    Melissa Lozano Barberino is a brown belt under Travis Tooke. She works as a Travel Advisor and personal trainer. She is a single mother and trains BJJ almost daily. She is a ten year survivor of breast cancer - the catalyst behind her training & the reason why she prioritizes physical fitness and emotional well being. Her battle with recovery and the complications the had surrounding surgery are the reason why she continues to renegotiate her schedule daily for Jiu Jitsu .
    Although she has suffered many injuries in BJJ (2 torn ACLs), she says it have given so much more than its taken. She has become a World Champion and PanAms Champ at every belt level since white and can accredit that to simply refusing to stop showing up.
    Almine Barton has been a licensed acupuncturist for 22 years & a certified fitness trainer for 23 years. She’s been rock climbing for 20 years, & climbing ice for 10 years. She’s been training BJJ for 8.5 years, & is the founder of “Hips & Grips Climbing & JiuJitsu Camps.” She lives with her boyfriend & 2 huskies in Bend, OR., where she trains & is an avid climber at “Smith Rock State Park.
