The "Light" present is so tastefully useful...a shimmer effect that isn't predictably cheesy and bright/digitally harsh in the upper frequencies, a _dark upper octave humb_ , so to speak.
Just because I waited for the Meris MercuryX to release, doesnt make this irrelevant. The Slöer is my favorite reverb of this style control and options, finally something to REPLACE the Strymon Nightsky AND be $80 cheaper! Combined elements from Juliana which is my favorite analog chorus pedal, and technically 4.5 different algorithms, its incredible. Will recommend this to everyone looking into reverb pedals, you even have a traditional reverb option with Light, the X fader removing the shimmer. For the price I argue if you arent specifically after the Mercury7 to be THE best reverb for $350 or under. The artwork and design easily makes it the most visually attractive reverb pedal of 2023. Satisfies all my wants in a screen-less reverb. 10/10 for its style of interface that currently exists.

Mako series combining Fable (microloopoing/granular), Lore (feedback loops/reverse/pitch), and Descent (octaves) please (with latching hold). It has seemed so obvious to expect I keep being shocked anytime you release something else!
This sounds like an amazing unit, and it's definitely on my list to check out - but if the noise level on this promo video is indicative of the unit, it's not something I could live with, recording-wise.
Any chance of an updated version with expression input? If even only for stretch control. Would love to hook something like an MTET up to that. Of course, fully integrated midi control would be even better, but probably also costly to implement. Cheers!

But please you guys please put a les bright light on the pedal. you literally have a 1000watt spotlight coming off of it I can’t even see the pedal when I look at it. 😂 I have to put tape over it as I think everyone else does as well. Can it handle line-level input signals? Ie can I run my synths through this without having to turn them all the way down and get a strong output signal?

@@ltmarshmellow5351 it is more experimental. The vibrato/detune and secondary options seems better on Slöer compared to R1. I previously owned Slö and give it away because the verb was only mono and I found it too low fidelity, but it looks like they fixed it...R1 is still great reverb so I will likely wait for some sale
So can I plug my 1 guitar input into the pedal, then have my 1 output cable going into my interface, and still get a stereo signal? or do I need two output cables both going into the interface? &&&&& then what's the function of the 2 input jacks?
2 input jacks would be for another stereo pedal before it, like a delay pedal or some choruses. I’m not sure if you can achieve stereo with only one cable, but you’ll need to at least have two coming from the output
I'll have to check those out, too. My board is currently the BigSky, Timeline, and Hologram. I'll also use a trusty old DL4 for one of my groups, but it's starting to show its age.
The Slö range of reverb pedals are great (I own a Slötvå). But with this "Big Sky" version of the pedal, Walrus expanded its capabilities yet failed to improve the overly-complex system of secondary functions. It appears that a lot of control panel space was spent on the sliders, when instead we *really* needed separate controls for wave shape and modulation speed. Also (as with the Slötvå) having no manual mode means that you never know where the knob positions actually are until you turn each one to show where that preset is set to.
Appreciate the feedback, but FYI, this pedal is a good bit smaller than the size of a Bigsky. Also, the faders take up the same amount of space than if we were to make them knobs. So even if they were made into knobs, there really isn't enough room for more controls and this pedal doesn't warrant being any larger. And since you're comparing it to the Big Sky, the Slöer functions the exact same way as far as how it boots up in the last preset you used. If you adjust a knob then the preset LED will change color to indicate that you've gone off preset. The same way that the Big Sky functions. It may seem complex at first but it's pretty simple once you play around with it to hold bypass then select the waveform!

Why can't it be either for all of them? Why would I ever want to pan reverb? Why isn't this a Mako pedal with on-board octaves for each algorithm, latching/sustain for each algorithm, and a section dedicated to the "glitch like textures" from the R1??? Its the best glitch texture I've ever heard and its only available in that obscure format. You guys already have all this tech but you keep drip feeding it in these super expensive FV-1 releases. Did you guys lose your SHARC team or what? It's really getting annoying to invest in the Walrus ecosystem when you keep developing FV-1 formats for over $300 while having a stagnant, similarly priced SHARC format not growing. Not only that but I could absolutely see a future Mako pedal totally undercutting the market for these in the near future, as per Walrus history. Y'all have some great algorithms but these practices are getting really old.
Nice art piece. For the studio ok perhaps if your song is slow. Live on stage? Most concerts are delivered in mono. With drums bashing away? So who is this for? Ambient non musicians who need all the help they can get? Pedal manufacturers are smart they know there are rich people who will buy this. It’s overkill for most. How many people who buy this are gigging? Or are finishing original music. Lol.
You should care, because if their first stereo pedal (this one) gets huge then they’ll be highly incentivized to release their other stuff as stereo… like reverses

Very good pedal, and I have had two walrus pedals that I love, but I think you need the option to save preset like the halo Delay from AT,
You can save up to three presets. Press and hold the two stomp switches for a couple seconds and it will save your settings!

It does not. The chip can't handle that kind of processing. However, our Mako Series R1 can do that!
