From Mr Robot Season 3 Episode 1 "eps3.0_power-saver-mode.h" - Zhang intends for Elliot to die once his work for the Dark Army is complete. In a panic that Elliot might die, Tyrell calls used car salesman and Dark Army agent Irving. Elliot wakes up a week later in a room with Angela. He finds the firmware hack building empty. Darlene shows up and pumps him for information, but he lies and says Tyrell was never involved. Irving shakes their FBI tail and Elliot thinks he has called off Stage 2. Thinking his revolution made things worse, he asks Angela for a job at E Corp to fix things. That night, Mr. Robot emerges and Angela takes him to work with Irving and Tyrell, creating another way to advance Stage 2. Angela plans to manipulate Elliot along like Mr. Robot does, believing in Whiterose's plan to undo everything E Corp has ever done and create a new world.

Dramatised, sure - but this was a Def Con CTF tournament where the energy is turbo IRL, unlike most other CTFs.
@@NeoStoicism tedious back runs to solve complicated problems aren’t exactly congruent with being cool and a loud environment.
I was never again so in love with a series since Breaking Bad

I don't think it's underrated, I just think it's under-known. It seems that everyone that watches it agrees it to be a masterpiece - myself included.
It's better that it's underrated most shows become lame when they go mainstream.

"The only hacker space with a dedicated fiber connection" makes me think about the first episode with Ron's coffee having said dedicated gigabit fiber connection.
Maybe this hackerspace was set up after Ron's coffee closed?

The Office youtube channel also posts clips every week. So no I don't think there will be a continuation. I don't think the show can go any further now that the mastermind is no longer in control.
@Dreaming Away or we can have another actor under similar psychological conditions and then both of them meet and dominate. Somehow elliot sis gets killed and elliot grieved and throws the mission getting the new actor to die/go missing. Now elliot is on the run from the US gob because he acted as whistle blower along with the actor like wiki leaks guy. He migrated to some Asian country and after spending an year there he suddenly sees the guy. After few episodes we learn it's just his brain acting up but then we learn this was necessary to trace the clues back to the guy. They finally meet up and realise whatever they set out to do.
I don't think it needs to be continued (as much as I'd love to watch more). The show had a concise ending in mind from the very beginning, which was wrapped and executed. It's one big story arc that is perfectly complete.
Hope is the first step towards disappointment

This show started off really promising but devolved into the typical main character is a superhuman at what he does thing. I really enjoyed the normality he started off with. One of us, you know?
I agree season 1 is the best season, I still love the show. But I wish it would have stayed with the hacker theme more. I wish they could do a prequel starring another group of hackers, running from the law, and dark army.
You're supposed to care more about the characters and the plot by then, which must worse shows have made me permanently apathetic to.

But in my opinion it still differentiates itself with more realistic emotional consequence in the characters, which, especially in the last season, leads to a very intriguing deconstruction of the superhero trope.

This is impossible. Nothing prevents a spin-off showing the hacks of young Elliot from happening, but it is almost impossible with the same cast, Rami Malek is a very expensive actor and currently he can choose what he will work with.
I wish there was new series about hacking!

Wow, i did not know that the 'ls' command automatically connects you to a host.
He connected using a perl script (a backdoor was already running iirc)
Thats also why `ls` echoes "sent" first - it is not `ls` but the perl script
I think the Perl script in this movie just prints a code of text.
Then in the folder where he is in, the created a file with the name ‘sent’. Hence if you send the command ls you see files in the folder.
Noticing the #, I assume he is in a normal shell mode.
@@Grayfox3214 we can't know for sure as they could have done anything behind the scenes. What matters is that there is a scenario where their story works and that scenario is, given that it is a movie, actually not unlikely.
Regarding the "#": that can also be part of the backdoor client to let the user know they can now input commands - something many rudimentary backdoor clients do.
Edit: To make my point clear - What you do is like saying "they did not actually shoot that guy" when someone gets shot in a movie. Of course not, its a movie. For the story, that can still work though.
@@was3490 I agree with that we don’t know for sure. But it’s most likeable that this backside opens a shell on SSH/Telnet/Serial r232 which opens a new prompt.
Unless in his Perl script he has written a ‘ls’ future as a object or script effect. It’s not logical to build a unix ls command in a script/programma if your operating on a Linux system.
@@Grayfox3214 I disagree. Firstly, he would not have written a perl script to open SSH or telnet or whatever, hr could have just done it manually and there would not even be the need for a backdoor running on the server in the first place.
