Ah! This video takes me back to 2015 then I left my job to explore Korea for 9 months. TBH, I discovered more about myself these months than I had in three long years in the corporate world. Reflected on life and finding a new path for myself. It’s a huge step to take, and Kudos for chasing your dreams and making them a reality! 🌟
Nice sharing. You are really positive and inspiring! Very sincere in your sharing too. I just subscribed to your channel. Keep it up and i am looking fwd to seeing more of your daily life vlog at Jeju!!🎉
Just when I thought I am the only person to record my expenses on a daily basis or whenever I am free.. Have fun and take care in Jeju! Do more of these videos please!!!
Like u very much. Very sincere video and I hope everyone can be like u.. living a life u wanted instead of fighting for butter and bread. Hope to see more of your content.
Hi Demi, I would like to know if you have any other visa other than the tourist visa for 3 months or did you just go to somewhere and come back to korea for another 3 months? And since you have been learning korean, which level are you at currently? :) As I think I am quite similar to you as I have left my corporate job to pursue what I really want to do. Thanks!
Went to Japan then I came back to reset the 3 months. Errrrr haha I only completed Beginners 1 Term 2. The time I spent in Jeju talking to my host, dramas, variety and just practicing really helped a lot!
@@DemiZhuang ah I see! So you just went to japan and go back to korea again to reset the 3 months. Are you intending to be a digital normad in korea or? And so you self learn korean after term 2? :) Thank you!
👍🏻 for being brave to go out to chase your dreams and inspire others to do the same via your video. Wish you all the best and look forward to more videos from you 😊
Hi Demi, do u alr have some frens in Jeju or are u socialising actively? Jus thinking in a new environment on your own, it is important for your mental health to have a circle of support F2F besides focusing on your work. And besides cheaper rental, what else of Jeju or anywhere else outside SG is making it a more conducive environment than SG? Thanks for sharing your thoughts, take good care.
Hello, I have some people I know in korea and my host at where I'm at right now is like family. Extremely grateful to them. Just the fact that it's quieter and more peaceful here is good enough of a reason for me to be here. Like many bustling cities similar to singapore it can get suffocating to some and that was how it was for me. Taking a break somewhere helps me reset before coming back home.
Thank you for posting videos like this, really could resonate with your thought process! You are definitely really brave to choose your path! Inspired by your courage and decision making. Would love to see more of your Jeju life :D
Thank youu 🙂 I took classes in Singapore in 2022 for 5 months! After that I just listened to a lot of korean conversations picked things up here and there. Still a lot to work on!
Too suffocating already. I’m not that extreme 🫢 I’ve tried a few and wanted a comfortable place where I feel good so it allows me to be at my most productive state.
all the best demi. i'm a new fan of your videos as i'm already 31 with a few kids and while my take-home pay is a lot, i feel that i'm still not in full control of my expenses. btw, do you have a video explaining how you generate so much income from youtube? in one of your monthly videos i noticed you blurred out some of the info.. so i'm just curious where this money is coming from apart from adsense
Hi Demi, signed up for the trust card for ATM withdrawal overseas using your referral code. I understand that you are going with the miles route hence are you able to share what credit card combo are you using when overseas?
Enjoy Japan, Demi! I think we live in the same neighbourhood in SG although I’ve yet to run into you. I’ve been consuming your content since last year and only recently started this account so recently just subscribed to you here. It’s also thanks to you that I started using YouTrip and subsequently Trust card. I wish I started my personal finance journey and managed my money better way earlier. Nevertheless, what you’re doing is definitely inspiring. Always look forward to your content.
Ahh sometimes i miss certain comments. Thank you for this messsage! Never too late to start, today is earlier than tomorrow! On this journey with you guys!
I've soloed travel to Jeju, back in 2018 as well, really great environment and the elderlies there are really fit! Do hike the hallasan as well, remarkable experience but be very careful and bring lots of water (2L at least) and drink conservatively. I've visted the black beach, songsan ilchubong and many more. Miss jeju!
funny, auditor earn so little? Anyway, one thing I noticed about a few youtubers already where before they started out this path, their previous job give them very low pay. I guess that is the push factor. Anyway whats up with Jeju island....nobody one? so quiet...........
To many, it is a bold move quitting a stable job and move overseas, but I beg to differ after experiencing it. I left Singapore in 2018 for a work holiday visa in Australia for a year. Even if I am just earning minimum wage and depleting my savings, it was still the best bold decision I’ve ever made in life. It give me a chance to be independent, resilient and thought me to be a much wiser person. Except that back then I wasn’t financially savvy back then 😅 and that it why I moved back to Singapore to a corporate day job again hoping to buy myself that opportunity again. I think you have achieved that balance of both and an inspiration to many! Keep on doing what you’re doing 😊
Given that your channel is based on personal finance in the Singapore context, wouldn’t be based in korea make u less relevant? That aside, awesome content! Keep it going!
Given that most that I cover is budgeting mindsets, a path less travelled in terms of career, credit cards, investing, it doesn't matter where I'm based out of. It might even resonate to some who wish to do the same, remote work abroad or take a mini retirement, how to plan your finances for it etc. My content isn't going towards vlogging about korea.
Part 2 of How Much I Spend in a Day Living in South Korea on a Day Off will come soon so subscribe and follow along! 🙂
It's never easy to step out of a comfort zone and pursue something different, especially in a whole new country. All the best!
Appreciate it! :)

Thank you for sharing your experiences. May I ask if you need to obtain some kind of residence visa to be able to live long term in South Korea?
Sg passport allows 3 months, no visa required.
Seoul goshiwon (a tiny room) is around 300-500 usd

Hi ! Are you using Capcut for video editing and are you using the free Visa to stay in Korea (90days ) and japan( 90days) ?
Hello! Filmora. and yes! 90days in korea. Japan I'm only going for a holiday then I'll be back in Korea.
Is there a language barrier or do you speak Korean? Edit: I see you answered that 😊
Hi Demi, signed up for the trust card for ATM withdrawal overseas using your referral code. I understand that you are going with the miles route hence are you able to share what credit card combo are you using when overseas?
People usually use instarem amaze pairing to earn miles overseas but I don't. Still using trust, youtrip + wise :)

Haha watch this - ruclips.net/video/FdWvRU_H8Cs/видео.html (July Money Diaries where I covered my income)
Did you go by yourself? If so how you deal with being by yourself.
Yes I went by myself. I grew up very independently so I'm fine being on my own.
@@DemiZhuang emotionally you are able to cope too? i remember when i solo travelled, first few days was hard
@@chilly2171It varies from person to person. For example, a few of my male colleagues don't even dine put alone and are intrigued by me eating alone
