy from the empire was a liar and therefore bad.. I don't think its that simple.
Also Note: Showing a kid a shiny object to get their intention isnt inherently creepy, that's sometimes just an adult interacting with a kid in a way that works.
    That's my two scents.
Anyway cool video. Keep up the good work on this stuff.

I don’t mind the Acolyte’s portrayal of the Jedi. The Jedi are mortal beings and are subject to emotion and temptation. Just because they use the light side doesn’t mean they do not have failings. They have become complacent after being the primary force using organization for so long with no real challenge to that. They have had some challenges in the books, but nothing like facing their ancient enemy the Sith. And if Sol dies before getting this information to the council then Ki Adi Mundi would technically be right in The Phantom Menace; they have not seen the Sith in a millennium. They could chalk the Jedi deaths on Kohfar to the insects and possibly some kind of mind control or drugs from the bugs. That then caused them to turn on each other. Keeping the existence of the Sith a secret from the High Council.

The twins: may die or disappear once they find out the truth of what happened at the witch settlement
Qimir: is highly likely to die (he called himself a sith but were on the sith totem pole he fits no idea no Darth name so he might be the Acolyte of the current sith apprentice)
Sol :depending on how he was involved in the witches settlement fire Mae/Osha may end up killing him
Then who ever is left get sorted out by Venestra she's more concerned about appearances than doing what's right

We'll see if the showrunners were at least smart enough to do something like this, but more likely they didn't even realize they broke continuity in the first place.

Qimir was careful to conceal his actions as a Sith from the Jedi Order, which often dealt with rogue students and independent Force users.
The Jedi Order weren't plaster saints. The Sith themselves argued that the Jedi desired power and engaged in questionable conduct, which the franchise clearly shows. (Order 66 and the Jedi Purge were instigated after the Jedi Council attempted to overthrow the democratically elected government of the Republic instead of going through proper channels, presenting evidence instead of hearsay).
Obi-Wan in Episode IV explains to Luke that the Jedi had grown complacent and were largely responsible for their own destruction. You can't blame the franchise for presenting this condition on screen.

We do know the Jedi are wanting to burry this incident and not report it to the upper ups on the council and the Senate. Is it really that hard to believe Mundi and the others would be all... So, I do appreciate them kind of shieing what often happens to "heroes" whem in the absence of their great villain; what they can become without the benchmark to hold thenselves up against. I will say that this is probably seems like desperately looking for a silver lining, to what is otherwise amassing into a s---storm, but it isn't. I haven't watched this series, despite originally feeling that it had possibly the most potential, where we could have seen what new canon Darth Plagueis was up to, and if it differed from his Legends novel. Would he still be real? Just a convenient story to tempt Anakin? Still a Muun mad scientist, and moneylender? Tenebrous? It had so much hope, and the galaxy around the Jedi; the places they don't go, and can't always see, is so vast...yet here we are. To an extent I accept, and even like some alterations to established facts. Did PJ do stuff in LotR that made me shake my head? Yes, but he also made changes that I wish were what the books gad done, and even George Lucas could be a pure clod, so I don't just see his writing ad sacrosanct. HE changed things, and made mistakes, and there are whole segments of the old expanded universe that I liked more than a fair bit of the man's own writing, but there ARE established elements you shouldn't change; things that, in their own way, are the things many loved, and to day you do to, but want to change, leads me to ask "Then what dud you love, exactly?" This was my problem with Rings of Power. They also had the opportunity to fill in a timestamp that had lore, but also had space, and that one could use to "fill in" a good, even mostly original, story, but they just couldn't do that. They were TOO focused on making it theirs, and making it not, and while I can certainly see the desire to take "old classics", and make them more inclusive, or less divisive, if you feel they were, if you rip out all the bones, and replace them with plastic resin, that's not even still a dinosaur, while replacing them with other bones means it's not still THAT dinosaur. Disney is, in my mind, yanking our key bones of the core structure, and without them, it can't necessarily still stand under its own weight, or still be the thing it once was.

The Stranger (Qimir) isn't a Sith Lord. He's a skilled darkside user and a zealot who's practising the Sith tenets/"religion" for his own gain. He's a Sith Lord wannabe for sure, but he's not at the top their food chain. Also, Leslye Headland has recently stated there's a second Sith character upcoming in the mix. My guess is that Sol and possibly Qimir, will not survive. Vernestra Rohw, apparently more concerned about political implications/optics involved, will obscure, maybe even cover up the facts of the Brendok Jedi deaths so the Council will continue in their complacency believing that the Sith no longer exist right on up to their fall a century later. And unchallenged by this series, Kai Adi-Mundi's statement in TPM remains as canon.

I feel he could either have been concealing the sith as part of some order that we haven't seen in the Acolyte. It could also be that the fact a sith was involved was lied about to the council (I admit i am really stretching because so far this series has been very obvious and lacking a lot of depth)

The show last year was touted as this showcase of the 'Jedi at the peak of their powers', yet so far we have seen the exact opposite. Osha is nothing more than a damsel in distress, 6 years worth of Jedi training should have amounted to some kind of action to demonstrate this at the very least, but nothing. I am struggling to understand exactly why there needed to be twins, but alas this is probably the least of the show's unanswered problems and the list continues to pile up. I'm convinced the show is going to have an unnecessary ambiguous ending as clearly the inception of this show exposes the most fatal flaw in my opinion, which is there was never any actual long term plan to this. Otherwise I really enjoyed this video and this is the first time I have come across your content. Thanks for the input :)

I think this series has already gone beyond the point of no return with breaking canon. Three jedi masters and multiple knights killed, many sporting light saber injuries, I don't think there is a reasonable way to conceal these events. Even more than that, the show itself hasn't show any capability from the writers at subtlety, or writing in general, so I don't think they would be able to patch this mess even if they wanted to, and I don't think they do.

Disney's ownership of Star Wars has been 50/50, hit or miss imo. Some good, and some pretty bad. I don't know if some of their writers are ignorant of established Star Wars lore, or arrogant and feel they can do a better job going forward with it effectively clashing with past lore, leading to the dumb crap we've seen so far in The Acolyte? Maybe a dangerous combination of the two? .... I'm really not happy with how Disney has portrayed the Jedi. It's been pretty ham-handed and poor.

So apart from a few RUclips comments and videos from channels I trust not to go to asskissing or to hating (on any subject not just SW) I avoid the internet so I don’t know what the controversy is meant to be.
But based off the thumbnail ied guess it’s a question of is he a Sith Lord and the answer is No! I mean at the min I aren’t sure if he is even Sith, so here is the problem that a lot of fans have, they don’t know all the lore heck I don’t but I know enough, been a Sith isn’t the same as been a dark side force user it’s the same difference between believing in the Christian god but not been a Christian, been a Sith is a religion just like the Jedi order is (this is the problem with the Jedi of the prequels and apparently also of the high republic era they stopped been a religion and became a political group) it’s interesting because they make this same mistake inside the setting too out of all the Jedi we have seen on film ied say we have only seen 4 real Jedi (hermit Yoda, old Ben, Qui-Gon jinn and maybe ROTJ Luke I’m a bit iffy on Luke as I aren’t sure if he knows enough of the religion to be counted) at that point of his life, he definitely dose after the films though) and it’s a similar story for the bad guys most of them don’t believe in the Sith religion there’s a massive debate in the fandom that’s been going for nearly as long as there has been a setting if Sidius is really a Sith or just uses it to fit his needs.
But to I hate calling him this but it seems to be the name that’s stuck in the fandom smilelow Ren (or however it’s spelled, I suck at real names to so ied butcher his character name too I’ve only heard it like 3 times) I don’t think he is a real Sith he seems to know part of the Sith ways but not all of them so maybe he was been trained but the person training him died when he was still young or maybe he is a self trained Sith (the equivalent of a hedgewitch in witchcraft) this would also fit in with the Samurai film idea, basically he is something like a Rhone a masterless Samurai or in this case a masterless Sith.

This just sounds like sloppy and lazy writing / world building. No thought or effort seems to have been invested into building a believable story.
We lost somebody from my unit the other day, killed in a contact in the Congo. Why I mention this is that there are Questions when somebody gets killed in action, or just killed at work in general, be it an accident, enemy action, or for whatever reason. Significant questions, and lots of them, and lots of senior people are very interested in the answers to those questions. There is, without fail, a formal inquiry into what happened, to identify the cause and to hold people accountable, if necessary.
I cannot imagine that the Jedi Order is any different from any other organised entity, where its personnel work in hostile environments and there is risk of injury or death. One or two deaths can maaaaaybe be fudged away as an accident, but by the time the third body hits the floor, or there's more than one incident involving injury or death, there will be so much scrutiny on what's going on that it will be impossible to hide. The events very well may be spun for public consumption, but internally the truth *will* be known, if not necessarily widely.
Just the mundane side of things like HR needing paperwork to process end of service administration, and disbursing benefits to the family mean you can't just wave away deaths.

Having seen the first three episodes, and then seeing the summaries of the 4th and 5th, I’m convinced this show was mad to make fans mad. Disney’s response to the criticism has been predictable. They claim the anger is due to racist and sexist fans. But why didn’t Andor or Asoka receive the same defense from Disney? Leslie Hedland has said that she wanted to go against George Lucas’ vision and even said asked what right he had to decide what Star Wars is.
