Outstanding movie. I love David singing Station to Station and Christine is enjoying every bit of the concert. Outstanding soundtrack. Thank you for sharing this treasure piece of music. Cheers from Indiana.

Wow! This soundtrack/movie started my love for Bowie back in 1981! Glad to hear your thoughts about it!

I saw this film in its original limited American release, and was greatly impacted by it, with its raw depiction of abject young lives. My own life was nothing like those of the characters, yet I could identify with them and rally for their resilience and survival. I was aware of David Bowie before the film, but many of the tracks heard there were new to me, and after investing in the soundtrack album (not the German pressing shown here), it became one of my favorites, with "Heroes/Helden" a passionately embraced anthem of my adolescence. This review brings back a lot of nostalgic memories of that time of my life.

I have this vinyl, it's a feeling of presence, a little masterpiece. Especially when David Bowie sings Herpes in German is a magical moment.

I most probably am wrong so forgive my hearing but is that the true soundtrack you listen to on the film or is it just the album versions of them, because im pretty sure at least like 2 or 3 of them sound different on the film than the album version, almost as if live versions or idk, and if you try looking for this album online it only has the album versions

Good question! I’d need to compare that. The Station To Station is from a live version though and I do notice a lot of difference in EQ’ing in the film (the sound designer, cleverly, makes it resemble the frequencies that are most present when the music is played to load in a club).

@@top5records796 interesting thanks, yeah the station to station part does needed to sound live since they're supposed to be on the concert, but sides that one there are others so yeah maybe they're those songs that are played at the club scenes that sound different, so maybe they are the album versions but all the noise makes them sound different, but can't remember exactly, it's been a couple of months since last time I watched the film
