How To Shim a Lambretta Gearbox

Everything you need to know about shimming a Lambretta gearbox. This is the same process for all Series 1-3 and GP/DL models except the TV175 series 1 model.
Math is as follows:
Shim width + measured gap = total space between gearbox endplate and 1st gear
Total Space - Desired Gap = Max Shim Width (desired shim)
Total Space - Maximum Gap = Minimum Shim Width
