Hi there Manjula, I wanted to thank you for teaching me how to cook Indian food.. I really love curry. I have watched your youtube instructions on how to cook several dishes. I make a list of spices and took to my local Indian grocery store. I had store manager help me find the right ingredients.. I have personally made 2 of your curry recipes so far, and loved them both!..I can taste your love of cooking in each recipe.... Keep up the good work.. :) Thanks again for all you do..

ridiculously good. tried an Indian spice mix...fresh is so much better! It smells amazing during cooking. I couldn't believe how much pepper you put in. A teaspoon of scotch bonnet sauce in my curry is usually good, but three tsp in this recipe and it's still mild. Thanks!

Thank you Manjula for this beautiful and delicious recipe! I didn't have all the ingredients, but I did have most of them (I found an Indian market in my city last weekend and bought many new spices!) and it turned out absolutely delicious! I substituted coconut oil for the ghee to make it vegan and added sweet potato cubes and frozen spinach while cooking the lentils and, even though it is not traditional, I highly recommend it :)
    Thank you!

This is an excellent recipe, I've made it many times. The mango powder adds a bit of acidity to the dish. If you don't have it, try a squeeze of lime juice at the very end. I think you'll like it.

Hello, just to let you know that I made this today and just had it for dinner. First I wasn't sure what type of dried red chilli you use - I went with Kashmiri to get more colour. I also used Kashmiri Chilli Powder instead of Red Chili Powder, again for colour really. I wasn't sure which green chillies to use and in the end went with 4 x Birdseye which made the dish too hot for my wife although it did mellow as the serving cooled down? I think I will only use 2 chillies next time but I would like to know which ones you use as there are few different varieties to choose from at my local Indian store. Thank s again - great recipe!

I'm using Tesco Yellow Split Peas 500G x 2.. Instructions: "No need to soak". Rinse thoroughly before cooking. I'm still soaking them overnight anyway.. After you said they doubled in size I ran to my fridge to find all of the water had soaked up haha..... added some more to cook a big batch up tomorrow. Pretty sure 1KG won't all cook at once but maybe haha :D
