- Filmed on 08/10/2020. As Autumn approaches, it is time to really kick start our day in the heart of West Yorkshire. Starting with a busy and interesting island platform station, Halifax (Season 7 Episode 18)
A Northern operated station which hasn't changed much at all since its BR Days. Note as well the old railway signs which were onced used for steam trains to reverse or first generation DMU's to reverse back up the line to switch back.
It is out with the class 142 and 144 Pacerbuses and in with the latest and newest trains in action with the Northern class 195's. Grand Central also serves Halifax station with few daily services linking between Bradford Interchange and London Kings Cross. Brand new services has been introduced including the new Leeds to Chester and the new Hull to Halifax services. Linking brand new through connetions for North Wales and to East Yorkshire. Northern has also split their Leeds to Huddersfield via Bradford Interchange services into just the shuttle service between Bradford Interchange and Huddersfield which are now worked by 2 class 150/2 units. In place for the single car class 153's are are slowly getting withdrawn from Northern to begin their new life with ScotRail. But, it does mean an additional Leeds to Manchester Victoria service.
Since Northern introduced the new class 195's they have proven their worth with Northern with early running services meaning that some trains would have to wait at Halifax for 2 or 3 minutes before they meet their departure times.
During an hours trainspotting at Halifax, this is the variety that was seen:
Northern Trains Limited Class 150/2
Northern Trains Limited Class 158
Northern Trains Limited Class 195

I love grand centrals!
Thanks very much, happy to hear you have enjoyed watching it. Me too, didn't get Grand Central Trains at the time I was there but was seen at Bradford Interchange.
Yay this is my local train station great video keep going good Ricky!
At Halifax we’re lucky as well to have first class trains to London kings x (grand central) I went on one once but it was just a first great western bec they hadn’t finished refurbishing that was 2 years ago but now there done so good good!
Thanks, will do for the final outing of the year to come :-)
Your very lucky for Grand Central to be operating services in your area. They do look amazing fully refurbished they do. Also, Northern hires an Adelante unit out from Grand Central between Leeds and Hebden Bridge.
@@RickyNowis ikr! Grand central dont operate at every station do they?
@@Jack.harrison6 No they don't. Grand Central runs Express services between Bradford/Sunderland to London Kings Cross.

@@RickyNowis I know right! I am eating the toffee variety right now with my lovely cup of tea!

Halifax is home of the piece hall! I’m lucky bec Halifax is my home town!
I swear that first train Horn Made you jump! 😂
Yep, it did a bit :-)
Nice one Ricky. Those CAF 195’s surely sound and look better than those horrible pacers.
Don't they just. I believe they have the same engines as the class 172's but they are rapid, fast and epic units.
Thanks :-)
I've only been on their electric cousins the 331's and yeah they are great and I expect the 195's to be the same.
Lovely video Ricky! BTW am Reece's Sister
Oh hi
@@RickyNowis hi
Did you need to change your Mork and Mindy Y fronts when that train sounded it's horn? 🤣 Love Halifax station - it ensures i get back home each night after a steady days work. Jah Bless. ✌🍄
Lol. Caught me off guard the horn did but driver wanted attention to be famous. It is a great station Halifax is I agree :-)
Just Northern Rail but no Grand Central in the video that's sad.
Atleast there's some variety on the line (which is my local line) lol
@@reecelucasfilms hahaha. Nice one Reece
Local station caching
That first train is heading into siding and I swear the hull train drivers are always rebels and skip stations.
Not this time, all Northern services between Hull and Halifax called at all its requried stations. They don't stop at Low Moor as its not their stop.
@@RickyNowis oh did I type stations I meant red lights it was midnight and I was super tired.
@@YorksLancsTransportHub I was filming a Vid at midnight lol
