I was in crojo as well, and it took me around 1-2 years, and then when I saw a really cheap yarn that I can afford in the local online shop which is Shopee, I got back to crochet and now I can't stop.
Now I'm even trying to start a business to sell pattern/physical products

Things that knock my my crojo back into me are:
    1. Picking up a new crochet magazine!
    2. Listening to a crochet podcast like WeCrochet on Spotify.
    3. Browsing through Instagram at the crochet hashtags (The inspo is amazing and the diversity makes me feel like I'm part of something HUGE).
    4. Looking at crochet patterns!
    5. Getting my friends together for a craft night on zoom.
    6. Reflecting on crochet's importance in history, it's so sobering to think that our ancestors crocheted out of necessity...by crocheting, I feel closer to them.
    7. Taking a road trip and getting someone else to drive! Picking up my audiobook and making a goal to finish a certain amount by the end of the car ride.

I have not felt I lost my crojo in a major way over my first year of crochet, but I really really loved the tip of trying to switch up your type of project!! I started crocheting last summer with lots of amigurumi, then in January I made a sweater! Then some other amigurumi, then I spent 5 months (104h) crocheting a dress and I was so happy to get back to amigurumi after the dress!! :D

    Crojo AND Knitjo!!!
Just have to focus elsewhere! Luckily, I have both knitting and crochet, so that when I lose one of them, I go to the other!
However, when BOTH are “lost” at the same time, I read, watch TV.
Like you, with tedious projects I often work on a “mindless” project that often helps me to go back to the once-tedious items.
Great video, as always! Thanks, Elise!

Making small doable items like 20 minute (each) balls for a a basket of balls for a baby gift keeps my crojo in check... most of the time : ) Speaking of baskets.. I love making small-ish soft baskets for everyone! I can make one in a few hours and use up tons of scrap yarn... so satisfying! Thank you for sharing these tips 😊 I’m at the take a break stage…although I’ve picked up the crochet needle now and then but the passion hasn’t returned. I feel like I’m a robot so not much has been completed. I feel bad for not finishing a birthday present that the birthday girl (13) asked me to make for her 😢
I’ve given myself a couple of weeks to try and get this finished for her.

My machine knitting mojo was lost for about 7 months. It is just starting to return. There are two things
which are instrumental in getting my mojo back: Making 12 teddy bears for a Christmas project for
young children; and preparing to design a California King blanket, which will be made on my Brother KH260
knitting machine as a wedding gift. I did switch up to something new, and that is making rugs, which also
uses yarn. Finding a machine knitting-along is hard to find in my city for there is rarely anyone who does
machine knitting. It is also nice to make something for someone needy. I look forward to getting my
full mojo back in time to machine knit winter sweaters.

My crojo tends to wane when my Etsy shop is going through a sales drought (the summer months are very slow for my shop). I usually do a combination of two things: going through my shop to see what people have in their carts, and making a project list, then organizing my yarn to get fresh ideas for what colors to use for those projects. Right now, geckos seem to be the hot item, so I guess I'll be making some geckos... as soon as I get caught up with the crochet-along I'm doing!

I have been sad because of pain I can't crochet as much as I would like. I have so many crochet and knitting projects in mind that I want to make. There aren't enough hours in the day to make them all even if I didn't have to work. I also have the added pressure that a co-worker ask me to make three hats for her I want to make them but I just haven't been able to crochet for more than a few minutes every couple of days. I need to crochet or knit more for my sanity I just have not been able to do it. I feel that I have to make her hats before I start a new project but I'm not really enjoying the process of making her hats and that makes me feel bad. She has not put any pressure on me I know that I am putting pressure on myself. I feel that I'm not making any progress. All this makes the few minutes I have to crochet or knit not as relaxing or enjoyable as the should be so I don't pick up my hooks or needles when I should. Thanks for letting me vent
