One Botched raid! Not a good example. Try again. Officers were fired upon and returned fire. Tyler wasn't in bed she was in the hall and Officers did annouce themselves. Its an aweful situation. It's WAS a no knock warrant and they knocked anyway. The neighbors heard them.

It wasn't a no-knock raid. And the person who botched it was Walker who shot a cop. Do you really think the witness at Breonna Taylor's apartment complex is lying about the cops announcing themselves? And who else but police use a battle ram to break down a door? Walker claims he fired a "warning shot at the ground." (but the cop was shot in the leg) Cops got shot at when entering her apt. with a warrant. Do you really think they are not going to return fire after one of them gets shot? Walker didn't know Breonna Taylor was helping a drug dealer? Taylor didn't think cops would ever show up due to her involvement with Glover?
Can you please revise your post to show that the warrant was in fact announced. Why put out false information? Does it not fit your agenda?

This happens in every city. This is one of the first times that it has been exposed to this level. The reason why these cities work hand and hand with real estate developers is because of a Republican-backed 2005 Supreme Court lawsuit and Ruling: Kelo v. City of New London. That lawsuit allowed Cities to use (Eminent Domain) not for public use (schools, public buildings, or roads) but claim neighborhoods are blighted and can be turned over to private real estate developers for their profit. Cities, especially in the South, target Black neighborhoods with this 2005 SCOTUS Eminent Domain ruling.

sadly even Canada's biggest city Toronto did this. They evicted low income people so they can gentrify an area and build new condos. The city promised that affordable units would be part of the project but everyone with a sense knew that was bullshit. Now Toronto heavily lacks in affordable housing. It's terrible and sad that major cities do this intentionally.
afaik, in the UK mixed income housing is better for poorer people. Being around and near people of higher income helps.
In the UK we have help to buy schemes for poorer people to get into housing that they couldn't otherwise buy. You ARE NOT allowed to buy those houses if you earn more than a certain amount.

Yep the actions of the officers that day first and foremost point to huge problems in leadership. That a whole squad would ignore procedure isn't just the problem of a few individuals but the whole precinct and possibly city.

I Personally think, and this includes my country of Canada. That some of the people in leadership positions from the old empire, that have like 2 weeks of education - have no buisness being there. Im telling you some of these leaders have been "grand fathered" into positions with no drive towards them studying or becoming better. In any way. Just grandfathered in after years of service. That to me is a major issue - How can we put people in leadership positions that are woefully under educated to provide advanced thought into handling societal issues? Stop the nepotism and the elbow rubbing hires. Lets get people with life experience, and a drive to learn advanced level education.

Breona didn't live on 2424 Elliot Avenue she lived on 3003 Springfield Drive. Aguiar brought up 2424 Elliott Avenue to expose PBI and the City plus show that PBI's mandate and free reign led to Taylor's execution.

This is when the Justice Department needs to actually look into this as not only a murder case but as a part of a larger effort by the city of Louisville to force the people of Elliot Ave out of their own neighborhood. A neighborhood that is no doubt historically a segregated neighborhood. Think about that, rather than improve the conditions of the neighborhood for the people that live there. You use the police to force them to vacate the area, you foreclose on houses that owe property taxes, putting the elderly and poor out so you can redevelop the areas for white people to return to the city. No wonder they won't release any information in this case. No wonder they aren't wearing body cams

I understand the need to investigate every angle of this case, but had the boyfriend not fired at the cops, she would still be alive. That's where the blame should be. Now, if she was still alive and facing many charges, then we can dig into other aspects of the case for the exposing of corruption. But its counterproductive to try and shift blame for someone's death because of the corruption beneath it. This probably happens in every city. Up to now I've respected Vice's reporting on the Taylor case. But this video fails to establish a link between her murder and the PBI's raids that same night half a city away, except insofar as her family's lawyer has asserted that there's a link. As a result, the lawyer seems to be leading Vice by the nose, rather than Vice doing its own analysis of the situation. Poor journalism, if you ask me.

They used to raid this, house in south Jamaica Queens in house I was renting. In nyc they have 3 time raid clause where the city takes the home after the 3rd time. The first two times they destroyed the front door when I was gone. I returned to a wide open house thank goodness nothing was missing. The third time they came in my second floor window and woke me up with a gun to my head in my home.
@Taylor Black NYPD didn't have a warrant though, they never presented one and I don't do drugs I don't even drink. I don't have even a traffic ticket no jail time either. You have this blind idea, that some the police aren't crooked and we all now the police can very well be crooked. With all due respect, South Jamaica, and the 103rd Precinct is one of the drug/ crime capitals of NYC. I was raised on 109th Avenue /164th Street; went to PS 40 (across from the notorious South Jamaica Houses - the "40 projects"), and I.S. 8 for middle school. It was a bucket of blood then, and it probably still is.

When I see reports like this it really makes me upset. How evil of a city to target residents with over policing in order to obtain those individuals homes and gentrify the neighborhood. They’re doing the same all over. In the south and southeast (where I live) part of my city, historically working class and working poor chicano and black neighborhoods, the city’s grabbing up as much property as they can get their hands on then selling contracts to private building firms (historically a process of graft) and building town homes and lofts.
The great thing for them is it raises property tax so they see more revenue while also pricing us out of our homes. The problem that they don’t care about is they’re creating a homeless crisis that will mostly effect working poor families and destroying part of the most historically rich areas of the city.
And it’s always nice, as someone who counts themself a member of the extreme left, to see these college grad gen zed supposed liberals snap up lofts in my neighborhood without even the consideration of how they came to be.
