As soon as he said knowledge could be had without knowing how the knowledge is had, he admitted his own presuppositions were identical to Destiny's, at which point they would move on to the simple matter of burden of proof (on the one claiming the thing exists).

I'm an atheist and I don't really consider Darth a Christian. He doesn't seem to care about Jesus one bit. All he does is attempt to make the person he's talking to appear stupid, and he's found a sleezy, dishonest and insufferable method to accomplish that as far as he's concerned. His religious stance is immaterial to that desire.
Another Christian who doesn't understand apologetics. The point is as long as you don't have a defeater , your worldview has no basis that it is true. Not really, but if you can't disprove him, and you still reject him, Then you really are a "believer" he doesn't exist, Absence of belief is a belief in of itself.

Anyways, for any belief to judge whether it's rational or not, you look at reasons why someone would hold that belief, so for us, we say the universe is made of contingent -dependent- things, so there has to be further down the chain an independent thing that not only doesn't depend on anything -cause if it does, you will face the problem of infinite regress- and that independent thing is all powerful for having the power to produce the universe, it's also has intelligence cause if it wasn't the universe would be full of chaos and randomness and not bound by any laws, and finally it also has will, cause it chose to make the universe rather than it being random, we say this thing is God.. if you look up this comment even then I would also look up the causality argument.

I had a blog argument with one of these guys like almost 20 years ago and I found several bible passages that contradict the argument that we can trust presupposed foundational knowledge- then proceeded to argue that my presuppositions were more born out by reality than his were.
It stumped him.
You did a great job not letting him assert without answering his own presuppositions. It took me, like, nine blog posts to unravel this (with the benefit of not being talked over) and you did the first eight posts worth of work in 26 minutes.

The only reason he does this is so that the atheist has to defend his position, which again doesn't make sense, and Darth doesn't have to.
Whenever he does finally deign to answer the question of how he knows his God exists, he has a singular answer that does nothing for anybody: "God has revealed himself through specific and natural revelation." That's useless to me. What revelations? Why didn't I witness any of them? Why would I believe something, especially such an extraordinary claim, on someone else's claim that it has been revealed? Show me the fucking revelation, or shut up.

The most satisfying conversation I remember hearing with Darth Dawkins, in most recent debates he is intentionally overbearing to stop his opponents from leading him where his argument Logically follows because he knows he’ll be in a compromised positionS
You know, a lot of people here are calling him a troll. And it seems he isn't. But he is indistinguishable in the tactics he uses. In order to employ the debate strategy that you describe, he has to be fundamentally aware of the fact that your position is utter bullshit. Otherwise you wouldn't attack so relentlessly, and evade so fearfully. He acts like he holds destiny to a high degree of logic first. Then, when questioned on his own beliefs, he blurts out some circular nonesense. But because he previously used a logical standard, his audience extends that previously used logic to his current point and concludes that what he is right now saying is logical.
And that's how he PRETENDS to have a point, which is fundamentally what a troll does: pretend to have a point.

There are plenty of good, and well founded arguments for religion (I'm an atheist). But Darth's argument was: if you can't say for certain that God isn't real, then he must be.
He is solely relying on badfaith arguments, and therefore lacks to agency to debate with anyone.
He is trying to dismiss Destiny; saying that presuppositions need to be definitively certain, negating the meaning of them.
His point of view is a joke, and I lost a substantial amount of brain cells listening to the smooth brains lmaoo

I agree with you with your argument, but I would like to raise some consequences of this argument. The burden of proof is placed on the person making the claim "god exists." I would have to concede that an atheist cannot claim that "gods cannot exist" because they cannot prove it. Until there exists evidence in the physical world, spirituality would only be purely a hypothetical what-if game. There would be no reason to believe that one religion is more correct than another. All religions, because they lack evidence, would have to be equally possible and equally unprovable.

This is because, as you said, so far there is no justification to be made for the existence or nonexistence of God in the material world.

They then say that everything beyond is part of God including everything you could shift the blame to. Basically, God is everything humans can't understand. Problem is then it has to be something that we can never touch or sense or understand otherwise God shrinks as human knowledge grows making it non eternal. Otherwise stuff like QFT and GR would have previously been a part of God, but not anymore.

that's usually how they like it, simple answers without any critical thinking and questions. They love the idea of god so much is because it's simple. Put God into the answer section of any questions because it's easier. They don't genuinely want to debate. They want to preach because there always will be people who only want an absolute answer no matter if it's true or not listen to them and agree. I think the biggest difference between "us" and "them" is that they would go out of their way to create an answer even if it does not have any evidence, rather than accepting the fact of not knowing. The problem with the claims that these are “word traps” implies that
1) you don’t understand how debates are supposed to work.
2) to get “trapped” means that you don’t know enough about the topic to be properly informed so as to clearly work your way with words to express your thoughts clearly
3) that you own stance on the topic is so weak in that regardless of how correct you might be, you are incapable of defending your views.

So by accepting Darths definition of God Destiny just accepted that for this conversation God is the necessary foundation for everything, so every time Darth says claims God is necessary for everything then he’s correct by definition.
