Hi Jaque, hey question if my salt system when i do a test shows the arrow to the far left - i assume producing too much clorine? i have the envoy set at #1 and still when i run a test shows to the far left at about 3 o'clock position - any way to fix this so it at 12 o'clock position?
@@markbair1269 great question however the dial has nothing to do with the chlorine it has to do with how much salt is in the water and how much life is left in the cell. So it will move around quite a bit (hint it it’s never the salt so check it before you ever add more). I would recommend turning the envoy up to a 5-7 depending on your usage. I hope this answers the question
@@TheHotTubLady nope didnt answer my question. if its pointed after a test at the 3 or 4 o'clock position what does that mean then ? i assumed too much production of clorine by the salt system? if i turn up to 5-or-7 wont it be worse? im really confused
I am a snowbird I go to Florida every winter for 2 and a half months. I have recently purchased the hot springs envoy. Any recommendations for me for winter. I live in Rochester ny should I close the tub in the winter or what should I do while I’m away
I got a bull frog jacuzzi and have it on my unheated enclosed porch. They delivered it in 97 degree weather last summer. I have been in it 8 time since because I have been traveling. Now I need to understand at what temp I should keep it at. Do I turn on the heat to 103 when I want to get into it or do I leave it on a constant temp all the time? I have noticed that it tends to dry my skin...any suggestions on that issue because I'd like to star using the tube after my gym workouts at least 5 times a week. I'm about 65 years old so my skin isn't wht it used to be. Thank you.
That’s totally awesome…. I like to keep mine at 101 degrees. You get the most health benefit out of 104 however I do not suggest keeping it at 104. Keep it at 103 if you like it that hot…. I am Typically in mine twice a day so I like it cooler so I can stay in longer. Dry skin is typically caused itchyby low alkalinity. But if that is line I suggest getting some Soft skin spa. It is amazing and works really well. amzn.to/3F5aAgK
Hi great video what is your away for six months over winter time we are in the U.K. on the south coast it’s never really that cold -1 at the most. Regards Nick
Thank you so much! We just bought a cabin that has a hot tub. The previous owners drained it before they moved out and now it is freezing/snowing etc. Can you make a recommendation on how to clean it and get ready to use it now? In the winter?
Jacque. Great information. I would suggest everyone install a 12-in Frost-Proof Anti Siphon Sillcock. Available at the big boxstores. ($28.92 @ Lowe's) That way you can leave the water on year round and continue to top off your hot tube as you normally due. Basically it shuts the water line off within your house wall and as long as you leave your outside hose open freezing temps have no impact. When you want to add water to top off the hot tub, attach your filter to the hose and open the sillcock. Piece of cake.
I would invest in some hurricane straps to help on windy days. Always make sure you unhook them before opening that is what usually breaks them. If they do break very easily replaced.
@@cindyhoefs1967 yes I would recommend the @ease chlorine system or a bromine floater as granular chlorine does have to be added almost daily. Also balance alkalinity first and your oH should balance out
Jacque, you're amazing. Thanks for all the great tips. Question(s) for you..... When you say clean, do you mean a soak as opposed to a rinse? I take my filters out once a week and will rinse them in the bath tub pretty well, but I've only done a chem soak on them once (I've had the tub since August). Granted, I do have one back up set so I swapped the backups in, and now the first set is cleaned, dry, and sitting in my basement ready for a swap out again. Thoughts? Also, when you do take the filters out for swap out or clean, am I correct in thinking that the tub power must be turned off? Besides the actual swapping out, I always have *at least* the filters in place or the skimmer bag, but I do turn the tub off while I'm swapping out (which makes me a bit nervous in super cold temps, but it's only off for about 15 minutes tops!). I don't want any gunk to go into the filter holes. Thoughts? I don't own a Hot Springs spa but something comparable. Thanks! :)
I make sure the keys are not running but I do not turn the tub off. If you leave the leaf bag in you will be safe even up to overnight. You are doing a great job. 😀 thanks for watching
What temperature do you recommend keeping the tub at if you use it regularly in winter. I have been keeping it at 102 steadily would it be better to lower it and turn it up before using it?
I keep mine at 102 but that is the beauty of having your own hot tub you can keep it where you want it. You get the best benefits at 104 but that is to warm for me.
Any thoughts or recommendations for a hot tub at a newly purchased rental property? Basically ultra, ULTRA high-use is anticipated once we get things ready for AirBnb and such. Recommendations in between each rental? (Could be 2 nights, could be a week...) Just shock it? but otherwise follow a maintenance schedule? I'm getting the hang of some things but the scale of things (and trusting renters) once we get the business side of things running freaks me out.
I would highly recommend a floater system. As much as I am not a fan a bromine floater is probably your safest bet. I would recommend a shock after each use. This is overkill, but renters can be very hard on products. Will you be doing weekly checks either by yourself or with a maintenance company. Bromine is highly acidic so you would need to check the water balance on a weekly basis and I am not sure I would trust a renter with that. The Icare water monitor might be a good help with that... ruclips.net/video/-CmrRMW_q90/видео.html I hope this is helpful

If you do not have anyone that will come check on it at least every 2 weeks I would suggest winterizing it yes.
Should the water level be just under the pillows at the pillows lowest or highest setting?
Personal preferences it is easier to explain at the bottom of the pillow. In where in between bottom of pillow or above the highest jet

Does a floating device help to keep chlorine levels in the winter months. I have to add in almost every other day. Also adjust ph up once a week
