- The Settlers sing 'The Lightning Tree' which was the TV Theme to ITV Yorkshire's 'Follyfoot'. The theme was recorded in 1971 for York Records, distributed by Decca. Stephen Francis wrote the song and the arrangement and conductor was Johnny Pearson. Recorded at Command Studios in London. The Song reached number 36 in the official UK Singles Chart in late October 1971. You can purchase the complete DVD set of Follyfoot from all good suppliers.

We used to sing this… in “hymn” practice 🤣. As an adult I’m realising many of the songs we sang were probably just the teachers favourites.

They were part of our 'scene' when I shared a house with a load of folk singers back in the early 60s...I remember Cindy.
That shanty song that's around at the moment reminded me of this song so I had to look it up. Vaguely remember Follyfoot - think it had something to do with a horse.

Just seen Cindy the female singer on the bidding room. She was selling a large item of furniture and it sold for £550. She is now a vicar.
