Do you live where it get crazy cold in the winter? Will you need any of these accessories? Here is another video that talks about not letting your hot tub freeze. ruclips.net/video/O6X8GGmW6Hk/видео.html
Love your channel, I'm new to hot tubs so I'm researching all aspects. I purchased a plug and play unit and plan on using it year around and will be putting it on my deck. My question would be if I should put some type of insulation between the hot tub and pressure treated lumber? Do you think a heated pad like the one in this video would work to help heating in the winter? I live in Massachusetts and it gets pretty cold at times. Thank you for your advise.
If you buy a well insulated one you will be fine. I do not recommend putting anything under the tub itself. Here in South Dakota we just put them out and they do fine. Make sure you get on that is insulated and has an actual heater! Thanks for the support
I got the heater I ordered thru your link today. The instructions specifically say do not use in Hot tubs! Also says do not immerse the handle and cord in water and make sure to put it in something that withstands boiling water as it is designed to hear it to boiling. I'm not one to sweat the disclaimers. Have you had any issues using the heater in a plastic bucket and with the handle and cord submersed? I'm thinking I could sit it on one of the seats so the handle is out of the water and just drill a bunch of holes in the bucket to let the water flow through the sides instead of over the top. Thoughts?
Never had an issue and I have been using this exact set up for well over 7 years on hundreds of hot tubs. It works like a charm. Thanks for reading the fine print. I do appreciate it. Thanks for watching :-)
I love the idea of that hot tub heater but when I clicked the link it says that the black part of the heater can not be submerged? can you let me know I would like to buy it.
I did check the link this is new. We have been submerging them for years. You should not ever be using the hit tub with a bucket heater we have literally used hundreds of these and they have worked great
Hi, I had my hot tub turned off for the winter and decided I wanted to use it but the water temperature is way below the operating temperature. How can I heat up the water so as to get the spa back working? Over the summer and fall months I would only put it on when I know I was going to use it, but for the winter should I have it run all the time? I'm in New York and this is my first winter with this spa. It's a master spa legend lsx 1050.
Absolutely you should set it at the temp you want to be using it and leave it there! If your hot tub is wired 220 it should heat about 4 degrees an hour
@@charwynd.1949 you should be able just to turn the heat on the hot tub. You can get one of these submersible heaters if you want but the tub itself should heat on its own if everything is working correctly.
When I used the link for the tank heater, the description and an image on the Amazon listing clearly say that the unit cannot be fully submersed in water ... the black top and cord need to be out of the water. So I am wondering how you sink this thing in a 5 gallon bucket to the bottom of the hot tub. There are fully submersible heaters out there, though.
They added that disclosure after the video was done. Obviously you would never sit in the water with the heater in it. I have used this exact heater literally hundreds if not thousands of times but yes I will add the fully submersible heaters as well however I have not tried them personally yet
I really wish I could however it doesn’t work that way. I do have some really good friends in the industry in New York. If you would like to send me away to get a hold of you on my Instagram PM. I’ll forward the info. @thehottublady.
I keep mine inside right by the door though. I have thought of moving it outside as i think it would work well, but my set up is so close tot the door it works great and I don’t have to go outside to load the towel warmer.
Most of the time the heater will shut down and you have power in the house yet. Typically 90% of the time it is a dirty filter. This has saved literally thousands of hot tubs for us but yes if you completely are out of power this will not work. Thanks for watching
Thank you for the knowledge.....we are new hottub owners and we want the best experience we can have with us and our kids. We will be buying just about everything on Amazon 😀
You can’t. Unless you use a generator. This is for situations when the hot tub stops heating typically due to a dirty heater or low water level or hot tub malfunctions. If you have no power at all you probably have bigger problems then the hot tub freezing unfortunately
Yes my expreience is with all the thousands of hot tubs I have sold over the years is the closer it is to the door the more you will use it. Congratulations. You will love having a hot tub!
First thing I got out of this is- I'm thankful I live in California for a change! lol Thank you for your videos, I have learned so much. I haven't had a hot tub in about 10 years (Sovereign_ my youngest learned how to swim in and she just swam across Lake Tahoe this summer! Loved that tub!) and a lot has changed. We just ordered our TX a couple of weeks ago (we are now empty nesters and wanted to put the hot tub on the 2nd story deck and the TX fits perfectly), looks like a February delivery date. I just got the towel warmer based on your video. My Honey thought I was crazy, but we tried it out last night and it was AMAZING! (sorry I didn't use your link but I will in the future) I also got the acrylic wine glasses. Another option for coffee mugs is the double walled stainless steel ones, like Yeti, however I have Miir ones (much cheaper but great quality)and they are awesome. Love the idea of the knit cap suggestions and I will be ordering the adapter for the sink and the hose, thank you!
Aww thank you so much. The TX is an awesome tub and you will love it. You never have to use my links... this is just about getting useful information out to the Happy Hottuber crew. I thought about listing the Yeti, however I do not personally like drinking warm drinks out of metal cups just a personal preference on my part. Thank you so much for the support and I am thrilled to help you out. Thank you
Two questions: Advantage over a towel warmer over just throwing your towels in the dryer. If your tub loses power and freezes how are you going to plug in your portable warmer?
You won't be able to throw your towels in a dryer either if the power is out. But for me, the dryer is quite a bit away from the hot tub, so having the towel warmer right next to the hot tub will be great.
Two awesome questions thanks for bringing them up. I have done the cooler and towel in the dryer thing and it works great. Highly recommend it, however for me I love the towel warmer more as I do not have to think about it in advance. I just hit the button on the way into the hot tub and it is absolutely awesome. I truly love my towel warmer. On the freeze guard kit... i should of specifically said when you lose power to the heater. We actually rent out over 150 of these ever winter for instances when the hot tub shuts down. In a situation such as Texas had last year it would not work but in 97% of the instances this will take care of the problem. If you have a well insulated hot tub such as a Hot Spring or Caldera you will have 10-14 days before that hot tub will freeze from 101 with no power and you leave the cover on. (I have personally experienced this) In today's world if we are without power for more then 10-14 days we do have a bigger problems then our hot tubs. Great questions and these suggestions are items that I use and love and wanted to share with all my Happy Hottuber Crew. Thanks for the support and #KeepMakingLifeEpic

what do you think about the filter flosser they sell to clean the filters?
Filter flossers are great
Merry Christmas

I just ordered another one

Please don’t plug all those heaters into one extension cable
