Yeah, I think they're pretty damn good crawlers! Obviously they're not going to act like a TRX or SCX, but for a scale truck they're really capable. Especially with a monkey or a cat doing the navigation... that's the real key.
I wonder whether I'll ever be able to make videos that are anything like as good as yours? You can traverse your camera through foliage without snagging it on an errant twig or thistle, and all the while you keep the subject perfectly entered in the viewfinder. You can get a close-up of the rear two wheels of your redoubtable HC6, then in the same shot smoothly zoom out to incluse the entire truck in the shot. How do you do these things? Do you have magical powers, or do you shoot hours of footage and only show us the best bits? Are you, perchance, a multimillionaire with a team of location scouts and a highly skilled camera crew at your beck and call? Ot am I just...a bit crap? Either way, your videos flood me with joy while serving as inspiration and providing me with a level of excellence to which to aspire.
Ha ha ha, no magic and even less of the millionaire status, sadly... though OS maps are pretty magic for tracking down spots to check out. And anyway, you do some great videos with your own unique trucks! Yours are very inventive (and I don't know if it's a filter or what, but I always really like the colour palette. Really suits your scenery, and I'm never quite sure where you are in the world). Thanks for the compliments as always though, I'm pleased you enjoy my channel! All the best. 😎👍
@@rccrawlersmid-wales645 I thoroughly enjoy your channel! It gives me something to aspire to. I suppose I always think that my efforts could, and should, be better. In the past I have driven 60 miles to shoot a video because I didn't think my local sand was the right shade of yellow, and I do seek out rich reddish mud tones to complement my rusty bodywork. I should take your advice and make use of Google Earth to spot locations!
It's not a filter; it's one of my two identical Fujifilm XP cameras. It really picks up orangey and reddish earth tones. Oddly, its stablemate doesn't do the same thing at all. A bolder man than I might go into both menus and try to set the boring one to do the orangey thing. And the videos are shot in the south of Spain, in a sort of desertish area, while visiting my dad, who has a house there.
Hello Hello! I finished putting together my HC6 and I absolutely love it. The only issue I have with it is there’s quite a bit of slop and I’m not sure exactly where it’s coming from. I feel like it’s coming directly from the diffs but I reeeeallly don’t want to have to tear it apart again. I believe you mentioned it briefly in an older video. Any advice would be amazing. Thanks a million!
Sorry for the slow reply...! There is a fair bit of slop in these, it's true. It's kind of everywhere, but on mine at least a fair bit is in the driveshafts, and they're (relatively) cheap and very easy to replace. I haven't actually done mine yet! I did gear mine down at the pinion for better low-speed control though, and that helped. Glad to hear you're enjoying the truck, though! 😎👍
There are some who say the HC6 can’t crawl? They are of course fools! Top notch as always bud

That truck looks cool. Is it weathered painted? It's very atmospheric and nice.
Thanks! It is weathered, yes - various stains and the odd patch of rust. 😎👍
