I'm very new to the hobby and this is one of the best videos I've seen, the explanations are so good and everything is illustrated as you build this and put it together, I will be watching a lot more of your videos and hopefully help make my car a lot faster
This was a great introduction to the setup, I really learned a lot from this video. Thank you.
Wow im commenting on this vid 8 years later. Haha still useful info. Just ordered all the parts you mentioned 😅
Thanks for the tutorial I appreciate your effort to write the parts in the description too
Is there any updated versions of this kind of video? Either 2022 or 2021 or 2020?
what's the most fun chassis to build? I was building years ago but had no budget to build a good car. now I want to build from scratch, i want to invest time to have a fun building. thanks for your videos you're awesome!
Thanks a lot mad tang. Your videos are very helpful to all racers just starting, including me. Keep it up. Is there any video of yours about the performance of this car in the track. I would love to watch it 😁
+Era Villacarillo thanks~
i almost win in 3 laps,.. but the car,.. is increasing speed and acceleration,. and jump to the ramp and i lose :( i use hyper dash pro only and the track is 3 lines with two sided ramps,.. but thanks to my newbie car ^_^
If I change the damper setting to front and rear instead middle and rear would that will be ok? Or middle and rear is the best setup for beginners?
Like always, your videos are awesome! 👍👍
Hi, i am new to tamiya... i want to build side damper class in indonesia
.. could you review or explain pro or cons about using tapered roller ?
Can you please explain why you prefer ringless rollers for the front?
sir can I use raikiri instead
I love your vids pls continue to help us
For the gear bearing, I see that you are using the Gear Bearing Set while some people suggest using AO 520; what are their difference?
the heavier the kit('cause of screws) .. will it make the car faster or slower? ...
faster : 'cause it push the chassis down so the air will flow easier?
slower : it's heavy what else? ...
so what do you think? can help me with this one?
what double shaft motor do you suggest?
i think hyper dash pro is ok
Great video Mad Tang! One question:
Will the Phantom Blade body fit the MA chassis?
Is there anyway you can straighten the shaft on your own? Buying the packs and finding bent shafts is a waste of good money
the best way~ use 72mm hollow shaft! 70% of hollow shaft are 100% straight! Unfortunately , the reinforce shaft only 5-10% are straight!
Can I use any kit as long as it is a MA chassis? The Edge is always sold out lol
I like......
Thanks man! so any rollers mounted on that would also get the downthrust right?
do you have video for MA speedtech set up?
whats the difference of your front plate to this GP498 HG Carbon Front Wide Stay (1.5mm)? can i just use this instead?
thanks

Is there a difference between tamiya 94917 and 15473?
First of all nice video and very informative. I played this back in the late 80's in the philippines where i live. Now that i live in US parts are hard to find. HobbytownUSA the closest hobby shop in my place didn't carry everything and will not get anymore even if i order.
So where did you get all those parts. I need carbon FRP's at least 3 of each for AR, MS and RS. I also need rollers prefferably black in color at leat 20 pieces or 10 pairs. And also the AO ball bearings for 10 car setup. And i also need a racing circuit but would buy it later. Please help!!! Thank you.
Local Hobby you can go which have parts available is TQRCRACING.COM, located at Chino Hill, California.
Second , the Marukai Artesia Store, locate at Gardena California. Third, Ultimate Hobbies, located at Orange, California.
and also in Bay area of California, you can go to Midas Collection located at SF california. By the way , only TQRCRACING has online shop you can purchase online. Or you can buy from EBay outside of USA.
Mad Tang Thanks for the info. I was so excited to see all the parts that i want listed in TQracing. Sad to say all that wanted was sold out. Really wanted the carbon plates and the 19mm rollers but it's all sold out. So i guess my best net is just go to the stores you listed. Couple of questions. Do they carry all the the parts that i wanted specially the carbon plates and the rollers and second i'm from Fresno so the closest will be the midas collection which is in SF, so the have plenty of inventory on all the parts i listed?
@mad tang , cap screw set 15454 vs AO threaded shaft 94809, which one is better?
Hi Tang, need your help, wish to find out from you will Tamiya 95063 & 95064 front & rear plate fit & work better on the MS chassis?
Very awesome video .. i have question.. what if i use 15475 rollers for front n rear?
Mas Bayu o.k. what size of roller to use on the setting, it is really depend on track layout... if you use 15475. it is fine. but if the track have a lot of wave section, you better use 19mm
Mad Tang i see .. so itwill better if i make rollers setting later( after see the track).. 15475 13mm Ball Bearing Set II
ok thx bro
hi...troubleshoot for ramp jump fail..super ii & ma chassis..tqvm
No car can fit to all type of track, no motor can fit any type of track either! Learn and improve, understand different concept of setup the car which fit to the track you want to race.

6 years later and I discover a cheaper hack: Buy the Basic Tune Up Set for your Chasis then buy the Upgrade parts. It saves you some money because you wont have to buy the basics because it's already provided by the basic tune up parts.
Nice Video! Can I ask if this setup have natural downthrust for the front roller? thanks!
+Perkins Jon Ong the original chassis, if you didnt cut front bumper, it has about 4 degree angle down
for stabilizer, is there any black/red color ones? I am building a all black/red color ma chassis... also mad tang, do you live in hk?~ if you do, then i can come find you to learn more tips from you lol
nice video ! any videos for MS chassis?
WingCasha Eventually~~ I will
Mad Tang Thx i'll be waiting :D
Can this setting use for gazoo toyota upper body?
Can I use the tri-gale Mach white special
What is the best gear lube we can buy?
Hi I'm from Canada how can i buy parts? Or what site do you suggest?

can i use item number 95213 for the back roller ?
sure you can~~ I do use 95213 on the bottom of my rear roller~~ because it is more stronger can handle the hit~~ as long as low resistance roller~~plastic ring or ringless is ok on anywhere of the car
+Mad Tang ok thx
Did you use The gear shaft from item #15347 gear bearing set or from item #15390 fluorine gear shaft?
they are same~ 15347 is a bundle pack with 520 ball bearing~ the 15390 is just individual package of florin gear shaft~
The video I am just giving you a sample you can take a look at~~ I don't wanna open my new package because I need to save all the sample package for other videos
I just have a question, how do i remove the engine? I knew how before but i forgot lol.
XxPlatinumProxX it’s called a motor dude but there is two pins under the machine
where can you buy tamiya parts? ebay or amazon?
Sir can i use dcr 1 cowl for this
Would you make an AR chassis basic mod video?
Jourdan Ghee eventually~~ I will....
Cool~ thanks a lot man.
Do you recommend the aluminum wheels on the AR chassis? Or generally speaking
Aluminum wheel , first disadvantage~ take off slow~ too heavy, re-acceleration slow. advantage: Long distance top speed faster, less rebound
Do you think AR chassis is a good choice to start with? Im just getting into the hobby and i m learning alot from your videos.
any video on the how to setup advance tech setup?

+Mad Tang sir can I use raikiri instead? and any alternative kit thank you so much
Is there any substitute for stabilizer headset?? Thanks
+Era Villacarillo crown Gear
From Indonesia 2022
hi sir , is this set up compatible with AR chassis ?? thank you .
Travis Grady mostly the setup here is applicable to ar chassis. I have one AR chassis and able to use majority of upgrade parts here (except the gears and motors of course)
is it advisable to buy a starter pack instead?
Starter car kit has a lot of good stuff~~ it is cheaper than you buy indivially~~
i dont get anything here got any thing more simpler?
how much money do i have to spent for those parts?
+Farabi rzk 1:19 Watch and listen to the video!!!!!
What is MIDAS COLLECTION website so I can order some parts???
they will have website later~~ but right now they only do retailer.. they locate at SF,CA
Thanks for the info. Hope they will have the website up soon, because I wanted to get more parts to built a better mini 4wd. C:
nice video but this is a little bit expensive for a newbie racer
Well~~ this is the best deal I can find on market~~ try to reduce the budget as much as I can, but unfortunately, most parts on this video can't be removed due to the logical setup . Hope Tamiya can reduce the price on MSRP ~~ LOL ~~ anyway thanks for your comment
Mad Tang hope so.The video is very nice. BTW, could you tell me the tool's name appear at 17mins? Thanks

you need brake on the front,.. because of the ramp Lol
+dj minions de spicable Brake on front will cause head down first, which is real bad for jump (it's like you driving fast and give a very heavy emergency brake, you still need acceleration on the jump due to after landing, it will cause you second acceleration slow) More pro setup today at mini 4wd, it is front need less brake, just sliding on front, to give more smooth entry the ramp or bank or slope, and use rear brake as help for slow down and preventing over lifting on front head. Front brake is not necessary in today;s mini 4wd, because we need more better setup on control the jump position. The front brake in some track layout will work, but most of semi speed, and speed tech track will not work at all.. thanks for your comment.
