I hate wilson so much. Ive got the last book of unwritten to read and nothing he could do will redeem my feelingd towards him as a character. Wilson literally brainwashed two kids, was an absent father who only interacted with his family (primarily his son) to help turn him into a weapon, creating stories to link him with the leviathan and force him into a world he never wanted to be apart of. He made toms life hell, and then out of nowhere he just left and went missing, telling tom nothing and only sending the second brainwashed child to protect him while she herself didnt know what she was really up against, she hardly benefitted tom and even tried to push him away from things that would help him (unknowingly). If she knew more she wouldve actually been able to help tom. But yet, wilson blames her for not doing a good enough job and even telling him the very few things she actually knew, but apparently she wasnt supposed to do that. Wilson has also glazed over the fact that tom watched him murder a guy (pauly) when he was a kid (great parenting right?) Then he randomly shows up, creates a new book about tom, proceeds to not tell him any useful information, dies and lets tom figure everything out on his own. Then we see him again much later, in hell being tourtued by pauly, apparently he spilled everything about everything and then he gets surprised when pauly (a literal murderer) calls him out for his awful actions. Man wilson doesnt even know whats going on at this point but he acts like everything is going to plan. Wilson proceeds to leave an unconscious pauly to fend for himself while society is collapsing (granted he did try to kill him), and then when pauly finally finds him again, wilson locks him in a room resulting in him being manipulated by pullman. Wilson then proceeds to act like he can bring tom back (he cant, tom brought himself back) and then continues to act like he knows what is going on and he literally gets beaten in an argument with his son tom because his plan was just straight up stupid. Not to mention that everything bad that happens in the stoty is caused by wilson turning tom into a weapon, if tom wasnt messed with by wilson, pullman would not have been able to harm the leviathan therfore half of the bad events in thr story never would have happened and most things would be fine. Sorry not sorry Wilson.
Nah, Pullman was going to find a way to hurt Leviathan anyways, it was his ultimate purpose from the start. Wilson made huge mistakes but then he realized how dangerous Cabal is. Tom was the only way to stop Cabal so he used Tom as a weapon. At the end of the day, he had a dark past and was not a good person, but you can’t deny his role in defeating Pullman.
