This is a verry special place lots of history.im verry thankful and lucky to have access.best mineing video I've seen.petr does a awesome job documenting this adventure
Wow!!! Looks like you had a great time. I thought for a minute you were going SCUBA mining. LOL! I guess you have to be part chemist to separate the gold from the other metals.
Scuba videos coning this Sumer hopefully, me and Chad got os dredges with air and I got property with big river and gold in deeper spots , we will try recover it :)
Thats amazing. Im in oconee and want to start prospecting or at least get more than a pan going what county is this in if you dont mind sharing? I know only a couple counties around Cherokee that have had mines that used to eb active. Id love to start detecting again havent since i was a teenager. Only 23 still. Found about 10 pounds of hen of the woods yesterday too! Lol lots of chanterelles around me but hen of the woods is like a once a year joy! Lmao
This place looks very very familiar. If it's the same place I think it is, I have found lots of crystals and quartz. Upstate, S. C. That's where I'm from....
@@djpitr wrll as you got further in the video there was a part where your friend was walking on the hill next to the water with a cave that I did not recognize so it's not that place after all. I live in Pickens County and it's very similar, the area looked familiar. And no, I don't go on private property. Especially in SC. Lol.
@@janehardin this is in Spartanburg county, I know some old mines around lake Jocassee with good gold and couple on lake hartwell around Clemson, bud I did not find much gold there
@@djpitr I think I know where you're talking about. I have purchased most of my panning supplies in a store in Spartanburg County can't remember the name of it but the guy told us about a hot spot close to his business but we had to get permission. And he showed some photos which is probably why it looked familiar to me. Cowpens is my hometown and I thought it was super cool someone on RUclips was mining in my state. And you have an accent lol. You're definitely not a southern boy. Sweden? Anyway, welcome to South Carolina. I enjoyed the video.
Yes , I prospect last 10 years or so , I been all over NC,SC,GA , lot of gold around here :) Cowpens have good gold , Gaffney, and all around, great gold , and yes I not local boy ;) I’m from Czech Republic originally , I came to Greenville 22 years ago
@20:16 I wouldn't want to mess with that specie of a spider, especially when it's protecting it's eggs or pregnant. Their bites can transmit a virus or deadly disease. And their bites can hurt like hell. I certainly don't want to piss off their queen spider, I know they can be super sensitive and very self defensive and of their eggs.
@@djpitr I went to a creek in Ridgeway SC only a mile from the old mine there. Spent 2 days and didn't find a single flake. There was lots of quarts and black sand, but no gold. I made a camp in the woods next to the creek and stayed there for a night. Coyotes were all around me. It was spooky. I worked really hard but didn't find anything. Super bummed out on my first gold mining adventure. But I did enjoy the wilderness, the hunt, and learning how to use my new gold mining kit from Amazon. I just need to find a new place and at least get a flake or two lol.
@@ryanwachstetter262 dam , sounds like fun :) the start is hard before you find your creeks;) . If you was closer I would take u one Sunday out , if you never found any gold to show you , sometimes the gold is only in small part of creek. And sometimes you have it in every pan
Do you mind sharing what county this is? I just moved to Greenville from Atlanta. I did a lot of prospecting up in North Georgia with success. Gold seems hard to find around here, thanks!
@@SouthCarolinaProspecting yes most places are private property, you got to get permission , Oconee county around LDMA club is Sumter national forest , there is gold , I found couple creeks in Greer with gold , bud on private property
