My name is Dave and I travel with my dog Bella in a 1987 Class A Motorhome. My channel is about full time RV Living in an older RV while keeping the wheels rolling on a budget. I do the repairs, updates and upgrades myself. I’ve become my own RV Mechanic/Medic! When a exterminator comes to a home with chemicals to kill fles, most of that chemical is borax. Thats what I used on my carpet rubed it in let it set a week then swepted the carpet and put down more borax to get any new hatchlings . It worked , it was a cheap fix.
Dave , I work in the pest Control industry and all you need for the fleas issue is one can of precor 2625. You need to stay out for 2 hours. Safe around pets
You got so lucky rescuing Bella. She’s such a well behaved dog.
You should pull the carpet, hot water wash the bedding then get them dead before adding anything back in. You can replace that carpet. Tell Bella I love her sweet little self! ❤
Fleas are the worst, while living in the south I kept a pan of water under a night light, and daily spread salt on carpet and vacuumed, was told by an elderly lady to do that and was able to eventually got rid of them!! Oh the frustration those little buggers are! Also I would mix dawn dish soap, vinegar and water and spray down the dog that I thought was the culprit that brought them! A few weeks later, no fleas, and the couple down the road claimed the dog that got out of the kennel place!!

Hay there Dave & let's not forget Bella,Glad to get to catch up to you,Yes Dave those Fleas can be a nuisance, I've been through it myself, Long story short,I pulled the carpet,replaced it,and haven't had a flea yet,I treat Boo,(my daughters cat) and after each vacume every other day I treat the carpet also,just some good advice,,be safe out there Dave, hope to still have that cup of coffee one morning..
we went up to Lolieta near Sigel Pa for just after the 4th holiday rattlesnakes everywhere camping neighbor got a 50 inch one...

You can put a flusher in the tank, it is cheap and easy to do
And now you’ve moved eggs into the coachmen. The eggs can be dormant for months they will hatch when they feel vibration
My guess... still have fleas. Bomb it again ;-) Also... just realizing how sweet the Coachmen is... compact size, driver side door, old enough that you can work on it yourself... I really enjoy watching the practical care and your good RV life Dave. Fingers crossed on the critter problem.

Missed her before she goes outside . With what I mentioned earlier. Those mite cause dry skin. They are white and when they are bad you will feel wax. They are called wax mites. They get on your hair. And it will cause hair to fall out. You can scratch your self and they look like dead skin.

Hello Sweetheart and Ms Bella!! I found that dawn and vinegar does we'll. I set a plate out of it and I spray myself when I go out and come in. I would spray Bella also. Parasites are bad this yr as well. So please whip your self off and keep Bella sprayed. Put alcohol in it as well. Hugs and love to you sweethearts. You can add a fragrance like lavender or I like eucalyptus and vic sav. With vinger . You be amazed what you whip off your skin. These mites you can not see. And that is cancer . Love y'all's way!! I live in C FL sand fleas are horrible, and as we all know there is no dirt in FL it's all sand and people and animals carry the sand fleas..I wash my dog with vinegar and dawn let set a few minutes while scrubbing, then Final rinse in vinegar alone.
The pill from the vet saves money .all that over the counter stuff runs into a lot of money

For cleaning your tank, try dumping a big bag of icecubes down the toilet before driving. The cubes will slush around cleaning the tank, and later they melt and drains out!
It was nice seeing Bella running around and rubbing that nasty bath off her fur, lol . Glad you got the Coachman out for a little , keeps it fresh, also it is probably a tad more comfortable than the van. Stay safe , have fun , give Bella a rub for me .
Get rid of the rug and bedding. Bomb and then after 4 0r 5 days bomb again. Maybe do that a third time. Do the same to the other camper if you really want to get rid of the fleas.
I had them bad one time and the only thing that worked was a spray you get from the vet. The following is a copy of what I found online and it also said fleas live up to 100 days.
Here are some tips:
Aerosol sprays are recommended over foggers, as you can direct the spray under beds or other places that the foggers may be unable to reach.
Choose an insecticide that contains both an adulticide (kills adult fleas), such as permethrin, and an insect growth regulator (kills the eggs, larvae, and pupae), such as methoprene or pyriproxyfen.
People and pets shouldn’t come into contact with an insecticide or chemical treatment until it has dried. Be sure to wear gloves when you apply the spray, and only do it when everyone is out of the room or house.
Keep on mind, permethrin . Safe for you and pets, cheap and deadly to all manner of insects.

Your woods are probably full of ticks with the mild winter as it was.
I know you don't want to hear it, but I'm saying it anyway..lol. When you bomb, you have to get her on the pills from the vet. OTC stuff doesn't work in bad years. I used the liquid on the skin from the vet. Once I started using the pills, it does ticks, fleas etc. My dog lived 12 years. It's kind of like us humans having to take medicine. I'm sorry you're dealing with that, what a nightmare.
Go to tractor supply and get the consetrate dip only way to get rid of them dip the dog keep the head out of the dip. That's only way to get rid of them all the same time I went that way with my dog , I tried everything you did but couldn't get rid all . Some times feed stores have a free dip once a year you can check with them m good luck. You can spay your carpet light with a spray bottle like washing a window make sure to keep windows and doors open.
My Guess….The fleas are back. Hope I’m wrong.

Shocked? I hope it's not fleas still in the van. We have a few of those darn fruit flies, gnats or what ever they are called. So very irritating!

I owned a used Coachman. Leaked like a sieve. All the exterior surface joints seeped. The roof exterior cover developed pin holes along the surface also slow seeping moisture. The moisture soaks into the interior insulation and lays there until you can recognize water stains along the interior wood walls. Had lots of black fungus in between the interior walls and exterior surface. Just do a real good inspection, get a moisture meter from amazon to help identify water seepage under the walls. Fleas are back?
I’m just gonna take a wild guess here, but I bet there are still fleas in the van. Sometimes you have to do more than one flea bomb. Once you get a bad infestation, it’s not easy to get rid of them specially with the weather you’re having.
Don't just leave those fleas. It will get worse. Get rid of the grass and put a matress and pillow covers on your bed.

Moth balls are poisonous to pets. Not good for humans either. Borax is a better solution.

What I do with my dogs and cat. Bath them (not the cats). Wait 3 days, then put the flea meds on, then don't bath for a month, then repeat or not. From April til the first freeze. Ohio is bad with fleas, and I never had an infestation. I have 3 dogs 2 cats cats I do the pills.
He put clothing in the motorhome, hope he washed everything but how the He11 does he make money to go camping all the time.
