Kunming, China is definitely not what we expected. We highly recommend visiting this incredible city when travelling China. It is not just a gateway to Yunnan but it also has a vibrant culture, busy streets and beautiful architecture.

This is our first full day exploring Yunnan and we’re already loving everything it has to offer. Get ready for an epic series as we travel around China 😍
You can go to Fuxian Lake, which is the second largest deep-water lake in China with drinkable water quality and natural pink beaches. It is only 50 kilometers away from Kunming, very close. The cuisine here includes copper pot fish and copper pot rice. Yunnan gave Erhai Lake to Chinese tourists, but left Fuxian Lake to itself.

Welcome back to China! Hope you guys will have a great time. Amy from Blondie in China channel recently just published a video about mushrooms in yunnan. It explained more about why mushrooms are more famous there and some of the different options if you interested
if you are in Yunnan, you may continue your journey to Xishuangbanna and Dali (old city, a lot of foreigner in the old time tea house).
Oh yep these two places are famous. Probably gonna meet a lot of Chinese tourists there, MUCH more than the locals. It’s a very big local tourism spot.
Typhoon Capricorn has passed, and this season happens to be the most comfortable time in Kunming. After finishing my trip to Kunming, I went to Jiuzhaigou in October. At that time, Jiuzhaigou is at its most beautiful.

Yunan is famous for its Mushroom. 80% of porcini mushrooms in italy are imported from Yunan. You guys should visit the mushroom market it has nearly 40% of the world's mushroom species in Yunan due to its geographic location and weather. You guys definitely should try a mushroom hotpot and let the locals recommend to you guys!

You won't want to miss Dali, which is another stunning city in Yunnan province. You should definitely check it out later. Also, don't forget to try rice noodles, fried potatoes, and mushroom hotpot in Yunnan. There are the signatures!

I think so, too. I've seen this several times in CN where people walk around with high quality cameras and like to take photos of people for free, because it's just their hobby. Not just retired people, but also younger people or especially art students who want to practice their skills.

Hahahaha, I'm laughing so hard. At 4:56 seconds, the camera shows a passerby on the phone, probably talking to his friend. Your camera just recorded it, and this passerby happened to be complaining and cursing to the other person on the phone. Similar to saying the word F * * K, leaving behind a dramatic scene, hahaha
there is a cafe called Salvador's near the lake ran by two Americans who lived in Kunming for many years, great people and great coffee if like to try.
the locals just know how to cook the mushroom and Yunnan is famous of the freashness and varieties of mushrooms
You may visit Huangshan (Yellow mount) in Anhui Province , it is like a wonderful fairyland.

The Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is also very beautiful. There should be a very good performance / show at the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain with a few hundreds of performers in an Open Air Theatre.

I think you could visit these cities in Yunnan: Jianshui, Dali, Lijiang, Shangri-La, and Deqin.

That big noodle bowl is the perfect size. Eating so good for only $3 USD. If only we Americans can have that kind of living. A big bowl of beef noodle soup like that in America will cost at least 5 times the Chinese price.

We are loving our time here on our 4th trip! 🤩
For years I've been searching for the ideal place to settle down, and currently my number one choice is Kunming, because it has mild/pleasant climate, few natural disaster, much more affordable housing than the Tier-1 Chinese cities, and still have plenty of shopping as well as natural scenery.
My second choice is Guiyang. Many cities in GuiZhou province also have mild climate, they are even more affordable and fewer natural disaster than Kunming, but not as developed.
Nice video as always, keep going, lots to explore in yunnan province, lijiang, Dali, Shangri-la … lots of lakes, mountains, parks… thumbs 👍

For hundreds of years in all languages, waterlily and lotus are always mass up with each other. In recent years by DNA technology, scientist finally figured out that waterlily and lotus are two seperate catagories. Basically if the leaves lying on the surface of water is waterlily, and the leaves rise above water is lotus.
I recommend you visit the Tiger Leaping Gorge in Yunnan. You need to be fit. Real countryside and rural. I am envy that you have the time to spend in Yunnan . I have visited Kunming 15 years ago, but with limited budget and time , I can only afford to spend only 1 full day visiting Kunming.
Lotus are grown for the seeds and root as both are edible and delicious. The root is pinkish in color and you might had it in hot pot. The plants are pretty too but is great for both reasons.
Quite a change of climate after travelling in hot and humid Singapore and Thailand! Have fun.

Yunnan is famous for its variety of mushrooms. Because of the weather, it’s very humid in Yunnan. But please be careful, there are a lot of poisoned mushroom that even locals can’t identify. You might want to go to a proper restaurant to try out some mushrooms. Btw, mushroom hotpot is a must try in Yunnan!
Yunnan is a treasure. This particular province has the most minority groups in China than any other provinces. Literally, you can experience something different in every city or county you visit, since the culture their may belong to different minority groups. For recommendation, I strongly suggest you to go to Lijiang (Naxi culture), Dali (Bai culture), Xishuang banna(Dai culture, which shares the same origin as Thai as well as rain forest adventure) and Diqing (Tibetan culture and plateau scenery , be careful of the high altitude)

I just came back from Yunnan during the summer vacation. I went to Kunming, Lijiang and Dali. I strongly recommend Dragon Lady Lake in Lijiang and Erhai Lake in Dali. They are so beautiful. You must also go to the Yulong Snow Mountain in Lijiang, which is 4680 meters above sea level. Please pay attention to prevent altitude sickness. You can drink some oral glucose every day and don't take a long time bath.
