I have been to China a few times people are very friendly and always willing to help Another good thing for foreigners is in the restaurants the menus have pictures of all the different foods
Love your comment, every country has good and bad people
only politicians the worst kind!
Western people don't hate chinese? i'm not sure about that. It even got worse since covid19.
There is a joke. A foreigner said he planned to eat all the Chinese food in a year, only to find out he hadn't left Sichuan in a year!

The statue is of Sun Yat-sen, often called the father of modern China. He is well respect among Chinese communities all over the world. I have seen his museum in Malaysia as well. And the park is named after him. The first dried fruit I think are persimmons. The orange fruits are Kumquat.
Thanks for letting us know ☺️
Sun Yat Sen also founded Kuomingtang or KMT party. KMT ruled China initially, after Dr Sun's death during the civil war, it was defeated to Taiwan and governed that island until recent decade. Dr Sun is also revered in Taiwan. Singapore also has a memorial villa dedicated to him.
@@sunkissedbucketlist Yes, and he visited this Park in Nov 1924, just before his death, after trying to negotiate the interest parties in order to improve the situation and fail .
@@s._3560 Both KMT and Communist were under Sun. It was when KMT wanted to consolidate power and purge the communist party that started the civil war.
I don't see China would have done any better under KMT regime. KMT regime was pretty corrupted and everything was top down. It is easy to make several thousand people rich but hard to feed million and million of people after the war.
Zhongshan is the birthplace of Sun Yat-Sen. This is why Sun Yat Sen is better known as Sun Zhongshan. And the park is labeled Zhongshan park CPC has also considerd Sun Zhongshan their national father and have honored him with memorial and museums including Sun former home.

Tianjin is a place that represents China's years of shame. To avoid being invaded, the country must be very strong
shall not happen again with the mighty modern army. 🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀
@@ffbeexaid4509 Shall not happen again? It has already happened. South Tibet was carved out by India in 1951. South Tibet is called Arunachal Pradesh by India today. South Tibet is a lush area rich in biodiversity. Tawang is the Sixth Dalai Lama's birthplace and home to the four hundred years old Tawang Monastery. The flag of the Republic of China used to fly there. Today the Indian flag is flying in Tawang.
@@PomegranateChocolate哈哈,你真是个小可爱
@@user-qq9px5ro4f Do you know that the PRC currently has a territorial dispute with India twice the size of Taiwan where the PRC called South Tibet and India called Arunachal Pradesh? Do you know Indians hate Chinese even though India has land grabbed a piece of China in 1951? Do you know how this dispute happened?
On August 14th, 1947, Nehru gave his famous 'Tryst with Destiny' speech, and with that, a country that historically did not exist suddenly showed up on China's doorstep. India is similar to South Africa, a country that came into existence only because the colonialists created the country and subsequently and willingly relinquished its power to the indigenous people it once subjugated. If the British had never landed in India, the subcontinent today would comprise thousands of fiefdoms, often at each other's throats. 1947 was the time of pre-Communist China (the Republic of China, nowadays usually referred to as Taiwan), and India continued the expansionist policy of the British Raj and continued the land incursion. Nationalist China (pre-Communist Republic of China) had been sending repeated diplomatic protests to the then-Indian Nehru government. However, schooled by the British on how to deal with these nuisances, these diplomatic protests were duly ignored. In fact, one of the last acts of the Republic of China as the government of the mainland before retreating to Taiwan when its defeat was imminent was to send yet another diplomatic protest to India of its territorial intrusion.
When the Communists took control of the mainland after the Nationalist government had relocated to Taiwan, India was one of the earliest nations to recognize Communist China and, in one fell swoop, shut out the diplomatic channel the ROC used to deliver its diplomatic protests. India's land incursion continued, but Communist China ceased all diplomatic protests. In February 1951, three and a half years after the British Raj had left the subcontinent, India finally trekked up to Tawang, South Tibet, expelled the officials posted there from Lhasa, and annexed it. Tawang is the last major Tibetan frontier town. It is the birthplace of the Sixth Dalai Lama and home to the four-hundred-year-old Tawang Monastery. Historically, the Tawang Monastery has been a central government-friendly monastery. This means the news of India's invasion and annexation should have arrived in Beijing within a few days at the latest. Unsurprisingly, the Tibetan Lhasa authority vehemently protested, as did the Republic of China (by then had already retreated to Taiwan), but curiously, Communist China made no noise.
Communist China's baffling silence must have greatly emboldened India as it continued to push northward into China, eventually precipitating the one-month-long 1962 India-China war. In the run-up to the 1962 war, Zhou En Lai went to New Dehli pleading to Nehru to take what it had stolen (South Tibet) and fix the boundary along the MacMahon alignment (It was termed the MacMahon alignment and not the MacMahon line because the so-called MacMahon line is a diplomatic forgery and is not recognized by either Communist China or Nationalist China (Republic of China)) but the offer was rejected by India. Zhou En Lai later remarked to a Sri Lankan politician that he had never met a person as arrogant as Nehru. Coming from Zhou, who met a lot of Western statesmen, including the famous snub where John Dulles Foster refused to shake hand with Zhou, it says a lot. It is obvious that Communist China was bending backward, trying not to pick up a fight with India, but Nehru saw Zhou's mission to New Delhi as a sign of submission. After all, India has already gobbled up South Tibet (an area twice the size of Taiwan) with zero protest and zero resistance, so why should India listen to China now? Besides, India also wants Aksai Chin, which is another ridiculous land claim. In 1962, Nehru announced in the Indian parliament that he would 'throw the Chinese out of Indian territory.' Finally, China had enough and launched a one-month war on India in October 1962. India was quickly defeated, but the war didn't end with any resolution. In 1987, India made South Tibet a state and renamed it the so-called Arunachal Pradesh. The Republic of China (Taiwan) once again issued a statement strongly condemning India.
Here is an excerpt of the statement put out by the Republic of China (usually referred to as Taiwan nowadays):
"In regard to the issue of the Indian government's illegal occupation of our country's territory and the establishment of the so-called 'Arunachal Pradesh,' the foreign ministry of the Republic of China issued the following announcement at midnight:
India's illegal occupation of our country's territory has been repeatedly stated by the government of the Republic of China as something it will not recognize. Recently, the Indian Congress unilaterally passed the establishment of 'Arunachal Pradesh' to the south of the so-called McMahon Line. The Indian government also made it a state. The government of the Republic of China once again solemnly proclaims that the government of India intends to legitimize its illegal occupation of Chinese territory. The government of the Republic of China regards this as illegal, void, and absolutely not recognized."
The territorial dispute festers to this day, and India is occupying South Tibet. This land has never even set foot by the people in the Indian subcontinent in the whole of human history, yet they continue claiming victimhood against an aggressive China.

That's Dr. Sun Yatsen who is . He was the man who overthrown imperial rule in China in 1911. He is mostly refer to by his revolutionary "nom du guerre" Sun Zhongshan which is why the park you were in is called Zhongshan Park, there is one in most major Chinese cities. His home village Xiangshan was renamed Zhongshan (near Macau) in memory of him. Fun fact, the Zhongshan name was derived from the name he used during his exile in Japan, Nakayama, the kanji would be Zhongshan in Chinese.

Always fun watching you both. The Chinese Hamburger, or Rou Jia Mo (肉夹馍), was named Shaanxi Province’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of 2016. It's a very popular snack, certainly one of my favorites. Everyone is getting ready for the New Year holiday next week, so you'll see more and more decorations. Did you check out the Starbucks? it's a "Reserve" so sells alcohol inside as well as coffee. Not sure how much longer you'll be in China, but keep in mind as we get closer to the holiday February 9th to approximately the 18th many busineses will close as people want to spend their holiday with family and so there will be fewer employees at work. Banks will be closed for at least 7 days. Chinese people are very curious and more so in the areas that get less visitors from overseas, Shanghai residents are much more used to foreigners so they appear less friendly at times but the kids are always the most curious and friendly 😉😉🤣🤣 The Arabic looking text on the note is Mongolian writing. You'll see more of it in the Northwest of China than other parts.

The statue is Sun Yat-sen.
Sun Yat-sen was a great national hero, a great patriot, a great forerunner of China's democratic revolution, the founder of the Republic of China and the Chinese Kuomintang, the advocate of the Three People's Principles, and the founder of the Constitution of the Five Powers. He first raised the banner of thorough anti-imperialism and anti-feudalism, "starting a republic and ending the feudal monarchy for two thousand years."
On November 24, 1894, Sun Yat-sen founded the Xingzhong Association in Honolulu. In 1905 (the thirty-first year of Guangxu), the Chinese Tongmeng Association was founded. On October 10, 1911 (the third year of Xuantong), the revolutionaries in the new Army secretly contacted each other and decided to revolt that night. After the 1911 Revolution, he was elected Provisional President of the Republic of China (January 1, 1912 - April 1, 1912). On March 12, 1925, Sun died of cancer in Beijing. On June 1, 1929, according to his wishes, he was buried in the Zhongshan Mausoleum of Zijin Mountain in Nanjing. In 1940, the National government issued an order to the whole country and honored him as the "founding Father of the Republic of China".
